Disney Wonder --October 4, 2015

I'll add my 2 cents and would love it if we could keep the FE exchange to groups of 20 otherwise it get's to be too many people. People can always choose to participate in more than 1 group if they'd like to. Here is a link to FE info for those who haven't heard of it before http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-cruise-line/meets.htm
We will for sure to the FE exchange. I love to do crafty stuff and I have plenty of time to get some stuff done (if I don't procrastinate). LOL! Plus, we are driving so no worries about packing and weight limits for flying. :thumbsup2
Excited to chat with everyone over the next couple of months.

If this actually happens I might do it. I was on a cruise with 70 cabins once. No way. I haven't done one since because the groups are too big. I tried to do what you suggested and people said they wanted to give stuff to everyone. Good luck. If they stay small I may join later. After spending 2 precious cruise ship hrs delivering stuff my first time I've been turned off.

Well whoever it leading the FE group/groups could cap it at 20 and then start another one after that? I agree on no more than 20 families. Even that is a lot.
On our first cruise we fully participated and on our second, I found a family on the Disbaords that hadn't signed up for a FE due to space constraints and we just exchanged with each other. We did kids only and gave a little gift each day. I actually really liked that and may try to get one going like that again with just one or two families.

I'd be in!

I tried to offer that before and no takers. It's a great idea!

I'm with everyone else; I can't believe how quickly this is selling. Is it usual first day madness? Or is it proof of how well west coast cruises can do. Only time will tell I guess. We are in an 11C on this cruise, and those are completely gone for Oct. 4, but for the following week it's already $200 more than what we paid.

Thank goodness for all my DIS training I know to jump on it the first day!! :)

All you seasoned cruisers are getting me so excited! I seriously cannot wait!!

Let me first start with HAPPY 498 DAYS LEFT!! :rotfl2:
We booked when there were 500 days left. Hubby was supposed to sit down with me and chat about what sailing we were going to choose for 2015 and he passed out (on day 501) so the morning of Day 500 I said I made a choice, gave him a quick rundown and emailed the TA. :thumbsup2

Who are we? Me- Jessica- the Disney obsessed wife, Robb-the married into Disney hubby and our two boys Anthony 9 (will be 10) and Jason 3--but 4 on Monday (will be 5). Hubs and I have AP's to Disneyland, but not the little guys LOL It's our "couple time" ;)

Hubs and I did our Honeymoon cruise on the Wonder Sept 2011, we took a family cruise on the Wonder Oct 2012. I booked a dummy booking on the sept '11 cruise and THIS cruise is that booking that I've kept pushing till the right time...which is NOW!!!

I ALMOST-but really how could I- forgot about disboards until this evening (work makes me forget the important stuff). So I said let me see if a board is even STARTED YET. I am so excited to see all the activity!! My last cruise was quite the slow board. No offense to them, they just were not very active not even the few months prior to.

I caught up and read everyones posts :goodvibes

We booked yesterday...WAHOO!! Our 2nd cruise, the last was on the Wonder in 2011.

It will be myself, DH, DD (8) & DS (5). My mom and her DH will be joining us along with a few friends, we are all SO EXCITED!

All of us will be coming from Sacramento!

:wave2:We are coming from Sacramento too!! Don't think I am crazy but I saw that you had a trip report and we sailed together!! We didn't take our kids on that one, but our kids are similar in age too and will be going this time around :goodvibes

Thank you thank you!

I've got a good feeling about this group. I've heard some lame stories about friends having party pooper groups....not everyone can handle it. Is anyone else ready righ now for some piña colada craziness and disney movies by the pool?!? Till then I'll have to contain my excitement with frequent trips t Disneyland. are there any other DVC members put there yet? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller??

My first cruise the group was active, my second was more pooper like LOL We don't get pina colada crazy, well we do like the Miami Vice's but not enough to make us crazy LOL :p We are going to Disneyland on Monday!!

Can some one please explain the fish thing to me as a newbie I have no idea what it is lol!

I haven't done a cruise that large! My last group was only 18 for the whole sailing and half of them never talked in our disboard group but signed up and I think most did pass out FE's which I thought was odd.

Well I am excited to be here!! p.s. I requested on the FB page :)

I would like to participate in the FE as well but like the idea of smaller groups. Like a few others have posted above, 20 in a group seems like a good number. If there is any that are at about 20 I would love to be a part. This cruise will be husband, myself, and 24 year old son. All adults in our group but we have loved Disney for many years. Looking forward to a new experience...Mexico here we come!

Yeah, we think 20 is best for a 5 day cruise too, looks like what we will start with. Already on the 2nd group!!! Awesome cruise group already!

We just got off the Wonder yesterday and booked the 10/4 while onboard. I'm a little perturbed to find that the Onboard Booking Consultant booked us a 9C GTY and I can't change that (unless I pay more, right?). We also requested main dining but got second seating. Oh well, its still a DISNEY CRUISE!!! :cheer2:

We're another small group of Sacramentans. Myself (Jessica), my DH (Charles) and my DD (Jocelyn) who will be 2 weeks shy of her 6th bday at cruisetime. :wave2:

I'm on the fence about joining the FE this time. On this last cruise we capped our groups at 15, and even that required more effort on my part than I originally thought it would. 20 feels high to me. OTOH, my DD will be crushed if we don't participate.

Off to request the FB page... :flower3:

Why can't you change?

We are a family of 5, but only four of us sailing. At the time of cruise, the girls will be 10 and 6 years old. We are coming from Seattle.

I am really looking forward to the cruise, but it is so far away. We nearly booked the Hawaii cruise in September, but 5 days straight of sailing seemed very daunting for our first cruise.

Rainy

Our first time to participate in the FE program will be in September on the Wonder double dip. I asked to be in a small group of no more than 10. With flying and limited space we wanted to not get too overwhelmed with a big FE group. The person organizing our groups was wonderful about putting together a small group of 10. It is not full yet but some in this group are participating in other groups too. For me, I am really happy with the smaller amount. It might be that the person organizing these groups would be willing to put a smaller group together as well. I would love to participate in it if that happens. I certainly don't want it to become more difficult for anyone so will be happy with whatever works and appreciate those who are willing to take on the work of putting these groups together.

I am so excited that Disney is coming back to the west coast for 5 day cruises. I can't believe we lucked out on the timing of the fall 2015 cruises. My 2 kiddos (daughter will be 10 & son will be 13) will be on fall break! How crazy is it that this cruise sold out so fast! Im so glad I didn't even take the time to think twice about booking! Now to wait 16 months.pixiedust:pixiedust:

If it wasnt for another post i saw about the new cruise date being released right before they were i would have missed out. Oct is good time for us 2 as Australia has 2 weeks school holidays then too and so cruise is in the 2nd week. Coming fro Aus kids will miss some school and kindy anyway depending on how long we stay, but only around 5-7 days which is better then the whole 3 weeks:)
