A Princess, Pirates and Pixie Dust!

Are you sad that this trip ended not once, but twice? I found it sad when our first TR came to end. It was like being on vacation all over again. Reliving the memories and being back at Disney.

I really enjoyed your trip. Love all the photos. I hope one day, you get to take a family vacation like that again. Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

Bummer about the rain , I was there in the wettest May in 50 years , but boy were the Parks empty and although wet I got to ride soooo many rides !! I love Dinasaur too !! Great ending for the TR!!!

Crazy rain! I think if we didn't have the strollers to float down Main Street, we would have just put on the ponchos and powered through - the rain is definitely a help for short lines. Thanks for reading, Rodie!

I am sad! At first I was relieved, but today when I'm looking at all the TRs it makes me sad that mine is done. Reliving is the reason to write these for most of us, I think! Thanks for the good thoughts, and thanks so much for reading!

Hi everyone! Just a quick update on Maverick. They had his hearing on Feb 11th and the mom is nowhere to be found. Her attorney made some noise about the Grandma getting custody after the mom's rights are terminated, but it turns out she hasn't filed anything. It seems the aunt may be a viable home for him - she is a single mom and it looks on FB like she is making a good home for her 3 other kids. She is planning to come and visit Mav in a couple of weeks. This means that blood trumps all and if she wants him, the State will probably give him to her. At least she looks like a good person and we won't worry about him too much.

I will be back with more when there is more to tell - next hearing is April 8th. Thanks for your good thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

Tammie, forgive me for falling behind.

Love that you and Jim got to get a ride on Dinosaur.

Your "sad" photopass pictures got me teary-eyed.

I'm glad you got a last breakfast together and an uneventful flight home.

I am keeping my fingers crossed on the babies and look forward to your updates.

Thanks for sharing your TR with us. :goodvibes

And, yes, DIS friends are the Best! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for being here, Kathy! It is always great to see you here! No worries with being behind - you know how it is with me! :rotfl2:

They are, and you are one of the best!:flower3:

Thanks for the update on Mav, Tammie.
I hope whatever is best for Mav will come to pass.

Happy for now that Mav will continue to be with you. Hope for the best outcome for Mav. If he does end up with the aunt I hope things do go well for him.

This is good news. I will be thinking about you and your family during this time. It must be so hard to have everything hanging in the balance. At least you know he will be loved and in a safe environment. Please keep us posted. Such a sweet little boy!

Thank you I know there is a plan for him. Just hard not to be in control.

Thanks, Sandy. It is heartbreaking if he will leave, because every day makes him more attached to us, and us more attached to him. That is what happens with foster care though. I know he will be okay, either way.

Thank you, Mary Ellen. It is hard, but we do know he will be okay.

Thanks for the update on Mav. I wish for the very best for for the little guy whatever that may be.

Thanks for the update. Here's a little pixie dust for the little guy.pixiedust:

Hopefully everything works out for the best. Should he no longer be able to remain with your family, at least you showed him there are still caring people in this world and you got to share some WDW magic with him.

 I could only imagine getting attached to a little one and them getting attached to you and then them getting taken away. Know your family and Mav are in my thoughts and prayers for the best outcome for him.

Thanks, Thumper Man! We have thought at least we gave him a view of something he might connect with later. Big news to follow!!!

Thanks Sandy. WE HAVE BIG NEWS! :yay:

The kids heard from Mav's attorney today - and we have what looks like exciting news! The mom, who is 19 and an addict, has come forward and said that she doesn't want Mav raised by her family, because of her life and how she turned out. She wants Mark and Lindz to adopt him, and she has told his attorney and hers that, so they will both be fighting for him to stay in our family!!! She wants to be "clean" for a week and see him one last time at a neighborhood park.
Lindsay is thinking she will let her see him from time to time as an aunt, so she can know he is okay. She is the one who gave us permission to take him to WDW if she could just have some pictures from the trip. We are so excited!:yay: At the same time, we are incredibly sad for this young lady who is giving up her baby because she can't stay off drugs long enough to have him. She obviously loves him very much because she is doing what is best for him no matter how it hurts. :sad1:

OMG - that is wonderful news, yet so sad. It really brings tears to my eyes. It sounds like Mav's mom has a mature perspective on things. I wish her much success as she battles drug addiction. As for you guys - you must be over the moon! There isn't even a smilie for that!

this is sad but good news. Glad to know the mother cares for her son so much that she wants him to be raised with a good family

What a fantastic best case scenario! And kudos to your son and DIL for thinking of ways to let Mav' bio mom in his life as she deal with her addiction.

Good luck!

I agree. A sad situation, but hopefully it sounds like there might be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Sure hope it works out for everyone!

A sad situation for the natural mother of the child, but a mature decision on her part. I hope she can get the help she needs.

I'm very happy for your family. This is great news. :)
