People who are wanting to plan for their Fish extender gift exchange . . .

"The cruise website will have a column for FE participants. There will NOT be a seperate FE list."

Here are my thoughts on how many to make/acquire:

According to Jeff, we have 266 people in 99 staterooms. I'd guess roughly 85-90% of them will participate in the fe exchange. I am planning for 100-120. I'd rather have a few left over to hand out with my tips or give to non-disers than to underestimate.

This is just me - i'm sure our FE's will overflow with bounty. Or is that overflow ON the bounty. Either way - there'll be enough stuff to satisfy the most rapacious pirate.

Are we going to have an "official" breakdown of adults, girls/boys and ages? I have a couple of different things planned. Thanks for putting everything together!

My guess is that the FE column is being added to the "Who's Going" list. So even a breakdown isn't posted it should be easy enough to figure out on our own.

wow, tess you have given this a lot of thought and time! I was just going to do one or two small things for each room - if you spend $2 a room, that's $200 or more! are people expecting more than that? I mean i'm not making stuff but i've found some neat stuff on line for what i'm thinking about. what's up?

You dont need to spend that much per room. I have 2 FE items and I only spent about 1.00 a cabin total. Look around..there is lots you can get for not very much!

So I called today to check on a interline discount for our B2B. They had only the first part available. The strange thing was, they only had Cat 5 even though it looked like all cat. 3-12 were open to book on the website. So the wait continues.

I know I am just a neophite. I have figured out B2B is back to back cruises. Is this any 2 cruises or is this a specific 2 cruises. What is interline? I can not get over the amount of planning some do. I book, I pay and I go with the flow. Does the cruise director make a difference? I have been on one cruise and have no idea who the cruise director was, nor did I care. So why the hubbub over the cruise director. At the same time, all the planning for FE, SM and everything else, this seems to make planning for the cruise a full time job and stressful. I want to enjoy myself. This just seems to bring a new level of stress to the cruise. Maybe I am wrong, but I would love to have some one set me straight. Just get my tail on the boat and let me leave the real world behind. I wonder how the other half lives?

I have not called DCL but I noticed that when I tried to book transfers on-line, there were no transfers from the port to DL. Is anyone getting private transportations to GC/DL? We do not want to rent a car like we did last time becuase we will only be going to DL and we can get DVC tranportation from GC to LAX.

I've been looking at ExecuCar private van service through www.execucar.com when I called for the 4 of us adults the one way to VGC was $67.

We got transfers from DCL to DL early last month.

Does anyone know how much the transfers from Port of L.A. to DL cost?

We're staying at BWI for 8 nights prior to the cruise, and I'll be booking Happy Limo for transfer to PC. We'd like to get to PC early - if anyone wants to join us, let me know, and we can book a mini bus.

It's blowing a gale here today - no picnic lunch for FD ! Yum cha instead :)

Cheers,
Sally :)

We'll be at the Boardwalk Inn as well from Jan 2 to Jan 4. Might see you there!

We're about to head out for the day, but just quickly - I haven't added our details for the FE (will do it this afternoon). We'll be a party of six in two cabins.

The family has decided the picnic's a go...... Ack !

Cheers,
Sally :)

Jeff will post when he is ready for the information

See the "Who's going" list on the website for the breakdown.

THANK YOU!

This old lady's opinion is - there is NO NEED TO GO OVERBOARD! Remember you're going to have to lug it to the ship in some manner, and the recipients are going to have to consume, lug this stuff home or otherwise deal with it afterward !!!

PLEASE DO NOT PM ME TO BE PUT ON THE FE LIST! JEFF WILL POST WHEN HE IS READY TO PUT THE INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE.

My suitcase is packed for the WBTA! We leave Sunday to spend some time at Disneyland Paris and a couple days in Barcelona before we get on the Magic. Alan hasn't gotten out or packed the 1st thing. Hopefully when we get back I will finally be able to spend some time on this thread.

I am still booking my Mom & her husband on this cruise. They are really excited about it. Mom has been buying lots of new outfits:)

Have a nice weekend and holiday tomorrow.:)

Two of our dear friends from the Med cruise we did in 2007 are also on that cruise.

For me, this is my 1st DCL. So, all the planning, FE, SM and everything else just heightens the anticipation and excitement for me. I made my gifts, and have planned for about 110 rooms. Personally I hope people like the gift, but if they dont, oh well. I am shipping the box ahead of time so it will be there when we arrive. Every bit of planning has been sooo fun for me. But yes, I do also plan to take it easy and just do nothing quite abit of time. You dont have to participate in anything you dont want to do. I also dont care who is my server, CD or anything else. I am just grateful to be there. I know there are others like me who like to plan and others who just want to show up and veg out for 2 weeks. Pick your spot, relax and have fun.

PS Havent really posted in a while. DD's wedding is less than 2 weeks away now. This is when the real stress begins. Planning and anticipating the cruise is the icing on the cake, lol

:thumbsup2

B2B are any two cruises, a 3 day followed by a 4 day (or the reverse), a 7 day eastern, followed by a 7 day western (or the reverse), etc.

Interline are discounts offered to airline employees and some cargo airline companies (Fedex, UPS, etc.)

We are right there with you on the enjoyment, rest and relaxation. Just like you, get our tails on the boat and leave the real world behind, is the only way to go for us. We don't do FE, SM or any of the other DIS activities, just way to stressful for us. We do enjoy visiting with other disers when we run into each other on excursions, by the pools, etc. Everyone decides for themselves how much or how little to get involved.:thumbsup2

One of my room mates, who has been to Aruba before, recommends the Banana Bus tour http://www.bananabusaruba.com/

The website says they tour Tuesday through Saturday and we'll be in Aruba on Monday. I emailed with them and they say if enough people sign up for a tour on Monday, they will run one. Apparently it is not necessary to pay to sign up - they didn't ask for my CC#. If anyone is interested in this non-Disney excursion option, please visit the Banana Bus website and sign up. In the comment section put "Disboard group"

Post one has been updated to include this information.

Couple if things....

Military deployments suck. Our party of fun on this cruise included two active duty friends of mine who just got married. Right now they're separated over 2000 miles, he's in MS and she's in CA. They're definitely meeting up in January. Just not on the boat. But in Afghanistan. Please keep them in your prayers. Kris is a very dear friend of mine. She kept me in line and straight when we were stationed together. Our cruise was suppose to be their honeymoon. Sadly, they won't even really see each other in Afghanistan as she'll be at the main airbase and he'll be in the middle of no where. This seriously sucks.
Remember, freedom isn't free. Someone has to pay for it.

I really have no desire to talk about this cruise right now. I think Jeff and I are going to drop off the radar for a bit....

Completely agree with you. I can't count the times deployment or tdy's got in the way of life, but you are right freedom isn't free and words can't say how proud I am of my DH (and all the others) for his years of service. Take care and everyone will still be here when you get back to posting.

So sorry, my heart goes out to all of you! We have 3 military members in our extended family and I totally agree freedom isn't free, their families and friends make tremendous sacrificies.

 I am so sorry. I am also very humbled by those who have served our country. I wish them safe tours of duty and a long, happy life together when they return. We are here if you need to vent and know that they are in our prayers.
