CRV is a fact, according to Mouseplanet

This is the opening paragraph of this week's WDW park update in Mouseplanet.com.

It's a very slow week for news, so we're going to pad the Update out with some photos of the construction work on the future Disney Vacation Club resort adjacent to the Contemporary Resort's tower.

The photos have descriptions that talk about the C-shaped building, and where the parking lot is going to be.

Is there something they know that we don't?
I though it was all speculation on our part, but this guys are talking as it is fact.

I read this newsletter because they usually have very good information. Actually, to my knowledge, they were the first to announce that AKV were to come next (before the official announcement of course) and they are usually very careful about the news they give.

Does anyone know where they get their information and if it can be trusted?

Yikes....I'll have to take a look....

Usually their info is reliable.....hmmmmmn.....

DVC gives me a reason to stay at the contemporary:cool1:

It is not a fact until Disney announces it...which they haven't. Still just speculation.

Yep....it's there allright....

I don't think I've seen "misinformation" on mouseplanet.....

I think they will do CRV....but it dosen't make sense
to sell CRV when they just started to sell AKV...

Interested tidbit though, for any of you "wishing" for CRVs, you may want to take notice of the entrance sign to the constuction site which reads along the lines of: Contemporary Resort Family Suites.

Copied that from a post on the resort board.....

Maybe they are just doing suites.....and not DVC....makes more sense....

They could always change to DVC....if they can't sell
the suites for cash:confused3

If you read the whole thread you will see I pointed out the word Suites is now painted over.

I'm confused.....

I quoted irishhockey.....on a post that was responding
to a dvc post on a resorts board....that mentioned the CR suites sign...

I just read that thread I quoted.....and I didn't see
your post at all......
Maybe we are not talking about the same thing:confused3

Just because it is not announced doesn't make it not fact. It Just makes it an unannounced fact. There is no question this is at least going to be half DVC half CRV, if not all DVC. :teacher: Not in my mind.

My point exactly! Not announcing an unannounced announcement that was not never planned makes any rumor of untruth truth questionably hard fact.

I hope it is true-the DVC CRV!! As Doc would say----
STAY TUNED!!

deerh

Sorry Doc!!

Even when they are Officially announced they can still be non-existent.

So until I can book a room or purchase points it's only speculation.

After my recent stay at BCV I hope it is true and takes the pressure off of that.

15 floors almost guarantees at least some will be DVC. Some will be family suites, however, with DVC, there will be a lot more attraction for sales. I expect nothing will be formally announced until SSR is sold out. Save money for your add-on points!

hey I am more interested in that other rumor. that maybe some of the Cont - the suites might be converted as well.

then it could be up and selling next year. despite that building won't be finished until 2009 or 2010.

I really think that the CR is the only thing around (besides the Polyn) that could take some pressure off of the BCV. but it won't remove of all of it. some dvcers simply prefer Epcot to the MK. I did - but I am back loving MK again. Of course I am a night show person and I definitely prefer wishes to illiuinations.

party time! :cheer2:

Just as a reminder:

"Disney Vacation Club Development, Inc. operators of Disney Vacation Club announced today that, subject to approvals, it intends to open a 600-unit Disney Vacation Club Resort along Disney's Eagle Pines Course at Disney's Bonnet Creek Golf Club.
The yet to be named resort, which Walk Disney Imagineering will create, is scheduled to open spring/summer 2004 and will feature an inn building with a check in area, a restaurant/lounge, a themed pool with a slide, retail space, a health club and villa buildings containing vacation home accommodations."
* 61 acres
* the 7th DVC
* opening in phases
* Spanish revival architecture of Addison Mizner,
a 20th century architect

A foot note says the Beach Club DVC is "now scheduled to open in September 2002"

Another quote from that thread :

1. Eagle Pines Villas are not a rumor, I reported the roads staked out back in May. Thought they might be headed to OR instead of EP.

2. For Dell and those familiar with EP golf course - construction is already underway. (Yes, we have to golf around it.) New tees have been built for holes 9 and 11 to make room for the road back to the villas. Both have been moved to the right of the cart paths. Pretty much takes the water out of play on 11 - makes it an easier (and lesser) hole.

Announcements mean nothing, heck, even construction means nothing. But, hey, my fingers are still crossed.

yea but that was before WDW handed to DVC - DI.

DI was definitely much easier to upgrade - had the underground stuff. (except in the latest building). was in a more showable place. Lots of people visiting WDW never heard of DVC. but with SSR in their faces at DD - it is hard to ignore.

which is why CR would be a good place too. right at the door of the MK.

besides wasn't the eagle pines area recently sold to that hotel (okay must start remembering the name). that is out of the runing of beginning a DVC resort. besides DVC has 2 golf course resort - OKW and SSR - why a third one?

Disney's second best kept secret. ;)

I guess they'll tell me that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father next... Geesh!
