Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread Part II

I need to order a birthday cake at Biergarten for next weekend. I'd like to call at a time when someone knowledgeable with cakes is there, but not when they're crazy busy. Any idea when that would be? TIA :)

Okay so here is the pics I promised of the mini-cake surprises!

The princess box is a treasure chest shape (called a 'jewelry box')... it has princess silhouettes and a castle one as well... the pirate one I believe has a ship on it (they're still packed in the suitcase!)... the cake does not reach all the way to the bottom however my husband and I LOVED the cake! We were celebrating our birthdays (near the date of our half birthdays because Disney in July is just too crazy! :rotfl: ) and they placed a candle in each one and we got a card at Crystal Palace. I had to eat the cake in two separate sittings! All in all we loved them and the boxes totally survived the flight home!

I'm getting DS the pirate treasure chest for his 4th bday and I'm so excited!! I'm also happy to hear you actually liked the cake! That's a +!

I just tried to order a cake for an Epcot restaurant. There was a recording stating the person taking cake orders is only available Monday thru Friday. They don't take orders on the weekend. I didn't try Biergarten directly, since I don't need the cake until next weekend. Just thought I'd pass along the info, in case anyone else was planning to call on the weekend.

Hi all!

This is a great thread! Haven't looked through the whole thing yet but am hoping someone can answer me a question!

I have always wanted to try the white chocolate slipper and castle and was going to order them this year for me and DH ,as a surprise at California Grill on our "fake-aversary" (long story!!!). However looking at the first post on here I think you can only order them at the GF - we are eating at 1900 Park Faire and GF Cafe at GF and neither of them seem romantic enough for it! So, what can I do at Cali Grill? Can I order a cake and have them pipe "I love you" or something on it?! Can anyone show me some pictures of cakes they have ordered there?

Thanks!:thumbsup2

Oh, and as we will be on the dining plan and get a dessert with that, will they bring the cake out instead of dessert, or do we get both?! Sorry for all the questions - never done anything like this before!!

We finally made our ressies for our 25th wedding anniversary, which is awesome that it happens to be on the year of What will you celebrate!! we went to Disney for our honeymoon (my first time) 25 years ago and many times since then...

One of my ultimate disney dreams is to have a disney 25th anniversary cake with the edible silver mickey stamps all over it delivered to where we are having dinner (to be determined) .. I belive the grand floridian chefs make them, does anyone know if it can be delivered to other disney restaurants? say over at say Jiko in AKL? otherwise we will have to decide on a restaurant at or near the grand floridian ...thanks in advance

We got this one at Chef Mickeys... It was pretty large and YUMMY!! There were 4 of us and we ate on it twice so I would say 8 people easy!

These look great! Can you have this made from any of the flavors listed in post one, or does it come a certain way? Can you have any message piped on it/?Thanks!

I've been thinking about getting my DD's a cake for their birthday when we are there. We are staying at CSR. Can I order those from CSR or do you get those someplace particular?

DS will be 5 12/26/09 and we'll be in WDW :cool1: :cool1:
he isn't a big Disney characters fan but he does like the cars and he likes pirates has anyone had those two themes

i know its way early but i'm a planner to the max!!

We had DS's 1st bday party at Crystal Palace. This was his cake. (I posted it somewhere on the old thread way back when so I apologize to those who see the repeat) :)
ETA- the cake was vanilla cake with white chocolate mousse filling and vanilla frosting. It was delicious and moist. I just asked them to put pirate mickey on it and to decorate it for a boy.

Does anyone know if you can order the Princess jewelry box cake at Akershus? I was thinking I might surprise my sister with one since we were originally supposed to go for her birthday in January, but rescheduled it for our Mom's birthday in March. I think she would totally love it.

Also would they be able to do it for breakfast? Our ADR for Akershus is for breakfast.

I wanna get 2 cakes this December. One to be delivered to our room at AKL and one to be delivered to CRT.

The one I want to be delivered to our room I want a Thank You cake from me to my DH for taking me back to Disney.

The one I want to be delivered to CRT is a cake for my 4 yr old nephew as it is his 1st time going to Disney.

Any ideas on those?

Or do you think it would be better to just do 1 cake, have it delivered to either CRT or to my room and have it be for everyone. DH, my Sister, BIL and nephew. My DH, sis and BIL have been to Disney before. So not sure what to really say on the cake. Any ideas?

Can you order the Mickey head cake from either AKL or CRT? That could be an opition as well, and just not have it say anything on the cake.

Hi, hope someone can help :flower3:

I would like to order a cake to come to California Grill when me and my DH are there. Do I order the cake hotline or CaliGrill? Can I order a very chocolately cake (like our wedding cake was) and have words piped on the top, or do they only do a certain type of cake / flavor there?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Dining and buffet restaurants. I'm going to get a couple of those for my DD's when we go end of May.

This is starting to drive me crazy. My daughter want to order something for my husband and I for ur 37th wedding anniversary for when we go in Sept. I have done this for them and my son before, so they want to do this for us. I did not have any trouble when I did it. I payed for it by credit card both times. Now I am hearing you have to pay for it when you get there? I sorta wanted to do it at GF and Narcoossee's but I dont know if I want to deal with Linda. then I thought we will most likely go to Ohanna on our first day. What does the Poly offer for cakes or other things and will they hold it when you go back into the park? Can anyone show me what they have gotten at the Poly.

I keep seeing the options of vanilla/ vanilla or chocolate/ chocolate. Do they not offer buttercream icing? I'll be ordering a cake at Epcot, if it makes a difference. TIA
