After boarding our two dogs for 10 days this past Dec, we are looking into alternatives.

Peepers has 'issues' when I leave so the stress of boarding would be too much for her, especially in her condition. And I can't have relatives or friends take sole charge of my her because of her daily pill and need for an IV every 3 days. Vet tech charges $10 per visit. That's $20 per day unless I can find someone to stop in to do food and water in the mornings. Otherwise it'll be a min. of $300 for someone to care for her. It could be *way* more expensive, but I've never a.) been gone this long and b.) have never had to deal with anything more than feed and water her before.

Ummm No ...you worry about your own Pirates ....Whats mine is Mine and what yours is Mine ...well at least Half of it ...Remember the Code ...Savvy

pirate:

Twenty-five percent and I'll buy you a hat...a really big one.

Do you also have a dog named Ella? :confused3

What kind of dog is Cinder? I'm a sucker for those houndish ears.

No, just Cinder - DS says her middle name is Ella. She's a beagle - actually all of our dogs have been beagles - DH has a thing for them, and I think there kinda cute too. However, when I was a kid we had a schnoodle and I would love to have one of those again.

My background is in electronics so we can hack into the PA system to prevent this travesty

YEAH!!!!

What the??? "doing the wives"??? :scared1:

Diane......dear .......where have you been...........

JR said while some were telling what their families occupations were he stated he did not realize we were "doing the wives" and then told Andy to leave it alone........he reallly needed to tell Randy............

OJennifer, it sounds like you and I have very similar (mostly boring) life stories. We can share the better ones over beer tastings. Never engaged. Never married. No sick or injured kids. . . of my own (explain in a minute). But 7 nieces and nephews keep me busy. :thumbsup2

I have some fun stories, mostly involve not being able to find things..... I just no fun "life" stories. Yes, we'll definitely have to catch up over beer tastings.

Hey did anyone notice that the tag fairy visited me.......

I make all these comments and look what I get........no groundhogs......

Thank you though beloved tag fairy.......

If I could have one wish I would send you to see my friend BIP....Please.....

Ohhh....that's a good wish! But then, won't the tag fairy have a hard time figuring out what color to make that tag? :confused3

I just searched on-line & Kingdom Keepers is being released in paperback on May 28th. I think I'll wait & order it.

So whats up with this other web site emailing me......... Wonder how they got my email............ I know im behind.............can somebody update me here ot thru PM. Thanks Mark

oooooh I missed that. I'm guilty of skimming lately. I can't keep up!

You couldn't find them? :confused3 That should be an interesting story. Gee I might have to suddenly acquire a taste for beer! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Okay, now that the Pirate Run for 22000 has ended and we're nowhere near 23000 hopefully this post won't get lost. Now let me try to catch up on the last few days.

Thanks for all of the wonderful welcomes from the other night. I didn't realize how lucky I was until I read all the comments. And I think this was better than a lottery ticket anyway.

I sure hope this means that they aren't overbooked. That would really stink! As of right now I am booked with a cat 9 gty. I hope to move to a lower cat if I can for $$ reasons since there is noone else in my cabin. But I'm definately not going alone - I'm going with 430 of my closest Disney freaks, I mean friends. (Oops, Freudian slip.) Now hopefully in the next 18 months I'll be able to find a roommate - either a friend I already know or someone I meet here on the DIS. I would prefer to not pay for a cabin on my own. The final bill is going to kill me. :faint:

I had to put these 2 quotes together because drinking was the only way I got through my education but now for the life of me I can't figure out how I survived it. I must have put my Fairy Godmother through the wringer back in those days. :rolleyes1 :drinking1

This got me laughing because I was wondering if I was going to have anyone on my side when I'm being teased for saying y'all. It doesn't seem like there is anyone else here from the south. Then I saw this line of discussion:

(Thank Goodness for BBB!)

Depends on how southern you are. Some people in my family would say "Yuns take whut ya can." Ask me for the pronunciation later.

They never wrote about this one in any of my dating manuals!! Maybe now that I know the strategy I'll be able to find someone and I won't be single by the time we sail! :rotfl:

The Lion King and Wicked are 2 of my FAVORITE Broadway shows!! I know I don't live in NYC so it's totally not the same experience. But I actually usher at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta so I've seen these shows and many, many more for free. Although I actually also paid to see Lion King and Wicked because they were so good. You are going to LOVE those shows!! :yay:

Lisa, I know a long time ago someone asked about whether the shirts will be available as tank tops (white and black of course) as well as regular t-**** but I never saw an answer. Will we have to do those as iron-ons or will we be able to order them?

Isn't this a great combo? Kathy makes drugs and I push them on children. We'll make for a great pair going to Cartegena. Seriously for me, I'm a clinical pharmacist in a pediatric ICU. So see, I do have plenty of sick and injured kids, unfortunately. Wait, let's focus on that I have plenty of healing kids - yeah, that's much better. I don't want to be a downer. :grouphug:

Good luck Mike! Let me know if I can help with any of your peds questions.

So sorry and so glad to see that you're back to yourself so quickly. Makes me feel like my "little" migraine that had me down Tuesday was nothing at all. (Yes, BBB, apparently I spoke too soon about my wonderful migraine-preventing medicine.)

Me too. Here's a pic of my little "angel."
th_IMGP1270.jpg

Her name is Kitty. Hey, don't laugh. Her previous owner named her. I got her at 2yo from the pound and was just too lazy to change the name. :confused3

Well, now that I've taken an hour to write this message I'm probably 12 pages behind again. I've just got to get myself out of the "lurker's" mindset!

Wow, that was one heck of a post.

Just so you know, while I am not a true Southerner, l lived in Atlanta for 13 years (not counting a two-year self-imposed exile in Birmingham, AL). We lived in Roswell and Duluth. SWMBO is a true Southern Belle, born in Miami, but raised in Peachtree City. She also used to usher at the Fox, where we used to have a subscription to the musicals series that came every summer (Phantom, Cats, Les Miz, etc.)

My dogs that are part-beagle also have first name + middle name = word sorts of names!

Speaking of good books ----
Anyone read the Disney endorsed book also by Ridley Pearson (Peter and the Starcatchers) called "Kingdom Keepers"?
I have only seen it at DTD but it is really good for that 8-12 crowd. Although I have to say I read it and found it to be very well done. It is about these kids who when they fall asleep at night they end up in the Magic Kingdom and have to go through all the secret passageways and solve a mystery.

Now, that sounds like a book for Julia. Found it on Overstock.com, and since DD is just about out of free time books, I ordered it for her. Thanks, Judy
