**Faith and Max's 12.22.12 Swan/Garden Grove/ADH Wedding!!** UPDATED 16!!

Hi all! :wave2: It has been WAAAYY too long since I've updated my PJ! Bad bride! :rotfl:

In early August, I had an amazing Alice in Wonderland themed bridal shower! I know many of you have seen the pictures on FB so I won't repost here. We had a blast and got a lot of really generous gifts!

1. Floral- FINALIZED
0

This is the bouquet we are using as a basis for everything. It will be my bouquet. The girls will have a smaller version with fewer white flowers and "hang-y down flowers". Dontcha like my professional flower terminology?

The boutineers (can't ever spell that word) will match as well the floral swag for the arch, any corsages for grandmas/mothers, and the aisle petals.

2. Bridesmaid Dresses- FINALIZED
They're Bill Levkoff style 160 in the color "glacier" which is essential aqua. Here is the dress in brown. All are ordered!
160.jpg

3. Favors- FINALIZED
Disney pins, lanyards in a box. Wah-lah.

4. Guest book- FINALIZED
9" white vinyl.

5. Invites- Done, need to be sent.

6. Boy's Attire- Need to do!
We decided to ask the boys to buy grey suits. They can re-wear them and it is honestly the same price as renting. I know I vented on the FB group about the cost of the rentals at MW! CRAY!

Max is in charge of wrangling them all up to get together to buy the suits. It needs to happen this month.

7. Officiant- FINALIZED
We switched to Rev. Jack Day and I couldn't be happier. He is SO sweet and his communication is great!

8. Rehearsal Dinner Dress- BOUGHT!
No clue what we're doing for the dinner but I bought my dress. It's gorgeous. It is from my FAVORITE designer- Tadashi Shoji- who my mom is wearing for the wedding.

9. Decide on Music- Need to do!
We're thinking just traditional music (our violinist can pick) for everything but the exit. For the exit we want "Married Life" from the UP soundtrack.

10. Toss- Need to decide!
Sprinkles? Petals? Skip it?

11. Programs- Need to make!

12. The secret Honeymoon is paid off! Can't wait to see where we're going!

13. Cardbox- FINALIZED, need to make!
We bought a mailbox from Home Depot and are going to do the "UP" handprints on it. :)

14. Max's Ears- Need to make!

15. Thank You Sign
We need to decide if we're skipping this or not. Thoughts?

13. Need to Buy List
-Sand
-Toss material, if we do!
-DIY supplies for programs
-Max's wedding band

The point of this update? So far so good! We've got a couple of things left to do but for the most part, we're almost done! And I'm so so so glad. Because I can't wait to just marry Max and sit on my butt during my honeymoon and RELAX!

I have seriously missed updating my PJ and hope to be more regular with it as we get closer and closer.

Thanks for reading along! :grouphug:

Great update and congrats on almost being done with school! :cheer2:

Love love love your rehearsal dinner dress and the bridesmaid dresses!
Cant believe how close your wedding is! :dance3:

Faith -
So I've read your PJ over the past few days and I've compiled all my comments.

Love the engagement photos!

Thanks so much for having your reception at Garden Grove!

I want to do a Disney run so bad. :( :( :(
But I'm too slow.
I've done 2 half marathons - but my time was over 4 hours both times.
I am improving, however.
If only I could stand RUNNING. YUCK!

Mistake on newsletter - Since your friends pointed it out, you know they read it! Let's just pretend it was like a hidden mickey.
Or something.

Eve's addiction - When you mentioned the hunger games, I was wondering if you know about this website. They have Katniss' mockingjay necklace and earrings.
They do Tiffany "inspired" and movie "inspired" jewlery!
I bought the tiffany cascading stars lariat from them over 5 years ago and it's still in great shape.
I came so close to buying the Lord of the Rings Arwen EvenStar pendant from them this week--- but I need to hold out and let my fiancé do it since he knows I want it.

When Geeks wed! Oh my goodness! Thank you for posting this!

