Steph and Tom's PJ!1/3/10-WP/WHR/AAP/ITALY-We won Best Love Story! Thanks for voting.

Before I go into the Dessert party, I want to do a list of things I am glad I did, wish I did or did not do. There are not that many because I mainly did what I wanted but you realize after the wedding of certain things you did not think of before.

Glad I did:

Mickey and Minnie. They were a huge hit and since noone knew, it made it even more special.

Had the dessert party. It was very yummy and everyone really enjoyed it and the fireworks.

Went with the buffet. I was against it but in the long run it worked out and there were so many yummy things to choose from.

Glad we got a van to transport us from GF to WP and back. It was so cold and to walk in my dress would had sucked!

I wish that I did:

Magic Kingdom shoot. I kick myself in the *** everyday over this. I should have done this instead of having the photographers at my DP. Im sure it would had been freezing(since the high was 45 on my wedding day and 25 wedding night) but I still wish I did it. How do you get married in Disney and not do it? Dumb I tell you, I was dumb.

Got the Model T car. I think it would had made for great pictures. I am not a cinderella person but give me an old car and I love it.

Used outside photography-I will leave it at that

I wish that I did not:

Have the photographers at the dessert party. Everyone was late and the photographers were there early. Instead of taking pictures of the food or setup or of the guests that were there they stood around waiting for me. I don't love the firework shots and thought there would be more. The pictures in America were not great IMHO.

In the end result, DH and I were very happy with the result of our wedding. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed it very much. Wish I could do it again(even just to wear my dress-I did not want to take it off!!)

Loving all the pictures and your TR! everything looks wonderful and like a lot of fun! thanks for sharing!:goodvibes
Thanks tammy for reading! It really was great. You must be so excited for your vow renewal! It sounds like it will be beautiful.

Dessert Party

My DP was originally at UK Lochside. On Monday, 3 days before we were leaving to go down to DW, I looked at the weather report and saw that on our wedding day the high was going to be 50 degrees during the day and 30s at night. There was no way that I was having my guests outside for a DP. I called Jen and let me say she is awesome. She was able to switch my DP to American Adventure Parlor and then allow everyone to go to Italy to watch the fireworks. Those who did not want to watch were able to see it from the AAP. It ended up working really well and AAP was a great location and beautiful inside.

We told everyone to meet at Epcot by 7:30. Of course people were late. Since a lot of our guests did not have park tickets then we had to wait for them to be escorted in. We did not get to AAP until almost 8:30. The guide we had was 80 years old and walking sooooo slow. She had this light she kept waving and people were folllowing and she kept saying stay with the group you can't go off. I was so annoyed(i can't say what i really wanted to do b/c this is not the place) So we finally get there and once we were there we had a wonderful time.

It was so damn cold that some people did not come to Italy to watch the fireworks. I even had to wear a sweater dress, leggings and my UGGS instead of my sundress and sandals. I am not thrilled with the pictures but what can you do

We had yummy treats also.
Double Chocolale Brownies
Blondies
Rice CrispyTreats
Assorted Freshly Baked Cookies
Seasonal Fruit Display
Ice Cream bar(which DH was so excited about and then it ended up being so cold. Everyone ate the ice cream anyway)

We also added hot chocolate to our drinks at last minute and I am glad we did(even though DH spilled it on me)

Everyone mingled for a while after the fireworks and then we invited everyone back to our hotel to drink at the bar. Some people came back, the older folks were tired and everyone had to get up early the next day for the Farewell Breakfast DH and I were throwing at 1900 Park Fare. A bunch of us went back to the bar at GF and MOH husband ordered TONS of food! And of course the alcohol flowed. :goodvibes It was a nutty time but fun.

Up next Farewell Breakfast and very sad news.

That was great you were able to switch it. I don't love my fireworks photos either.

Oh no sad news :sad1:

Congratulations! You and your husband look stunning and very happy - especially out there on the dance floor :)

I'm wondering if you remember how many roses were in your bouquet. It's beautiful and about the size that I am looking for. Any input is appreciated - thanks!

We wakeup at 8:00 am the next day as husband and wife :) I am feeling good and happy. We go to the concierge to get coffee and some breakfast goodies. I am getting ready to get dressed when my cell rings. It is my mom. I pick it up and she is hysterical. It turns out that my grandpa had taken a turn for the worse and slipped into a coma after he heard from me. He waited until he heard that Tom and I were married and then he realized he could finally let go. He did not want to ruin my day. They were in th lobby and being that my they live in florida my mom and aunt were leaving at that moment to go be there with my grandpa and my grandma. So I went down, said good bye and then had to put on game face since I was hosting a breakfast for 30 people. DH grabbed me, stepdad and my uncle and we all went to eat. I don't really have a lot of pictures being the situation that it was. I tried to smile and enjoy myself as much as I could.

Tom had a shirt made for me that said Mrs. My new last name :)

Squirrel!!! (we love UP)

After breakfast we said goodbye to those who had flights in the early afternoon and then went to Epcot. At 3pm, while we were in Living Seas my cell rang and I knew. My mom told me my grandpa, the war hero, at the age of 91 passed away. He waited for me to have my day because that is how he was-selfless. I was devastated.

We were going to go back to NY but my mom said to stay and enjoy our honeymoon. The funeral was not until Sunday 2 days after we got back. I have to say i have the best husband in the world-supportive, understanding it is very hard to deal with these type of events especially when you just get married. We did enjoy our honeymoon and had a lot of fun times. I am not going to report it because that was a private time to me and my husband dealing with our happiness and our grief. It was bittersweet.

Thanks everyone for reading my PJ. I hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks Elliebride! DH hates to dance and I love it but he did really good with no lessons even with twirling and dipping me. I was impressed.

My bouquet had I think 3 dozen Round, French bouquet of lavender roses. Accent bouquet with 3 clear Swarovski Mickey crystals and 7 clear Swarovski. Feel free to use my picture as an inspiration.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just read your last post... so, so sorry to hear about your grandpa. Hearing how happy you were must have meant the world to him that day. My sincere sympathies...

P.S. I've been reading your PJ starting from the end and working my way backward. Great reporting!

Thank you for sharing your wedding .. so many lovely photos!

Very very sorry to hear about your Grandpa.. it must have been a bittersweet honeymoon for you... but it sounds like you have a wonderful DH who knew how to support you during the difficult times

It was bittersweet. Thank G-D DH was there to be my rock.

Thanks for sharing your wedding day with us! It looks like everyone had a great time at the reception. I definitely am going to have to try to keep Mickey and Minnie. I love the pictures of the food, I really wanted potatoes in martini glasses but DF insisted on the plated meal. Great dance pics, I have to get my DF to practice!

I'm so sorry about your grandfather, he sounds like an amazing man and I'm sure it meant so much to him to hear you were married and happy.

Everything was beautiful hun. It looks like you guys had a beautiful day. I am very sorry about your grandfather. I'm glad you were able to still have a great honeymoon.

Thanks Sara. We did have a wonderful wedding (even with the cold). I also wanted plated but DH was insistant about buffet(more food for the buck). It all worked out though. I kept trying to get DH to practice but it never happened. We were going to take lessons but just did not have the time. He did great though!

I appreciate the condolences. It was very hard for me and he was such an amazing man. He was my hero. and you know what after all the crap my mom gave me, if i did not have my wedding in florida she would have not been there with him when he passed. Everything happens for a reason.
