I'm so torn! BCV or BWV?

Im so torn! I've been visiting WDW since 1978. My Grandparents brought me when kids flew free on TWA and stayed in hotels for free. The MK was the only Disney park and you had to buy tickets for each ride. After 3 years/visits, they purchased a timeshare close to the MK gates, so I have never stayed at a Disney resort. This will be a once in a lifetime stay at a Disney Resort, since we still have the timeshare, unless we win the lotto. My dream would be to stay at the Poly, but we are so used to separate sleeping quarters so I booked BCV, 1 bedroom in Sept for 8 days. The pool and location was a draw for me. We usually visit in May, visit MK & HS for one day, 1/2 day at DTD and boat rental and Epcot for 2 days, then stay at timeshare for pool 2 days. The kids are 9 & 12. They have no idea we are going! My son Loves halloween so I already got MNSS tix. Our fav is Epcot, even the kids and it doesn't hurt that my husband can sample the beers of the world. Second fav is H'S. We aren't big fans of AK, but plan to visit this trip and have lunch at AK resort. We usually eat a big breakfast at our timeshare, skip lunch, get a snack, then a big dinner. The BCV does not have the FD or discount available, so I'm torn if we should take the $1200 discount for a BWV, only bc this will be a one time deal. I'm going to call to see if there are other options after the kids go to school this am. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

If your kids like pools, then BCV is for you, if they are indifferent, then I would take the $1,200 discount and stay at BWV.

I wouldn't let the lack of counter service at BCV bother you, there's only a bakery over at BWV...either bring breakfast with you, along with snacks or buy in the stores at either BCV or BWV...the walk to Epcot Is great from BCV and we walk to EPCOT and catch the boat to the studios (if I don't feel like walking), and go thru EPCOT to catch the monorail to MK...

love our BCV and will be there on Thursday...three more sleeps

If its really once in a lifetime and you can afford it, then yes-BCV.

Location and room wise, BWV and BCV are very similar, so it really comes down to a trade-off between $1,200 or the SAB pool. Are you going to get more value out of spending/saving the $1200 or out having access to SAB?

For me, I'd stay a BWV and keep the $1,200.

I have to agree. If you are on the edge about spending the money, then don't. No one will have less of a time.

BCV all the way for a once of a lifetime trip! :thumbsup2 -As long as you will be using the pool a lot. If you're going to hit the parks all day long then the pool wont be as important......

Both resorts are beautiful and the location is awesome. You cant make a wrong decision. If the $1200 could be used for additional family fun/trips in the future then staying at BWV might be the best choice.

SAB is a REALLY great pool but for $1200?? I'd say stay at BWV and maybe do one night at BCV just to experience the pool. You should still save a bunch and will be able to swim as long as you'd like. :thumbsup2

Also, don't forget that the 1-bedrooms have a full kitchen so you can still do your breakfast in the room thing. We do that all the time and even buy ice cream sundae stuff to keep from having to buy ("having to"...like dessert is a requirement for vacation! HA!) dessert with meals. :-)

We just came back from BCV, it was our first stay there. Awesome resort and pool. As you already know location is great for getting to Epcot and HS. I would save the money and stay at BWV. Same great location. If you don't mind not being able to use SAB then there you have it! Have a great time:)

I would go to BWV and use some of the saving to go to BB or TL for a day or two.

I would choose the BWV for that amount of money! SAB is great, but you should also consider that it is hard to keep track of your kids there. There are lifeguards of course, but if you want to still actually SEE your kids, you'll have to be in the water with them. It's very easy to wander away there, and its a far walk from the end of the slide to go back on ( and you can't see it). BWV pool is very open, visible, and much more relaxing for Mama.
You could always take some of the money you'd be saving and spend a day at a water park....

I would definitely stay at BWV. We have stayed at BCVs which are lovely, but I don't like the lack of views from the rooms. I would pick BWV even without the discount. We just like the atmosphere there better. You can't go wrong either way.

This is a HUGE factor. If your kids are mature and swim like fish, BCV is for you! If not(like my kids), go to BWV so that you can relax while they are swimming. I cannot do that at BCV....yet. :)

Imteresting. We faced this exact scenario at Spring Break. We had a BC reservation where we had stayed several times but when we checked, the BWV were available for $1000 less. We really hesitated to switch, but we never tried BWV and thought it was worth it to try for $1000 less.

Well, a complete surprise to us, we loved it. The atmosphere was great, the location was just as good, and the rooms were fresher. We liked BWV so much it became our preferred resort as we are now on the waiting list to buy poimts there and become part of DVC.

So, I certainly would not hesitate to go to BWV. It was great. However, we also really like BCV so you are not going to make a bad choice here.

call me frugal....I don't think that the pool at BCV is worth the extra $1200, and what the kids don't know, won't hurt them. My boys are the same age, and although they liked the BCV pool this year, they are just as happy at the OKW pools.

I say, save the money and do a second trip next year at a value resort with dining!!! :thumbsup2

I think the beach club is a perfect choice! I stayed there the last two years in September. The pool was great - not at all crowded at that time of year. Since you enjoy Epcot and DHS, the location is amazing...

Have a great vacation!

I tend to agree with most that SAB is a super awesome pool, but not worth $1200. If that's the deciding factor, I'd do BWV. It's a little longer of a walk to Epcot, but still convenient, or you could always take the boat. Their pool is carnival themed so still fun.

I'd choose BWV. I often do over BCV (my home resort) just because it's a lot less points.

You got me at $1200 savings. There's so much to spend that money on at WDW. I've stayed at both places, and although I prefer BCV for the same money, the kids will like any pool. And there's Boardwalk Bakery and Seashore Sweets nearby. You can buy lots of good stuff there for $1200!
