I'm good with set dates each year. End of Feb or early March I think is good. It just will never be very warm during that time of year.

::yes::

I like this time of year as well. Lower crowds, good (cool) weather and did I mention LOWER CROWDS?

Well, I know AmySue had a conflict during that week this year--her continuing education seminar is always that week. And personally I would prefer a little bit later in the year. Mid to late-March. It is sunny here today but COLD and windy.

Ditto--mid to late March is always going to be better for me than late Feb. into early March. And, I don't want to freeze at DL either. Not that I'm saying that I want it to be 100 out, but it would be nice to be able to ride the water rides without fear of hypothermia.

stacielee and I don't have that concern (because we don't ride the water rides!)

I like the idea of setting a consistent timeframe in theory, but given how many of our lives revolve around school calendars and the ever floating Easter holidays/spring break schedule I am not sure that it's really practical in theory.

This year worked for me because of when Easter fell, but I had to do some major juggling to make it all work out (as did many other Divas).

If we go with the mid April dates I absolutely will not be able to attend as we have 2 programs each year that are all hands on deck, every staff member must be there from start to finish kinds of events--one at the end of August and one in April. Unfortunately, the date has already been set to be 16th. Even with a year's notice, I would not be able to get out of working that Saturday, and with the distance between Vegas and Anaheim, there is no point in coming for just Thursday & Friday or Sunday & Monday.

I don't like rain while at Disneyland, even if it does produce lower crowds. I'm so done with worrying about crowds, unless a major holiday is involved because then I simply will avoid the parks. When I'm with the divas we are so on top of fast passes that the crowds don't really affect us.

If we pick a set month/week for every ladies trip, keep in mind that mid-March through mid-April is typically spring break time, and with so many of us with kids in school, there will always be several of us who won't be able to attend because our own kids will be on spring break the same week as the ladies trip, if you know what I mean. And of course, there are the CROWDS.

I would recommend something on the outside of spring break season.....like the first weekend in March (right before spring break season), or the last weekend in February (fairly quiet during that time of year), or the first weekend in May (right after spring break season, and with Mother's day being that month, it's a good reason for our hubbies/boyfriends to let us go without too much grief - hee hee). ;) :goodvibes

It's not the lack of rides or large ques that bother me with the crowds. You're right, we are DLR professionals and know our FP collecting.

It's not being able to walk down Main Street USA without getting stepped on or pushed or feeling like you are being forced into someone else's personal space that really makes me anxious and uncomfortable. Crowds like that scare me. :scared1: That's why I avoid walking through Adventureland or Tomorrowland when at all possible.

I have to agree with Callie. Collecting fastpasses is no problem. We're all pros at that. It's the actual number of people around so you can't move. Even on quieter days, Mainstreet, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland is crowded and you find yourself dodging through and around people. But when it's actually during a busy time, like spring break season, you can't even dodge through and around.....you're stuck in the herd, inching along.

These are the dates of Easter for the next 5 years:
2011 - April 24th
2012 - April 8th
2013 - March 31
2014 - April 20th
2015 - April 5th.

Early March for 2013 would not work because we would still have spring break crowds.

I hate that Easter always changes dates.

May sounds good in theory but with those in school facing finals and final projects, it would be very hard for us to get away.

There are no perfect dates.

I have an answer for that . . . PONCHO!! :thumbsup2

That defeats the purpose of even getting on a water ride.

Count me as another water ride avoider--I don't like to be wet and even with a poncho it seems like I have a tendency to get soaked. I was just trying to look out for some of those that do like the water rides, but only when it's warmer out.

Like me!
I plan on bringing my bathing suit, boardshorts, and a change of clothes when I go in warmer weather. I love Grizzly River Rapids!

Uhhhh, Christabel, in 2013, Easter is in LATE March, not early March. :thumbsup2

And for those of us in school, that is a temporary thing. We won't be in college forever, only a few years, so early May could perhaps work in the long run for us. :)

But we would still have Spring break crowds. Isn't that what everyone has been saying about next year's two top dates? Spring breaks always run the month of Easter and about half a month after it.

Why would we have spring break crowds during the first weekend of March? Usually spring breaks don't start until mid-March and run through April. Easter usually falls somewhere in the time frame every year.

because some spring break vacations have nothing to do with Easter. I know people who get Spring break two to three weeks before Easter or two to three weeks after Easter.

One thing we MAY want to consider is the block out dates. I know a lot of us have APS and I know that at least for this year and I am assuming next year will be the same that starting the 2nd sat in march every sat is blocked out from then on all the way through april and I think into may. Although I didn't go into may but I know all of june july etc is so I don't know why May wouldn't be as well but I know that the ONLY sat not blocked out in march for THIS year was this past sat the 6th.

I don't know how big of a deal that is going to be to people to have to pay for that day or if we just want to always make that sat an offsite day or whatever but just an extra thought to consider. :)

That's correct, so why would the first weekend of March be affected? Easter hardly every falls in March, and when it does, it's at the very end of the month. Are you sure you're not thinking of the first weekend in April? :confused3
