Ditto! It was being built the last time we were at DL, just a big empty ugly lake :(

I don't think I'll get DH back to WDW after this trip but I'm hoping I'll be able to swing a day in DL on some future trip .

Karen the leg is holding up swelling has gone down a bit making it a little easier to walk but I have just decided not to go on the magic morning with the kids as my leg hasn't recovered enough from yesterday.

Last night I was shocked at how many rides at DL were 10 minute waits we walked on to Pirates at 8:00pm even splash mountain was a 10 minute wait wonder if it will change after the hype of cars settles down was great for us we got so much done.

10 minutes wait? what a heavenly universe of disney deliciousness that is. So jealous.

Sounds like a dream :cloud9: your trip sounds awesome other then the medical issues you've had to deal with. Hope your feeling better :flower3:

Why aren't you looking forward to it? Is it because you won't be able to do all the walking? Just get them to park you on a metal chair in Times square and you can people watch the day away. That sounds awesome.

I think it's because I am tired and over the pain, we are really disappointed with Doubletree this year we got a room without a view just of the concrete courtyard and the rail broke in the bath wich caused me to slip so now I am even more bruised I am ready to come home:sad1:
On a happy note we went and watched Mary Poppins today which we loved :)

Do you know what has caused the pain and swelling? It is so sad to hear you are injured/sick after looking forward to your trip for so long:(

bugger.......glad you enjoyed Mary..but i hope they reimbursed you re the bath incident...

fingers crossed everything goes well from now on... there's nothing worse than being in pain away from our "nest".......

I've strained/pulled my calf muscles but from my ankle to my knee and the swelling just refuses to stay down:sad1: I never knew an injury like this could cause so much pain, falling in the bath last night hasn't helped any!

they have given us breakfast in the morning.
I hope so cause I am over it and am so sad that it's impacted our trip so much I am more than ready for my bed if I am goi g to feel like this may as well be home:eek:

so sorry to hear things arent what you wished for......

but at least you can sit in bed and watch bad american news channels 24/7.....train wreak...so not a complete waste:thumbsup2

hope tomorrow is a better day:grouphug:

when i was sick in nyc, i watched law & order re-runs for most of the day and just sipped on flat lemonade & ate fresh fruit salad when i could stomach a little food in my system... oh, the memories. nyc is a bad city to be sick in, cause you know just how much excitement is going on outside

it really sucks that you have had an injury in the bathroom on top of your knee/ankle injuries. they should provide more than just breakfast.. i'm sure an american traveller would be demanding comped rooms & compensation or a threat of a lawsuit... i hope that they are prepared to discount your room stay as well at the very least...

sending good thoughts and lots of hugs your way in the hopes that you recover quickly and that you can enjoy the rest of your trip :(

Mary Poppins on Broadway, ahhhh the memories. We adored it too. Glad it was at least one bright spot in an otherwise less than stellar NYC experience. And I'm really sad that you want to come home, poor luv.

I agree with everyone, esp Alicia. They should be comping you more than a free breakfast for this incident. Very disappointing indeed.

I'm so sorry that you're still having such pain :grouphug: You're wise to plan to give your leg a good solid rest for a few days.

Is there any chance you could get them to move you to a room with a nicer outlook? I'd use the bath rail incident as a bit of leverage and give them the sad story that thanks to their faulty towel rail you'll be confined to the room for a lot of the next few days - you'd feel better resting up in the room if you had something interesting to see out the window.

Hoping very hard that your leg settled down ASAP and that you're fighting fit for the next leg of the trip. pixiedust:
