Tell me something random about Disneyland

There's a hidden Mickey, or perhaps more accurately, a Mickey hidden in the Big Rock Candy Mountain on Buena Vista Street in DCA.

I only got to see BVS during the previews and some of the construction walls were still up. Can't wait to go see the full thing for real.

On Haunted Mansion, as you pass above the ballroom, look carefully at the fourth pane of glass. There you will find a crack, carefully disguised by a spider and web. Stories about how the crack got there vary from little boy with a sling-shot to man with a gun.

Here's an additional one. The glass panes in the Haunted Mansion ballroom are so big that in order to replace them they have to remove the Haunted Mansion top and do it with a large crane!

I finally got to see it last Saturday. The little trolley was running, and I took advantage. ;)

I don't have any to add but I love reading what everyone else has got!!! It's all getting me excited about our September trip.

DL used to hold a country fair celebration, and they put up a ferris wheel in the hub.

Disneyland address is 1313 S. Harbor Blvd. Some say it means M.M., which stands for Mickey Mouse, since the letter M is the thirteenth letter of the alphabet!

do do do do, do do do do....

LT :)

There are square trees in Fantasy Land replicating the unique look of Sleeping Beauty animation...I want a square tree in my yard!!!

hmmm I was wondering why they just didn't replace the glass planes in the railroad diarama and haunted mansion

I had originally read that they only had a couple replacement glass panes for the Haunted Mansion and the first one was replaced fairly early on. I guess those 2-story panes are pretty expensive and if you can cover a flaw with a "spider", then that avoids having to take off the roof and use a new pane.

Come on folks.... Tell me something random!

I know that you know something. Share!
:hyper:

Yep! Nobody wants to see the ride go down for refurb to deal with that!

When we were there last month we rode...er...operated the Davy Crocket canoes. There were only 4 of us so we chatted up our tour guide. We told him about how mean our last tour guide was to make us paddle so hard. He said the tour guides are no longer doing the sarcasm and psuedo-meanness. I was a little disappointed because the abuse was always funny.

Also on our last trip we learned about "Goat Check."

I know some of you already know this trick, but on Thunder Mountain, you lock eyes with the goat, and keep eye contact with it all the way through the corner. It makes that corner super crazy.

hahaha i did that too my unsuspecting friend and she got all dizzy:lmao:

This is not an official random bit about Disneyland, but a personal amusing story. During the day, my DD pointed out the ducks swimming about Rivers of America. Later that evening, we are watching F! and the dragon lights the river on fire. My DD turns to me and says, "Duck nuggets."
