Hi,
We'll be picking up my bro-in-law at MCO and have never been there,so don't know the ropes. Would like to meet him in front and not even have to park. Is this possible? Absolutely any info about the airport would be helpful. Thanks a bunch.

That's the website for Orlando International. They have diagrams of the terminal buildings, including one that shows what airlines come in at terminal A and terminal B. The airport is also well-marked as you drive in so you should be able to find it easy. Best thing would be to tell your BIL to meet you outside the appropriate terminal. For example, if he's flying in on Delta, which is in terminal B, have him meet you outside terminal B. If both of you have cell phones, that can make it much much easier.

Easiest thing, of course, would be to meet him outside security in the airport lobby. If he's checking bags, it can sometimes take a while for the bags to come through; if his flight is delayed for whatever reason, you might not be able to find out unless you park and go in.

The main terminal area is a rectangle with Terminal A as one long side and Terminal B as the opposite long side. Both A and B have easy access to a large high ceilinged area with the Hyatt Hotel rooms overlooking it, during the holiday season a huge Christmas tree is in the center.

This is a good area to meet people. At least in 2001 there was a small pulic TV viewing area you can use and plan to meet people at. (double check to see if there are more than one).

The other end of the main terminal main level also has a rectangular area equally accessible to A and B and there are many stores there. There is also a TV viewing area or you can decide on meeting outside a particular store.

If you plan to drive byh and meet outside, if you see your party on the sidewalk behind rows of double parked cars each with driver listening to radio inside, stop anyway. Then ask the policeman to shoo one of them away so you can swing in and pick up your party.

"Many columns and pylons look alike. When driving through to pick someone up, be sure you and they know exactly where to meet."

MCO is very easy to navigate, everything is very well marked. Just follow the signs to the terminal where he is coming in at and tell him to meet you outside the doors where he picks up his luggage. You can drive right up and never even have to leave the car, matter of fact you can not leave the car but you can usually get a spot somewhere in front and wait for him.
