Your food all sounds so good! I'm also trying to come up with a menu that deals with picky eaters - my DF absolutely hates anything with onions in it, a good portion of his family is some version of vegetarian (some are vegan, some are vegetarians, and some eat chicken and fish but no red meat). My family loves meat! And my brother is the pickiest eater in the world - he basically only eats some form of bread products (pizza, mostly). My place has tons of the choices and literally the only thing he will eat on the menu is mozzarella sticks... and french fries from the kids' section
But it looks like you've got some really good variety and I would think everyone will be happy!
And I can see your monogram coming up, very nice! You're fortunate to have such a talented friend!
I love the bouquet and the dress and well, just about everything you've picked so far....
Thanks everyone!!
Sorry for the huge span of no posting, but I finally decided that maybe it was time to resurrect the PJ and try this again
For an update on our lives: DF graduated from college at the beginning of May, the day after we packed up our entire apartment and moved out to CT (where I'm originally fun), he started his full time job and I continued the job hunt and the hunt for a place to live. And then about 2 weeks ago I got a call being offered a full time position as a summer intern at the same company DF works for AND we found the perfect rental for us and we move in next weekend!!!
Oh and we also adopted a new kitten! Her name is Moonpie (the name is from Big Bang Theory...I'm a huge fan so it was inevitable!).
In wedding related news...I can't even remember where I left off
so forgive me if I repeat myself a little. A couple weeks ago three of my four bridesmaids and I went and ordered their dresses, now I just have to track down the last one and get her to order hers so that the shop will "officially" order the dresses (they won't order them until all the girls have gotten fitted so that they all come in at the same time). I also picked out a necklace to go with the dresses.
The necklaces are from etsy and will be made with fuschia beads to match the wedding colors.
I also bought a rehearsal dinner dress that I am in love with!
Sorry if the pic is small it's from my cell so i couldn't adjust the size too much.
We've also added an additional member to our wedding party. The flower girl has an older sister who was starting to feel left out not being in the wedding and since it was bothering me to have such a lopsided wedding party (4 girls, 6 guys, i know it's not a big deal nowadays but it was bothering me!) so we made her a junior bridesmaid and she is going to be escorted by DF's brother
So here is the dress we picked for the junior bridesmaid (she's going to be turning 9 next year so we wanted something inbetween cutesy and grown up)
So we picked this dress from Alfred Angelo and the sash with be in fuschia (BMs will be in navy and Junior BM and Flower Girl will be in fuschia). And the flower girls dress will be this dress also from Alfred Angelo
And here is the inspiration picture I'm using for the groomsmen boutonnieres
the only difference will be that the
lego figures will all be star wars legos (DF is a HUGE fan and so are his friends) and the flower will probably be a dahlia. I thought they were really cute and would personalize them for the boys.
We've also just recently decided where we are staying the week of our wedding! After much debating and LOTS of pricing we finally decided to rent DVC points and stay at the Boardwalk Villas for the week! Meghan (my MOH) has a coworker who literally owns enough points to rent I think she said 4 weeks worth of points to stay at BLT in a year so hopefully she will spare some points for me to rent from her. Fingers crossed!!
So our tentative plans for our wedding festivity are:
Sunday: check in to BWV
Monday: TBD
Tuesday: Bachelorette Party...i think! lol
Wednesday: rehearsal dinner at Jiko
Thursday: Wedding!! staying at GF for our free night
Friday: MK and DHS portrait session followed by drinking around the world and potentially a family only get together (it's very rare that we all get together since we all live so far apart)
Saturday: leave for our cruise
Our honeymoon is going to be a 7-night cruise with Royal Caribbean on their brand new boat the Oasis of the Seas!
We are going to be staying in an oceanview room with a private balacony and the ports are St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Nassau. So we are super excited! I've only been on one cruise (in December of last year over Christmas) and I've completely caught cruise fever. It's the perfect honeymoon for us because I have to constantly be entertained
so between activities on the boat and islands that should be enough to keep me busy!
I think that's about it for now. I have some more DIY projects that I'm finishing up/ getting ready to start. The list right now is:
guestbook, door hangers, t-shirts, tote bags, welcome bags, pomanders, etc. so hopefully I will be back soon with another update!!
