Thanks :goodvibes

Yeah I'm afraid we may have to take out a personal loan what with all the photo ops from Shutters. But we should have plenty of memory chips for the cameras. I've been debating on whether to take the laptop or just getting that Sony DVD burner with camera chip slots. http://Sony.com/dvdirect
Either way, we can then offload the raw photos to disc so we won't need 10 chips per camera and instead only have 3 or 4.

Oh just had to put in my 2 cents - thanks for the Xmas suggestion - I forwarded this to DH - seems he "doesn't have any ideas of what to get me...." :rotfl2:

I know it is strange, but I really enjoyed advanced math - stuff like multivariate calculus and non-euclidean geometry were a blast. This probably has something to do with why my bachelor degrees are in physics and mechanical engineering! However, I found the engineering to be pretty dull in the real world - mostly just do the same calculations over and over. I got a masters degree in computer science in night school - I really enjoyed the programming classes and even the theory stuff was pretty fun.

I don't know that "blast" is the term I'd use! :headache: I can't remember the last time I had to compute an integral to find the area under a curve. Oh snap! Yes I can, in college! Nowadays, I've got coworkers who are MATLAB jocks to do that for me :teeth:

NOt a double quote just forgot the real reason for my post - what do the words at the bottom of your siggie line mean? And what language is that? Just being curious.

"If you are crazy enough to read this add it to your signature" spelled backwards....in English. ;)

So if I am going to stay up until almost 1 am on a school night, the least the Tribe could do is win the stinkin' game. grumble grumle grumble

Sorry but you know I can't let that go without saying.....GO SOX!!!

Doesn't matter.....either of you can c'mon over next week for Rocktoberfest! We can head over to the adjacent forest to forage for food, maybe an elk and a mountain lion for appetizer!

Even Nathan can say "Go Wocky! Go Wocky!"

I guess that's why we have digital cameras and lots of memory (sort of a make up ....)

I can't complain, my DW got me the Canon 30D for Christmas...

Awesome gift! My DH is begging for one of those...you know the routine - I really really really need it for the TOAL." Maybe he'll get one for father's day...

DW is a Nikon & Leica "snob" so I got her the Lumix DMC-FX07 (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0607/06071903panasonicfx50.asp) for her birthday. It's a Panasonic-made camera using Leica lenses (Panasonic makes the housings and some internals for Leica's own digital camera line.)

This is her "visiting grandma or the zoo" camera so she doesn't have to lug around the big Nikon D80. DSIL has a similar model from 2005 and both cameras will fit in the waterproof housing (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ..._DMWMCFX07_DMW_MCFX07_Case_for_DMC_FX01_.html) which someone will get for a xmas gift.

As for the pictures - OMG! These are precious! How awesome - I wonder if I can dig up ANY pictures of me at 17/18! Much less have them displayed. One day I vow to get organized.

Debi - these are precious! Thanks for sharing - BTW - your both "hot."

Tom here is a stocking stuffer that DW could get for you and at $2099 it's a bargin. :rotfl2:

Growing up fast, Andy!! And so pretty. :thumbsup2

Once again, I'm behind and it will take me forever to ketchup. But at least the excuse I have is GOOD for a change. Been busy with therapy, for one thing...and it's going well. She'll have me whipped into shape in no time!!

And I've been able to get out more, as long as someone else drives...so that's been nice. The weather is perfect right now for a ride in the car.

Will check back in, after I get all caught up.

Stace glad to hear Rehab is going well. Keep reminding yourself of March at DL.

Awesome - your going to love it! I just yesterday watched my BlueCrane Introduction to the Canon 30D video that I bought from a going out of business store for the 30D - its awesome - I was supposed to be attempting to watch the video for the Canon Speedlite 580/430 EX video which I also got but was sidetracked with the DIS. Realized it had been some time since I'd been on - and now I am in a discussion of my favorite subject other than DCL - cameras. Shhhh? Do you think Capt Crash might make an appearance soon? Or Roger? They seem to know so much more than I do - I feel like a newbie. Which I do consider myself. Oh well, when I grow up I want to be a camera fanatic. :rotfl2:

 Hi Laura, we sure have missed you. Are you finally back home from all of your trips?

Do we need to send out a search party to find Chris. Have not heard from her since she got back from the Med Repo.

Hello folks - just a quick visit (if ya can believe that)....

I noticed at casual glance we're talking about under water housings. Well... these things can get pretty pricey... as in $1000+ for a DSLR housing... easily.

Well.... I don't use a UW DSLR housing - and only use a pocket digicam near the water = and I sometimes enclose it in a simple zip lock bag until just before shooting when I slip it out. So - in googling for images of a camera in a zip lock - I found this entertaining and dirt cheap water resistant housing project:

And here is a link to the page with directions on assembling one for YOUR DSLR... if you dare!

:wave2: Roger - last I heard she was going up north for a few months. Not sure if it had to do with family or a friend's death. I thought she wrote about it here. If not it may have been on the Med repo either way, I was just thinking about her also.

Hey Chris - we miss you too!

BTW, DH and I were just discussing the possibilities of taking a small cruise in Jan but it was just discussion and hopeful thinking - I think :tink: is superbusy trying to get all of us ready for our TOAL!

Ok what the heck is going on. Earlier this evening I noticed that my signature line was funky, so I went to edit it thinking I had too many spaces/lines. I edited it now something else is going on. Looks like my curse is back! Drats!
