What did WE celebrate? .. 30 days of Disney fun and food! Update 04/02

Day 27, September 9

Breakfast at Sunshine Seasons

We still had quite a few credits to burn, so this morning we decided to spend two on breakfast in Epcot.
Since we wanted to do the Behind the Seeds tour we went to Sunshine Seasons!

We both had an Adult Breakfast platter - Bacon, Eggs, Breakfast Potatoes, French Toast and a biscuit. I am not a huge fan of CS breakfasts and neither is Tom.

But the eggs were nice and creamy - they had just started a new container of them, but my biggest complaint about Sunshine Season is, that the food comes out less than hot and until you make it to your table (and have taken photos :lmao:) your food is lukewarm at best.
Okay, back to that particular breakfast - eggs good, bacon, breakfast potatoes could have used a little salt and pepper, French toast was rather dry and we don't like biscuits in the first place and these were real nasty, hard and dry.

Our drinks were some coffee, for Tom, I had some Lipton's tea - not my favourite brand of tea, a bottle of water and a bottle of orange juice.

As I mentioned before, the breakfast got cold fast and we both binned quite a bit of it!

How much did we actually cost Disney?
54 dining credits
36 snack credits
Sunshine Seasons ...... 28,50 (2 DC ......... 16 DC remain)
2 Refillable Mugs ...... 29,80
Pop Corn Cart ...... 3 (1 snack credits ......... 25 snack credits remain)
Cost altogether ..... 1330,50 $

Next up - Lunch at Via Napoli

I have never tried the breakfast ast SS !But the lunch has always been good and the desserts are to die for !! In October we all ate there for lunch and Carol made it real simple she told them to pick either the pork or the chicken at the one station and then their dessert . They were fine withn that and all enjoyed it !!!

Rosie, it's like your regular "bouty platter" that you can get at any resort CS. We LOVE the desserts there and their lunch/dinner food is pretty good, but somehow it is cold before I can even eat half of it.
Might have to do with the fact that I am a truely slow eater, but SS is the only place I have real problem with it.
Last time we picked up desserts and drinks before we went to get our mains and still they were cold before I had eaten half of it - but then they have yummy sandwiches and salads - and those need to be cold anyway! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Breakfast looks delish, sorry it went cold so quick though :(

As I just explained to Rosie, it is only SS I have that problem with - but the lunch and dinner food is really good! :goodvibes

I am really enjoying your dining review! You ate at lots of wonderful places and took great pictures. I love how you gave the gaurds dounuts; what a terrific idea!

I am completely enjoying your dining review. Subbing in for the rest !! Love all the food porn !!

Morning Karin :goodvibes

Looking forward to hearing what you though about Via Napoli as we are going to be having lunch there in May :thumbsup2

Thank you! I am so glad you like my reviews!
We were truely lucky with our ADRs and even with the ones we changed last minute!
The guards do such a terrific job, and then they are overlooked so often. I really and truely enjoy the way they say "welcome home" and getting them warm doughnuts is our way to say "thank you" to them. They really seem to enjoy it! :thumbsup2

We have an ADR for Via Napoli in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait! Looks fantastic!!

We enjoyed both of our ADRs last summer and missed the one in February! Get the Zeppole as your dessert. Dipped into the dark chocolate sauce they are FANTASTIC!

Welcome!
Glad you found us! I really enjoy writing the reviews for all of you! ........ hmm, eating all those yummy treats was fun too! :thumbsup2

Day 27, September 9

Lunch at Via Napoli

After our breakfast and a few rides we enjoyed the Behind the Seeds Tour at The Land's Greenhouses.

IMG_7997.jpg

They even feed you during the tour - yip, you get to try a slice of Mickey shaped cucumber! :rotfl2:

Well, the cucumber wasn't enough to get us until dinner so we walked over to Italy for our reservation at Via Napoli.

We signed in and were not even handed a buzzer, we were led to our table right away. :yay:

They seated us at one of the small tables for two and then we were handed the menu.
Our server introduced himself a short while later and took our drinks order. We both had a Diet Coke and

I had a Strawberry Aqua Fresca. I had had one on our previous visit and it was really good, cold, nice taste of frest strawberries. Real treat!

IMG_8017.jpg

IMG_8018.jpg

Tom had a Lemon Aqua Fresca. Again, nice, tart, cold and refreshing.

We both had a starter (DxDDP).

IMG_8022.jpg

Tom tried the Calamari Fritti - corn-crusted rings served with spicy tomato sauce. They were different from the ones they had a Kouzzina, yet very tasty. I thought that since the rings were rather thick they might be chewy, but they were very tender. The sauce was a thick cremy, well spiced tomato sauce. No complaints here!

IMG_8020.jpg

I had the Minestrone Soup - vegetable & cannelini bean soup with basil pesto. This was rather different than the North Italian Minestrone I was used to. It was nice, but underseasoned and adding some salt helped the soup quite a lot.

IMG_8026.jpg

In a pizzeria that has a woodfired oven, the only option is to get pizza! ;)
So Tom had the Quattro Stagioni - eggplant, artichokes, prosciutto, mushrooms, which he enjoyed very much.

IMG_8023.jpg

IMG_8024.jpg

I felt like having cheese, lots of cheese, so I ordered the Quattro Formaggi - mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, provolone, which had lots of ooey gooey yummy cheese, but filled you up rather quickly. Even though I loved the taste, I was not able to finish it.

Time for dessert! :cloud9:

IMG_8030.jpg

Tom ordered the Torta di "Mamma Rosaria" - apple cake with almond sorbetto, which was not your typical apple cake. There was a nice and crisp pastry, lots of yummy spiced apples and it went perfectly well with the sorbet!

I had known what I wanted way before we had entered the restaurant.

IMG_8034.jpg

I ordered the Zeppole di Ricotta - Ricotta cheese fritters, served with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. They can be a little bland, if you eat them by themselves, but dipped in the slightly bitter chocolate sauce and with a small dollop of whipped cream it becomes heavenly! Next time we go I need to make sure not to fill up on pizza, so I can enjoy my dessert until the last bite.

Next up - Dinner from Wolfgang Puck's Express

Wow Via Napoli looks sooo good! I have been wanting to try it since it opened! Hopefully I will get to in October. The pizza will definitely be ordered!

Thanks for the great Via Napoli review. That is a lot of food for two people!

I just added a Via Napoli adr to our trip in May and I can't wait to try it. The zeppole look so yummy!

Karin the dessert you had at Via Napoli was my favorite when we went. I ate every bite! (I don't know how I did it after eating a pizza!) It was just that good. :lovestruc You described it perfectly, the chocolate and whipped cream compliment the fritters. :thumbsup2

Yum yum yum, great review :thumbsup2 Those pizzas look incredible, we are defo making time for VN this year, we skipped out last year as it was at that point that the DxDP was catching up with us

Hi Karin :goodvibes

Thanks for getting me even more excited about Via Napoli.

I can't wait until May :cool1:

Oh yes, I did sign up for the FE as well :thumbsup2

Via Napoli looks delicious! How did you like the tour in the Land? We're thinking about doing that one on our next trip.

Just wanted to say I have enjoyed your trip report for the past few weeks, and will continue to. Thanks for taking the time to share it this us!! :worship:

Why didn't I enjoy Via Napoli more? Could it have changed that much since the fall? Or, perhaps, it was an off night for us. I think I've learned one important lesson with this trip: don't both schedule anything super exciting food-wise for your last night, because by then, we had sort of had it with restaurant food.

Your pictures of Via Napoli look so good!
