I noticed that gaydays dot com and onemightyweekend dot com list different park days for gaydays. For examply they both agree MK is Saturday but one site has Epcot on Friday and one site has Epcot on Sunday. Which schedule are people on this board following?

Also anyone interested in a Elle's Energy Adventure Gay Days meet?

-Danielle

Ok so I'm all booked and ready to go. If I go to Gay Days its usually me and a friend , now its gonna be me and him and his new BF <ugh> and a friend of mine.
We are going to go to one mighty party .

I have to be the good hostess as two of the boys have never been . We're using a combo of cash and points to stay at BWV and if on Sunday June 3rd you walk by the brewery at sunset ( or after ) and see a few boys drinking a few pitchers stop and say HHEEYYYY !!!!! princess: princess: princess: princess:

This is our first trip to Disney together, the first at all for DGF and we're very excited we could make it in Gay days. Although I'm not planning on taking her to the parks in their specific gay day, bc I want her to be at her own pace, but we definately are going to be at PI on thursday for the parties. Where would you suggest a nice romantic dinner? Thanks

A nice romantic dinner at PI? Not too many choices there, I'm afraid, but my personal first choice would be on the West Side at Puck's (UPSTAIRS). Not the downstairs cafe, but the second floor full service restaurant.

If you don't mean the DTD area, then Artist Point in WL comes to mind, or Yachtsman's Steakhouse (if you like beef) in the YC is nice.

California Grill at the Contemporary (time it to see Wishes) would be quite nice too.

Hope that helps a bit, and have a wonderful time!

Well, if you want something a little more romantic at DTD, you could do Bongos or Cap'n Jacks, as well as the WP dining room.

Raglan Road and House of Blues can be fun as well!

Where / how can I get a lineup of the live entertainment :dance3: at the Disney World theme parks for Gay Days (May 30th - June 4th)? I was hoping to get my tour planned before I arrive a the parks. Is there a way to see the Times Guide before I get to the park? I'm a convert to the Unofficial Guide to Disney's tour plans as it worked SO WELL for us last year. I'd love to plan out which stage shows and parades to see ahead of time (if I only knew when they were offered). Anybody got the scoop? I suppose SteveSoares site at up to a week in advance is the best there is, huh?
On another note of live entertainment, I'm looking forward to Bananarama:banana:  and Kimberley Locke at the Parliament House midnight Saturday, June 2nd!

I've never been, but my boyfriend used to work for Disney and was down there during one of the gaydays.

Although we are both young (27/29), good looking and in good shape, the whole pool, foam, show your body off parties are not our thing really. We do though enjoy good conversations (and debates), food, wine etc. This year however we made our vacation plans in September. Maybe next year we will book for gaydays to check it out.

People who have been (my boyfriend is bias), what do you think of the more low key, yet fun events? I guess in the end, I mean if its not our thing, we can always go off and do our own thing.

I just checked the price of going down for gaydays this year, and it's only $800 more then when we are going in September, definately not bad. Maybe 2008 GF for Gaydays is in our future after all.

I've known about Gay Days at Disney for years but never went. I’m so thrilled to finally attend, I’ll have a great time regardless of what extra events happen during it because I've always loved Disney World (& my one visit to Disneyland). The crowds being gayer than usual sounds like pink icing on the cake. Initially, I’ve planned to get to Parliament house for the midnight Saturday night concert as I’ve been a Bananarama fan since the 1980s. I may not make it (I’ll be turning 39! during this trip), and sleep instead.
I have FABULOUS touring plans for each park. I’ll be arriving late Sunday June 3rd to the park, so I’ve switched the order of which parks I’m attending using this formula:
Gay Days + Avoiding Magic Hours + Longest open hours
May 31 Thursday Animal Kingdom 9am-8pm (MK & EP Magic Hours)
June 1 Friday Epcot FW9am-7pm, WS11am-9pm (Magic Hours DM & MK)
June 2 Saturday Magic Kingdom 9am-10pm (AK Magic Hours)
June 3 Sunday Disney MGM Studios 9am / late arrival-10pm (Magic Hours EP & MK,)
If anyone wants a copy of my plan to save time standing in line, let me know. I can post it here.

If all goes well, my plans for Gay Days will be to attend from June 1-3. Hopefully things will work out with my truck driving job to get me there on those dates. Lodging-wise, I'm planning (currently) to book a room at one of the All Star resorts, but if I found someone to split room costs, sharing a room at one of the more expensive resorts on property would be a possibility.

I would like very much to know about your plans, since I'm going for the first time with DGF and although we love to be there for gay days, our main attractions would be the parks. I would not want her to have a bad time, with all the crowds and EMH . Its her first time at Disney at all and I want her to enjoy as much as possible. Thank you for great ideas and enjoy your stay as well.:goodvibes

Hi everyone my name is Don. First off I'm not gay. Second I have nothing against Gay people. Third how many gays are going to the parks this year? Never hears about this until a few days ago. Anyway my wife and I are taking our 4 year old girl to the parks. I'm a little freaked about the comments I 've read about flaunting the sexual felling around little ones. Bu the way it's niot just gays, whites, blacks, etc. I don't care for her to see two grandparents making out, two straights, two gays, it doesn't matter and it is not approparate place. I wouldn't make out with my wife in front of others. Just like I wouldn't talk on cell phone in church, eat lunch during a funeral, fly a kite in thinderstorms. Some things are just not to be done in certain places. Comments please.

I'm curious, why is this post only your second post on the Disboards?

That is, you'll find us all very friendly and always up for a good conversation, but it's nice when we can talk with folk who have some track record on this board, folk we've come to trust as reliable conversation partners. Otherwise it sort of feels like a "drive by."

Drive by? I just signed up 10 minutes ago. I'm friends with a few gays that's not a problem with me. It's the showing of affection by ANYBODY. gay straight black white yellow purple green it doesn't matter. If I was in a mall and saw a man and woman making out I would say it was very inappropiate. just the same. Anyway I hope everyone has a good time and enjoys florida. I just don't want my 4 year old to see public affection.

OK, well hang out on the boards for awhile, get to know people and then ask the same sort of questions and we'll be happy to talk.

In the meantime, please don't post anymore on this thread because we're trying to keep it as an informational sticky :)

If you do want to continue the conversation you started then please start a new thread!

Ok Thanks for welcoming me Viki as far as informational goes is there a set date for each park?
I believe Magic Kingdom is mostly Saturday right..
also enjoy this quote I found

Only in America ...

do drugstores make

at the front

jlewisinsyr! HEY! I'm an SU grad! LOL.

Anyway, my partner and I attend, but very low key. We are definitely not into partying of any sort. Old stick in the mud fuddy duddys, that's us! LOL

We enjoy just walking around and being part of the community of family that is here during Gay Day time. It's wonderful to feel the increased enthusiasm and enjoyment of the parks during that time.

All that to say, attending low key is great! :thumbsup2

With regard to the poster asking after the schedule, there are more than one. See the Gay Days and Gay Day respectively, web sites for a complete listing.

You know, I have never been to ANY theme park and not witnessed hetero teenagers making out in line...Married hetero couples holding hands etc. Public affection is everywhere and all around us...in every venue and walk of life. The notion spending any time in the world and not seeing any public affection of any kind is pretty unrealistic. I think that you are bothered more about the idea of it being same-sex.
Gay Days is more about being able to be with your partner and friends at Disney...the freedomn to not hide who you are. For the most part, I have not witnessed a lot of making out etc...Certainly no more than you would see on an average day with heterosexual couples...What I have seen is alot of hand holding and smiles and happiness...

At the Gay Day dot com website there are discussion boards where folks are looking for roommates. Good luck with your trip planning.

As a disclaimer, I know the specific times :hourglass I've projected onto my plans aren't likely to happen that way, it just gives me a guide as to where to pick up when / if we stop mid-plan and then resume our tour.
Here is my current draft of the touring plans. 3 of them are very strong plans Notice in parenthesis some attractions I will miss. Since I live in Florida and have visited many times, I'm more interested in hitting my favorites and the live entertainment. Alternatively, you can insert that skipped attraction in that part of the plan and skip something else – or REALLY hustle! One good point of the plan is that Fantasmic! is currently the final night show (the best for last). The weakest plan is Sunday by missing early touring for church I’ll miss the most valuable touring time at the park.
