Do you ever see alligators on WDW property?

This will be my 20th trip to WDW and I've never seen one on property.

HOWEVER, we did see some on that two-lane highway you take to get to Cape Canaveral. The road has canals on both sides and we saw several there. :scared1:

I took this road too and I didn't see any while we were driving but the shuttle driver told us that frequently the gators get hit by cars, which totals cars and tears up the undercarriage, and their bodies don't stay dead on the road for long because people come through and take the bodies to sell the skin! Crazy! The driver also said if you get a flat tire or break down on that road, stay in your car - the gators come up behind people! Scary!

We saw one last September near Port Orleans. They had some wildlife trapper out there relocating it.

There was a "baby" at CBR in August, he was maybe 3 feet long. Just hanging out in the sun. That is the first time I've seen one though. Like people have said they aren't everywhere, and I we weren't told about it I doubt I would have been looking.

I've been to WDW 9 times now. I watch each trip hoping to see one from afar, and I have yet to see one.

I thought Disney was going a great job keeping them off their property!

I will watch super close next time. I think it would be very awesome to safely see one in the wild.

We saw one that was about 5' long at the Beach Club Villas a few years ago. It was back in the water that is behind the quiet pool. Freaked us out!!!

Disney's removes them if they are over such a such a size?

I saw one offstage of AK sunning itself near a canal. It was big too.

Of course everyone wanted to know what I saw in the bushes, I turned around and 20 people are hovered around me looking at the ground in the bushes. I had to tell them to look 50 feet further, because there is a gator where I was looking. :)

Holy Cow! I would have fainted dead away! I've got to give you alot of credit!:scared1:

We've seen a few on WDW property. The first one was in Lago Dorado at CSR. They are allowed to stay until they reach about 4ft. The one at CSR was pretty close to 4 ft but he was just hangin' out in the water. There were a lot of people standing looking at him.....or perhaps he was looking at us. :confused3

We saw one last May in the water close to the shore between the polynesian and wedding pavilion at GF......It was so cool to see it, but scary! We also saw one about 7 years ago at the Beach Club in the water under the bridge to walk to the buses!

Wow...we've only been to Disney 3 times but I've been on the look out to see a gator every time.

We drove from BLT to the port (where there is a lot of swap land) and still haven't seen one.

I'm sure one day we'll see one...

As an avid golfer, I have to vouch for the pp who said they were all over the golf courses. Palm and Magnolia have their share, but I actually saw more of them on LBV which did surprise me since it basically winds through Saratoga Springs and Old Key West. Saw some definitely bigger than 6 foot. Left a ball near a mommy and her youngun because I figured I would rather walk through the parks with both legs instead of just one. :thumbsup2
