WOW! Some great pictures here in the last couple days!

Good to see you back on the DPotD thread YEKCIM... Your great "up-close" shots are what inspired me to buy a 12X optical zoom camera... so thanks, I gots me a new hobby...

Nice one- I miss the castle decorations also. I wonder when/what they will do next. It looks so plain now.

Just so long as they don't resurrect that nasty "birthday cake" motif.

My daughter and I were looking at some of our '04 WDW video last night, showing the castle, pre-glitz. She remarked as to how plain it looks w/o all the gold trim and characters, and I heartily agree. Of all the different iterations, including the "basic", I like the gold-glitz version the best, hands down. Certainly more interesting photographically.

Was this taken in Epcot? If so where? If not where was it taken? Great shot by the way!

Joe,

Glad to be back, and thank you for your kind words. To be honest, I have been humbled by the quality of the posts lately, and felt like mine were not really in the same league.

Glad you got the 12X zoom; I know you are enjoying the versatility. On our '06 visit, I shot +/-2000 pix, and I would guess that 75% or more were at the telephoto end of my Fuji S5200's range (38mm-380mm in 35mm terms). I really like being able to isolate the subject from the background, using longer focal lengths. I did miss a "real" wide angle, though, as 38mm is not really wide. My 8 YO (turns 9 the week we are at WDW) daughter will inherit the S5200, and I'll see what I can get with my new Nikon gear. Thanks to Gdad, I'll probably end up toting my 10-20mm Sigma around all week, as well, although I think the 18-135 (28-200 equiv) should cover most needs.

If I get any good stuff, I'll post here. May also start a thread on the Photography board for WDW pix *by* kids, as I'm sure my daughter will bring home some keepers that I'll want to share. Also thinking about having my picture made, in front of the castle, or other icon, wearing a custom made T-shirt with my Dis "handle" on it, and starting a thread for interested parties to post pix of themselves wearing such custom made shirts. A thought, anyway.

Not one of my best shots, but like I said before, I'm kind of running out of good pics...

That just means it's time to go back to WDW and take some more pictures! :thumbsup2

Thought I would try one. I am sure pictures similar to this one have been posted but I kinda like mine. It was just a quick shot as DS was dragging me somewhere claiming I take way too many pictures.

Jaymie,

That is a very compelling shot, and one I'll take the liberty to try and duplicate when I'm down there in July! I have the same problem with Mrs. YEKCIM (who is, herself, a pro photog) saying that *I* take too many pictures. I have to stop and shoot quickly and then guess as to which direction Commando-Mode Mrs. YEKCIM has steamed off in, leaving me and the little YEKCIM-ette in her wake!

I just wanted to say that you take some of the most amazing pictures I have ever seen...along with Joe, and gdad, of course. I have decided I am going to take a course(or two or three:lmao: ) in college...I figured I need a couple electives as I am already in college to be a teacher, and I really want to learn how to take some good photos....It's really funny cause when I see ISO and F/this and all, I am just stupified(if thats a word:rotfl2: )
