Can you tell me how long a drive is it to Vegas from Disneyland? Have you done it?
We have never been there...mainly because my daughter and I both have asthma and smoke kills my breathing...but in the back of our mind we are thinking about driving there after we recover from cruise at Disneyland :rotfl: and just spending the night so we can "see" the neon and maybe visit the flamingos. We are heading to SF to spend a few days with my best friend- who will be with us in Disneyland..but may be able to bribe her to take the long way home :cool1:

It is about a 4-6 hour drive depending on traffic

That is very thoughtful!!! I think they will be thrilled and I will be happy to keep your secret!! :woohoo:

Thanks, I know my kids will love them :goodvibes

Gee what a good idea....Is it too late for me to reduce my age a wee bit and sign up???? Ok, maybe reduce the age a wee wee bit more:lmao:

I know, right! The kiddie stuff is sometimes cooler than the adults stuff! :lmao:

Well, how many are you talking about? My daughter is a CM and she signs autographs all day long, and she does almost every character, so I could talk to her and see if she would be willing to do them. She could also personalize them for each kid. If she will do it, you would just need to send pillowcases to Utah so she could do them before we leave.

Thank-you so much for the offer! But I live in Australia, I have already paid shipping from USA (Amazon) to Australia, to pay for them to go back to America would blow out the budget! It was over $30 shipping already, on top of the cost of the pillowcases. Shhh Don't tell the hubby, lol! :dance3:

Hi all ... Haven't been around for a while ... Darn work and life keep getting in the way! ... Dang it! Anyhow 23 Celcius here in Ontario today (that's 73 F). Broke records!!! Waiting for the bubble to burst though, never this nice this early!

On another note, was wondering what was happening with the Doubletree discount rate.. I tried to email mickeymom923, but her inbox is full. If anyone has any information, can they please pm me. Thanks!

MJ

We've bought coconut buttons in Hawaii at the fabric store - big help I know.

We've also gone to the thrift stores and bought Hawaii shirts with buttons we liked and just cut the buttons off - cheaper then buying from the fabric store, if you can find them here. So the ones I used yesterday I cut off a $3 shirt I got at the Salvation Army. The warm brown looks really nice with the blue shirt.

You are so clever !!

I also put a note on the facebook page that some of us are trying to reach Bev about hotel reservations so maybe someone knows how to reach her since PM is full. I left a note a few pages ago asking her to contact me about hotel also.

She's already under orders to find out who the photo manager and some of the photog's are as well as the entertainment crew. I'm hoping for Tiza as opposed to Trent, the odious, dry, foul-mouth pig in a blanket (or oaf will work well too) whom is decidedly NOT funny nor personable in any manner (ok did I really just type that). Sorry, but he's not my favorite guy. He's arrogant in my opinion. Remember I've been exposed to Ian, David, Pikey, and now hope for a reoccurrence of Tiza but don't think she'll be on here. Sigh. Anyone else hope for someone else?

We all have our preferences and some personalities just clash. I think Trent and David both do a great job as club host. I've had a blast sailing with both of them. Of course, depending on my mood, sometimes I myself am a dry, foul-mouthed, arrogant pig. ;)

I sailed on the Wonder's 1/15/12 MR cruise. Here's what I know for Cruise Staff for Hawaii. The Club Host will be Daniel. He's new to DCL (shadowed Trent on my cruise, took over on the 1/22/12 cruise), but seemed quite nice. I've since seen reports from cruisers that he's doing a great job and is really funny. I believe Trent said he would not be on for Hawaii. I don't know about Tisa, but I only know of her as a Club Host so she couldn't be on in that capacity. Stephen, Becky, and Charlotte all said they'd be on. Ponz and Frankie would not be. I don't know about Drew, Emma, or (DJ) Laura.
Christiaan will be our Cruise Director, but I don't know who will be asst CD.

I'm wondering about the contract entertainment. The only confirmed I've heard is John Charles, but I haven't heard anything about possible headline celebrity entertainment (for example, we had Susan Egan on the Wonder's Panama Canal Cruise).