Up handprints! Oh my goodness! Awesome!
Keep it and use it for your real mailbox!

Thank you sign - I love the idea.
I also loved the ears with the wedding date on them for the save the date.

I can't wait to see pics from the wedding - it's getting close!

Awesome updates! Love both dresses...especially your rehearsal dress...absolutely gorgeous!

I was shocked about the rental fee at Men's Warehouse too! If I would've thought about it beforehand, I would've done like you are and asked the guys to purchase suits...only tan instead of grey. That's a great idea.

I love the pictures with thank you signs. Randy Chapman recently posted a picture from a wedding he just did (I know it was a Dis bride...just not sure which one) and the picture with their thank you sign on the beach has made me now want one! lol

Looks like you have a lot done! Those dresses are gorgeous -- I adore your rehearsal dinner dress!

You're getting seriously close!! So exciting!

Hi Friends! I just got word from my fabulous planner that our floral package has been booked. Here's what we're getting! I hope this helps someone! :thumbsup2

Company: Greenery Productions (I think).

Inspiration bouquet from which all floral is based:
0

What I asked for (copy and pasted from the email to my planner)... excuse my, ahem, informal florist terminology.. :rotfl: :

Bride: bouquet above. I'd like for it to be full and as close to the picture as possible with maybe a bit more stephanotis. Wrapped with white ribbon.

4 bridesmaid bouquets: smaller version of my bouquet without the stephanotis or the flowers that hang down. Wrapped with aqua ribbon.

1 groom's boutineer: something to match my bouquet.

4 groomsmen boutineers: something to match my bouquet. Maybe a little less exciting/nice than the grooms?

Floral swag for arch: something to match my bouquet. More hanging down flowers, perhaps?

Aisle petals: no clue. Not crazy about the rose petals but if there is no alternative, light-ish purple rose petals.

4 wrist corsages for the mothers/grandmothers: purple. The 2 grandmother corsages should be a bit less than the 2 mother corsages.

2 father boutineers: should match the groomsmen

Quote: $1,200.20

Overall, I'm really happy with the price. Diana, our planner, also told me that she negotiated pretty hard with the florist to get that price. Just another reason why I love her!! :cheer2:

SO, the floral order has been placed! :woohoo:

Now, we have a few things left to buy, make, and the music left to decide on.. and then, we're done! I never thought I'd be done with wedding planning. :rotfl2:

Thanks for reading along!

I'm not a huge fan of rose petals myself...did they tell you there was no alternative...I'd think there has to be some kind of alternative.

Faith, it's been way too long since I've commented! Anyway, congrats on your upcoming graduation, and being so close to the wedding - I'm so excited for you!

* The bridesmaid dresses are beautiful - though that model has some hips, especially with that pose! I'm picturing Megara wearing that dress now, lol.
* Your rehearsal dinner dress is just stunning. I love it.
* Can't wait to find out where your secret honeymoon is!
* As for the thank you sign, it might be one of those things that you end up skipping just because you don't have the time to do it. There were a few things like that for me, and I really didn't miss them at all.

You crack me up! I love that you are getting so close!! AHHH
:thumbsup2 Me too!

You are getting so close to the big day! How exciting! Everything sounds great, keep up the good work!
Thanks love!

I didn't speak with the florist myself-- letting the planner handle that. I'm really not crazy about the rose petals but can't think of what an alternative would be? Any ideas?

At the end of it all, I'd like something else but when the day actually rolls around I'm sure I won't even notice.

BAHA! I love the idea of Megara wearing that dress. :rotfl:

Thanks so much-- I can't decide which dress I'm more excited to wear. And, thanks for the advice on the thank you sign. I think we're going to skip it. We do want to make programs, welcome folders, and Max's ear hat. Honestly, I think that will be enough DIYing for me. :p

the dresses r gorgeous faith!

also well done for gettin all that floral for such a great price! hope i get diana for my wedding planner she sounds amazin!

ps ur already doin more DIY things than me lol i only plan to make the programmes an mayb the invites myself thats it lol so :thumbsup2 for u :)

weddings gettin closer an closer :yay:

2 months 2 months 2 months!! :yay:

Today is our 2 month mark! Hooray!

