Another question - forgive me if I have overlooked the answer, I have been on this thread waaaaay too long today...

Is Winnie the Pooh allowed on a cake? Or maybe I should ask if the GF or somewhere in MK can do some sort of Pooh related cake??

thanks,
Mary

Pooh is not allowed on cakes. Milne's family owns the rights.

Not sure what the status is on Pooh copyright but there is a cake in the cake photo thread with Pooh on it that the poster got at Crystal Place in March 2008. I will go find it. :)

Either way, I'd ask before I give up on the idea.

Here's the link to the Pooh Cake

My mom has been asking me what kind of cake I want for my bday in Disney and I started sketching out some ideas. Does anyone think something like this is possible?

See if you can get the email address for someone at the appropriate bakery you would be using. Send them the picture you've come up with. Then ask if they can do something similar. It should be possible to do something pretty close to what you have drawn. It's a beautiful design. You might have to do away with one of the top designs and maybe not have Flounder on the sides but otherwise very doable.

BEAUTIFUL cake PatriciaH!

I'll be ordering a cake in September for Narcoossees from the GF Bakery.
You mentioned speaking directly with Pat at the GF Bakery. Did you start by calling the cake hotline? Or GF Bakery? Or GF Private Dining?

TIA:flower3:

I called the Grand private dining. Then spoke to Pat.

Hey guys!

Fresh back from the world and had an awesome trip. On Thursday night, we ate at the California Grill, and ordered a specialty cake. There was some type of mix-up and they were not able to fill the request. Instead, they far exceeded it, and made up for it by charging the ridiculously low price of $32.00. The cake was a 1/4 sheet, white cake, with fruit mousse filling, butter cream icing, with a chocolate graduate cap and diploma. The fruit was coated with a glaze and gold flecks, and the cake was surrounded with shaved white chocolate. It was great!

How far in advance can you call for these cakes??? I have a ressie at the Grand Floridian Cafe and I'm thinking of doing the cake that night instead of our night at Leceiller! My DD loves Jack Skellington anyone seen any cakes like that??

here is a picture of our anniversary cake from narcoosee's last year

What size cake is this?

I'm trying to get my brain-wheels turning for my anniversary cake, and this size looks perfect.

JunebugFL, Way back I want to say at the beginning of this thread there was an Ariel cake looking somewhat like your drawing. Actually the more I think about it, it may have been a nemo cake. But when I saw your sketch it reminded me so much of it.

I dont know exactly where it is on the thread. Perhaps someone else can find it and repost it here for you. Maybe the person who found the Pooh cake.

I remember it looked so pretty with the water colors and stuff. Hopefully others on here will remember it too and repost it for you. It is probably going to be way expensive, but perhaps if you go with a smaller version it might now be that bad.

Hope that helps a little.

We ordered a cake last month at the California Grill for my dad's 60th birthday. It was a white cake with the buttercream frosting and a strawberry cream filling. It was DELICIOUS! It was the 10 inch cake, way too much for the 6 of us, but it was what I had to order for the goofy image. They served us perfectly, waiting until after wishes for the cake to come.

I recommend 100% cakes from the California Grill and they were a delight to deal with from beginning to end.

what you are looking for?

Birthday/Special Occasion Cakes

Restaurants:
Six-inch cakes are available at most Disney full serve restaurants for birthdays and anniversaries. Other cakes are also available and must be ordered in advance by contacting the individual restaurant.

The six inch celebration cake is $21.00 (plus tax and gratuity.) These do not require advance notice and can be requested at the podium of the full serve restaurant.

If you want a personalized, custom made cake, you can order it via the Cake Hotline: 407-827-2253. This requires 48 hours advance notice.

Resorts:
If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you can order a Celebration Cake to be delivered to your room through room service or through the resort guest services.

Yes, they do. If you want it in your room then yes, in-room dining.

I have bee trying since LAST WESNESDAY to speak with someone at POFQ to arrange a birthday cake for my DH birthday on the 9th. Despite 4 voicemails and a fax no-one has comeback to me :confused3 I wa on the phone for another 20mins tonight and the CM kept apologising but even she couldn't get hold of anyone!

Just how difficult are Disney trying to make this????? I thought this was the year to 'Celebrate'!? We leave the UK on sunday and time is rapidly running out if I want to order this for Monday.

So, I'm trying again tomorrow with the fax, if that fails anyone have any other bright ideas?? I'm only after a Mickey Head cake! nothing too elaborate.

I was trying for POFQ as we'll be in MK/Tony's for Dinner on his actual birthday and I really don;t want to be carrying leftover cake around with us. So, anyone any ideas - please :worship: Can I order direct with BW bakery and ask them to deliver to hotel? Would they charge me for this?

Appreicate any help.

TIA
