Thanks for the hopeful thoughts ya'll! I really appreciate it. My grandparents raised me after my Mom died when I was young so this is something I've been dreading. But, gotta do it!

If anyone would like a laugh-I've uploaded the pics from this years Mascara race and Hamster Derby. My DH doesn't always look like the pic below, but we've always supported this fundraiser for the Arts magnate school. Basically it's a drag race- a guy starts in tee and shorts eats chili cheese fries and in a number of stops gets dressed(with the help of his pit crew-which I head up for our team!) in evening gown, etc! They raise money which gets turned in before the race. DH won overall last year, and most money raised in 2005.

The other is the Hamster Derby, which was Friday night. NO hamsters were harmed in the course of this race and they all have loving homes! It's like horse races and there's a big auction afterwards of donated stuff.

WARNING: These can be a little racy- but funny none the less.:rolleyes1

If you hit "View All" at the bottom of the page it puts everything on one page. Sorry, I haven't figured out how to get it to do that by itself yet.

Oh, and Joey's hat- My wedding ears from WDW 2002!:lmao:

Lori, thank you for sharing those. What a hoot!!

Dinner tonight will be the Hamburg Gravy from this thread. Gotta use up the ground beef! I'll be packing up all the suitcases today, and stashing them in the van. We are leaving early Saturday morning, so I want to get as much done as I can. DH better get on the ball and pull his clothes, or he'll end up wearing what I pull for him.

If he's like my DH, he wouldn't care what I packed if it meant he didn't have to actually think about it himself. When we were first married, I tried to make him pack his own suitcase and I don't know if he was feigning helplessness, or if he really was clueless, but after watching his pitiful attempt at packing for about 30 minutes, I took over and have had the job ever since. Ah, for the carefee days of my youth when I could throw an overnight bag together for myself in 15 minutes and be on the road.

I hope you have a great trip. Please report back, especially about the food.
:goodvibes

Here's a bit of Food and DRINK Porn for you guys.

Lauren, I'm sending this drink for you & your DF too!

It's last night's salad with steak & the Limoncello Cosmopolitan.

Sheryl, that looks divine! What time is dinner tonight? ;)

Tonight I'm making Mexican stuffed pasta shells, spanish rice and refried beans!

Have a great day all!

Is that recipe posted? It sounds wonderful.

Tonight, I am planning to make pork chops with honey and soy and some sort of veggie, but I may have to get take out. DS told me last night he has to wear long dark pants and a white polo to school tomorrow. Of course he has outgrown his pants so if I can find some on my lunch hour, I'll cook dinner. Otherwise, I'm shopping this evening and the family is eating who knows what.

Will do.

Be warned, though. The food selection is not as great at DL as at WDW. But I'll be happy to share with you what we eat and where!

DSis is going to be impressed with all the food porn pictures posted in her absence! The dinners look yummy.

Caili had a Kindergarten orientation this morning. I almost cried when I dropped her off in the room. I am going to be a mess in September.

WFD tonight is either tomato tart or clam chowder. I can't decide. Last night, I said I was making sandwiches, but I made pasta fresca instead. (Obviously, I went to the store and got some tomatoes.)

I remember when my son started kindergarten. I cried all the way home.

Kindergarten is such a big step, isn't it? I think it is for the kids as well ;)

I'm teasing, but I remember when my youngest started kindergarten, I cried and cried....and then I cried for what seemed like 6 months when he was graduating from high school :sad1:.

When your little one starts just let us know and we will be there.

Kathy- looking forward to the mex. stuffed shell recipe.....we had some at a potluck neighborhood bon fire party one year, and I never did find out who had made them to get the recipe!!
I am mailing out your package tomorrow...got a few days behind on things with the power issues.

liamandcaili-----Hugs sent your way......like Nancy said we will be here for you come that day..............I cried all the night before with ds, dh took the day off we put him on the bus, followed it to the school, went in the school, as I just had to make sure he was OK and wasn't lost etc....left the school and then dh wanted to go to breakfast....I think I ate one bite, and sat there just waiting for it to be 2:15 when he would be home, lol.
5 years of it later I still hate the first day of school, but I don't cry anymore, lol. I am looking forward to summer vacation....20 more days to go!
Nancy- I can't even imagine what it will be like for ds's senior year....I will be a mess for all the final everythings...
Just yesterday ds informed me that he is no longer a kid but a "pre-teen" as he is now in the double digits.....WTH??? let's just say I had a second glass of wine with dinner, lol....

liamandcali, Sending more hugs for you! :grouphug: That is tough!

My worse time was DD senior year & sending her off to college! Only an hour and a half away mind you. But I was depressed for months! I gained the Freshmen 15 instead of my DD!

I'm the bad mom....by the time our youngest kids went to kgarten, my friend and I had the whole day planned and were doing a little jig as the bus pulled away! Altho my first was a little sad.

I just got a recipe while I was getting my hair cut (and the grey ones dyed!) that seems really simple. I'm trying it tonight, so I'll let you know. She said she marinates chicken in Paul Newman's Sesame Ginger salad dressing and then grills it. So....side of rice and a salad and I"m done!

I do have a pizza from a fundraiser in the fridge....JUST incase!

Kathy, Those shells sound good! But nosy me wants to know what's coming in the mail from Wendie?! Because if it's Maine Lobsters, I'm going to be waiting outside your house & hijack your mailman!

That sounds really good, Lynne.

I was kind of sad when my first child entered kindergarten. It was worse for me when my son went to kindergarten. Next August, the twins will start kindergarten, and I think I'm going to do cartwheels all the way to the bus stop!!! I am so ready for them to be in school, but more importantly, they are ready to be in school!

Hi to all - I am finally cooking something noteworthy (somewhat) - Asian Style Grilled Turkey Burgers with Pickled Cucumber Salad :)

:lmao: Nah, I wish!!!!! It's Sweet Baby Ray's - I've heard so much about it and I've looked everywhere down here for it. Wendie was sweet enough to send me some!