On Friday I mailed our invites. One of my bridesmaids and I worked on putting stamps and labels on them- it went by pretty fast and was a pretty painless process.

So, they’re off! In the mail! And it’s weeeeirrrrddd... this wedding is actually soon?! Never thought we’d ever see the day when we were this close. For the girls who are still months away, trust me, time flies by. And yeah, I know everyone says that and you feel like your time will never come but uhh, it does!

We have already heard from a few people who have received the invite. I am not looking forward to the RSVP process and hope my guests are really nice about returning a pre-stamped, pre-addressed envelope. :littleangel:

In other news, Max and I have reserved our rehearsal extravaganzas! A few months ago we booked Rev. Jack and my planner for a rehearsal on Dec. 21st at 6pm at our ceremony site. We figured we’d just do some type of rehearsal dinner after.

Since Max and I are paying for the dinner we wanted to have it somewhere that we liked. We came up with the idea of having it at T-REX Cafe in DTD just because it’s so fun and so “us”. I called and was told that since it will be so close to Christmas by that point, T-REX doesn't do big group reservations for dinner. :(

We debated having a dinner elsewhere but really had our heart set on T-REX. So, we contacted the salesperson and wound up booking T-REX on that Friday for the only time we could-- 11am. It is REALLY early but we figure it will be fun and most of our family/bridal party will be in town by that point anyways so it works out.

Here is our menu:

CHOICE OF ENTREE:
Paleozoic Chicken Sandwich with Chips
Stegosaurus Steak and Cheese Sandwich with Chips
Pteradactyl Salad
Layers of the Earth Lasagna

DESSERT:
(Served Sharing Style. Based on 1 per 4 guest)
Meteor Bites

Fountain Soda, Coffee and Tea
$21.99 Per Person Plus 18% Service Charge and 6.5% Florida Sales Tax
** Each person will receive a drink ticket good for one STRAWBERRY LEMONADE for an additional $3.99++ per person **

We are super excited! Max got silly and made us some fun invites-- here they are (I removed the phone number at the bottom-- that's why it looks funky):

We also finished some DIYs over the weekend!

Max made his Groom Ear hat!:

And, we made our UP-inspired card box!:

We are also talking with our planner about using sparklers for our exit and bought a Living Social for VistaPrint which we will use for our programs.

Thanks to those of you who are still following along!

Great update! Cant believe how close your wedding is :)!!!!!
Love the UP inspired mailbox, so cute! I think T-Rex will be a great time! Cant wait to read more!!!

I love the mailbox!

I've never been to T-Rex, but from what I've seen it looks like a lot of fun! And the invite is so cute! :goodvibes

Seriously time does really fly! I love the rehearsal lunch that is so awesome I would love to be a guest at that and what a fab price! I also like the invites he did! The RSVP nightmare can be annoying but I kept a spreadsheet and that helped a ton. The card box looks great and so does his hat! Good job girl keep plugging away

Hi, Faith! I am FINALLY all caught up and you have done such a great job so far! Your rehearsal at T-Rex sounds like it will be a blast and I love the silly invites! Oh, and your cardbox is amazing! I love everything and can't believe how close you are! The time really does fly!

Holy crap! Seeing your "Up" inspired mailbox card holder brought a tear to my eye. I love love LOVE that.

I recently went to a wedding in NY and the bride did a lot of personal touches that represent them as a couple and it was so beautiful. I know that your's will be nothing less than that too...so hurry up cause I wanna see me some pictures! :woohoo:

Happy 2 month mark! (LESS than 2 months now!!)

2 months to go!! so so close now!

i'm def gonna do somethin at TREX cafe, i'v never been but the menu looks gr8, its casual enough for us 2 feel comfortable an above all else my nephew is obsessed wi dinosaurs so thts a bonus! think we'd need 2 pull him down off the ceiling if we told him we were gonna eat in a dino cafe :upsidedow
