WISH trip to Aulani - need advice on everything

Hi, We will be planning a WISH trip to Hawaii for summer 2015. We are hoping to stay at Aulani as it was part of my DS's wish. We know next to nothing about a Aulani and need advice on everything. Thanks in advance for any info and advice!

Watch the videos posted there and such.

Then as you have familiarized yourself with the basics of the resort doing a search on this forum is great.... and also asking questions about any specifics.

I also really like reading the trip reports here. I find them super helpful when planning.

One of my faves on Aulani is "Aulani on a Whim? A 10 day odyssey (or Ohio: There and Back Again - my first TR)" by JeffR. He does a great job explaining things and it has lots of good pictures to help with visuals.

Aulani is wonderful! Our DD10 is always asking when we can go back. We were there last Oct (DD was 10) and one of the highlights was surfing lessons with Hawaiian Fire. Otherwise she just wanted to swim in the pools and lazy river and hang out at the beach all day long. She also loved the Menehune game (treasure hunt using a tablet you check out from the community hall). We spent a couple of days touring the island, but she would have been perfectly happy just staying at the resort for the 5 days we were there.

What a great wish! We just did my DD wish in Dec. She wanted to act on a TV show. We had so much fun and Make a Wish took care of so much stuff. One thing that was nice about the wish trip as someone who is a huge planner for trips was I was just able to relax and go with the flow. They sent us an iternary for each day.

I can't give you much info about Aulani yet because we won't be there for 8 more days. We are going with DS who is 10 and DD who is 14. We are also going with 2 other families that have 10 year old boys too. If you have any questions that I can answer when I get back be sure to ask. I am so excited and anxious about packing!
