What to avoid

These are what I now avoid:

Astro Orbiter and RnR -- made me sick
Backlot Tour -- way too boring now, and takes up too much time
ABC Commissary -- worse food I have EVER eaten
The Stunt Show at the Studios -- I really hated this and thought it was overrated

i wouldn't recommend the sandwich plan picnic in the park at AKL. the pre-made sandwiches were the same as you would get in a convenience store. AKL has much better counter service options, but maybe the hot ham or chicken platters are better. Plus, there is really nothing special about the actual picnic in the park--you just go pick up your food and sit down where ever there is space.

I would not do the Maelstrom boat ride in Norway. The ride itself was kind of fun. After you get off the boat you have to wait for these doors to open up for a short film. We must have been the first people off since the last show--I don't know how long we waited for the doors to open--maybe 10 or 15 minutes. :rolleyes1 Me and my SIL were both irritated by this. Our feet were tired and we were ready to move on.

We started talking to two former CM's. They told us just to walk through--no one stops to watch the movie. I just see no point in trying to force people to watch this short film.

Thanks for the tip on this one. I don't wish to watch any of the movies in Epcot. I have other things I want to do and see more.

This was the worst ride! I have asthma and the smoke they release during the show set off an attack. Won't ever go on it again.

We don't do rides that get you wet. I love splash mountain, but the risk of having wet pants (and undies) for the rest of the day, or a few hours, isn't worth it (happened once). So we've never tried Kali River Rapids - I would do it if I could change into water clothes (swimsuit and nylon shorts) then change back, but that seems too much trouble.

I agree about the thrill rides - if you have young children. Don't force them or try to trick them - just wait until they want to go. Same with the characters - my kids were very shy of them, especially my DD, when they were little, so we walked by, waved maybe, but didn't stop to take pictures with them when they were young. They can be frightening to little kids sometimes, and if you sense that, don't force it.

amen on stitch.... uggggg i can smell it now... DD said it was gross and she didnt want to go on it again..

i am another one for it's a small world too.. i would like it if the song wasn't playing NON-STOP.

While the weirdo in me still loves this ride, I do want to warn you about Dinosaur! at AK. The first time we went on this ride we asked the CM if it would be OK for our DD (6 at the time). He said as long as she isn't scared of the dark and loud noises, she'd be fine. And while he didn't lie, he also didn't explain that there are VERY LOUD noises in that ride and the robot dinosaur at the end of the rides literally roars so loud in you face it rattles your teeth:scared1:. You also get jostled around like your a milkshake. The whole thing proved to be too much for our DD and she was crying her eyes out by the end of it.

Primeval Whirl at AK made all three of us feel terrible. Maybe if you like spinning stuff it's OK, but it seemed to me to be rough, jerky, and spinny!

And I would recommend if you only have time for 1 show at AK, try Lion King instead of Finding Nemo. Nemo bored my kid to death.

Stitch was one of the things I felt like I'd wasted time waiting in line for this one......and I'm easily entertained! LOL (once was enough to last a lifetime)

Dinosaur was WAY LOUD - like REALLY loud!!!!!

I agree. It is VERY LOUD and VERY ROUGH!! But it does make for a great ride ;)photo! lol

Although I would go on Stitch again if someone in my party wanted to, I would never chose to do it. Also, our family didn't like Kim Possible; it was a waste of time.

For me it's the Dinosaur Ellen thing in Epcot and the car stunt show in Disney Studios.

For me it's not Disney till you laugh through It's a Small World. :rotfl: I remember being a teenager and thinking "how dumb". I still think it's a dumb ride, but also a must do for "old times sake".

My list of things to skip:
- Tiki Room (Under New Management), bad story, bad sound
- Stitch (see other posts for details)
- Bugs Life (loud and chaotic)
- Honey I Shrunk the Audience (loud and chaotic)
- Journey into Narnia (basically watching the trailer for the movie in a cheap museum)

We rode this 3 times on the last trip and the doors were open for us to escape every time. I would not skip it...partly becuase it is a cool, air conditioned, sit-down break from the heat and walking in Epcot!! LOL!!

I agree with this one... it made my DH have back pains for the rest of the trip! It also freaked the 4yo out and made me dizzy.

I competely agree with the Stitch ride... it could be so much better. However, my DS (9) LOVES C of Progress.