For whoever was asking about 20somethings sailing on the cruise - While my 20s are behind me, most of the guys in my improv group are in that age bracket and I'm used to dealing with them all the time.

Also, I know I didn't followup with anything for the DIS Navigator. I only recall a couple of people saying they may be interested in the improv workshop so I'm going to wait until we're on the ship and check out the cruise-at-a-glance page and at our meet & greet on the first day, I'll try gauging interest again. The beauty of improv is that it doesn't require me packing anything special or much prep work for that matter. :)

I checked Alfred and Seymore's website and it looks like they'll be finishing up a gig with Princess (ironically to Hawaii) before they go on the Fantasy. Not lookin good for our cruise. :confused3

I checked with Mimosa (formerly of the Magic) That's the Violin player with the guitar player. They haven't been contacted by Disney, so likely they won't be on, either. I was so hopeful. THEY ROCK!

Someone on facebook was complaining about the number of pages on this thread, lol. Remember the days before FB, when threads about cruises like this used to jump about 10 pages a day?

It was posted many many many pages back that Mike Super (Magician/Illusionist) would be on this trip, and seems confirmed on his webpage. Thats the only confirmed entertainment I've seen mentioned. I too am very interested in what kind of entertainment we'll have over 9+ sea days. Seems like it should be more than on just the usual 3 or 4 night cruise, especially since this is a very special inaugural cruise.

I was wondering about this too....I know she collected information and that was it. I have her email and I'll send her email right away.

And it is snowing here and my house :( And it is March, can you believe it?

6 weeks till sunshine :goodvibes

Snowing in Utah yesterday, last night and today. Suppose to warm right back up though, back in the 60's later in the week!

The snow missed us, we were supposed to get snow last night but did not - it has been cold though - 45F for high - but is supposed to warm up to the 60's by the end of the week. It is harder to take after all the warm weather we had.

I found coconut buttons at Joann's.

I was wondering if the candy swap groups are available, not sure if I missed them? Can anyone direct me?

Loved them too!! :goodvibes Sometimes they would be in the atrium in the evening, or out by the adult pool in the afternoon! I regret not remembering to add them to my comment card because I haven't seen them in a while. :sad2:

Sharon, I can't get the DIS search to work for me today, but it's Paula Sillars organizing it. She's easier to find on FB - it's a post near the top, and search is easier (and faster) there...! :cool1:

Judy

I've sent Bev and e-mail asking her to PM you. I am sure you understand I don't feel I can share any of the info, such as e-mail address, I was given when people ordered shirts, without their permission.

I understand the frustration with the DISboards, even though I understand the servers have been upgraded, I don't see any improvement, it is still slow and often times out. However, I personally have a thing about Facebook, plus they've locked me out of my account because I won't give them my cell phone number. I have no interest in texting - fine if others want to do it - but not while you are walking down the street, into traffic, while you are suppose to be in a conversation with me ............

On facebook this morning Tina, aka castoff, said she would call her so hopefully we will hear from her soon :)

Thats weird....I never gave FB my cell phone and never will, but I was never locked out......

:dance3: 40 days :dance3:

Oh Lordy...that means I have only 36 days until we leave! Birthday party, Easter and a few dozen Dr appointments to work around, but I will get us packed and going!!! I think I may take someones idea of not bothering with getting anything dry cleaned ahead of time and just stuff them in suitcase and send to ship cleaners when we get onboard :) Today we go get a check up on the car to be sure everything is road ready and go to the candy factory for our candy swap goodies...nice and fresh instead of unknown shelf life :)

Val - thanks...I also sent a PM to Bev as the Double Tree told me they have no record of her.....

I am not a facebook user either. You have to give them your cell...what if you say you do not have a cell?

Thanks for reminding me I wanted to ask this group about the dry cleaning.....Since our Formal night is our first sea day.....will we have time? I thought it took one day????

Thanks.
