So... I counted 51 DIS folks represented on that 1st posting tally. Just for the record ... I did not double check how many were this or dat... but accepting those numbers as true... with 30 still on the thread and sailing with us... that's not bad. HOWEVER, what I find interesting is 10 of this number appear as "not part of the DIS community" anymore!??? THAT has me curious...

... does this mean we have THAT many transitory folks wanderin' 'round here and there on the DIS? I guess I'm only surprised because I spend my DIS time mostly with regulars here and ... in the past I've done mostly the same thing on the cruise meet threads we were booked for.

OH yeah... I do lurk elsewhere on the DIS too... however more authoritative folks usually beat me to replying on the fun questions in the general boards. snif...

We have had lots of people 'disappear' from our MED thread on July 28th, but a lot more, ''join' us, I know a few find keeping up with more than two active threads difficult, now my Med one is very active it takes a lot of my time up, i know there are about 5/10 Dissers there who are on this 2008 cruise and most likely will start posting in August etc.

Some people have said as this thread moves on so fast is hard to keep, up, I know how they feel now as I haven't the time left in the day to do two myself.

I am having to cut back as the Med IS LOOMING FAST,!!! and I have like 400 posts to catch up there each night.

Diane---boy when you said to "drop the monkey" all I could remember was that started in chat but I could not remember what we decided it meant..... I was picturing Todd being drunk and dropping the monkey appendage and then throwing a fit.......See Todd how truly inspirational you are.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

see in the 80's we shocked the Monkey ....now we Drop the Monkey ....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hugs Laura for your friends........there sounds like there may still be hope....

Since we are discussing serious stuff for the moment.....NASA launches this Friday at 7:35 or so (unless it is scrubbed or postponed) but anyway one of the mission specialists on board is someone that went to high school with me in El Paso.....His name is Danny Olivas. So please keep those gentlemen in your prayers. I am especially nervous with this launch. I always get kind of queesy but I am really nervous for Danny. We are going to try and drive over. Every single time I have driven all the way there....they have scrubbed the launch.

FOr those who have HD NET channel... they are doing a LIVE broadcast on the shuttle launch on Firday at 3PM California time! It's a 2 hour broadcast so you probably don't wanna DVR it unless you want to wipe out a big chunk of your storage capacity. At any rate.... if ya can't be there with yer feet at least you can be there with your eyes and spirit! And if ya can't watch it live then maybe this would be a good one to DVR!

If I DVR it though I would probably lose a lot of childrens' shows which I've recorded.

Melissa has to be a saint to put up with Todd. Glad you had a great time!!!

The people who saw them in the show at Wavebands last Dec. probably wouldn't exactly call her a saint.:rolleyes1

but yes Todd & Melissa are good peeps....

um Hello ...he has always had a Pony Tail and a braid ..:lmao: :lmao:

My question for you is

SPOILER ALERT (highlight to see)

Have you incorporated the two little "devil CJSs" into your outfit? I think they would make a great addition. :lmao: Even though one seemed a little less devilish than the other, couldn't call either an angel, hence the two devils.....

Of course, trophy kids are quite different than trophy wives....

I had to chime in on the trophy wife concept... I've seen so called "trophy wives" whom I think of as nothing but home wreckers. ANd they themselves are looking for the superficial.

Now ... on the OTHER HAND.... as for the concept of the trophy husband....

In case anyone is intersted, I just received the following message in an e-mail................................

Watch the P & O Ventura float out ceremony live online on June 8th 2007

She will carry over 3,000 passengers and 1,200 crew - enough to form 390 football teams. Her horsepower will be equivalent to that of 190 Ferraris. Plus at 290 metres in length, she will be 22 metres longer than Tower Bridge.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see this magnificent superliner take to the water for the very first time. Ventura’s float out ceremony can be viewed live on our dedicated Ventura website on 8th June at 12.30pm (BST).

Making a splash live on our webcast, the family friendly superliner will have a newly-minted silver two pound coin and a new Euro welded at the foot of her mast for good luck.

See the big event live from the Fincantieri shipyard, just outside of Venice at 12.30pm (BST).

Well...

... when our thread here gets busy again I suspect I'll fade to a pace that will have me posting PMs again is substitution of some thread postings. That would be the only way of ensuring certain messages get read by the indtended recipients.

And... yeah... when it gets busy that does make it tough all around - but then it's not as if we're all LIMITED in our posting intensity by anything. Nor can we limit the number of individuals from posting.

Well... (again) ... I take that back. There IS a practical point at which the thread will be perfect chaos with say... 100 pages a day. Have we come anywhere near that number yet? Well... I imagine if we had 100 a day that would average 4 pages an hour... and for anyone wanting to just READ... that would be a pretty lengthy reading job.

OK... my Cheesy Chicken pot pie was far more yummy than expected. I think I'll be buying a few more of 'em before they slip off of the sale at Vons'. Of course, I imagine my spouse will have "words" about it. Speaking of which... I plan on having her come on the thread tonight (early if possible) to visit. SO tonights' special guest appearance might be... (drum roll, if you please)...

And that's Alicia with her brother Kelan from Boston above. Kelan and his family will be on the cruise with us! This was taken in SF just a couple weeks ago. OK... time fer me ta go now....

Everyone be good now... ;)
