Anyone successfully book the PPV on Hotwire and have any strategic search tips to share? The only other hotel in that category in the neighborhood is Fairmont across the street so I would be ok either way, but I would love to get up early Sunday morning to watch the Wonder sail in!

Thanks in Advance!

I did a search on Expedia and see Panny availability for CDN$425. If I was you, I would look into the cancellation policy and book right now to secure the space. As the CDN is now depressed, you have a great discount right now.

If the price goes up, you are locked in. If you find a better deal later, you can cancel the reservation and go for the lower price.

For our trip last summer, I booked via Hotwire for $190 (US) plus tax for a total of $235.60 per night, booking in mid-April. I'm pretty sure I saw it $5/night cheaper a day or two before I booked, so I think they change prices around.

On the Vancouver FAQ thread, post #2425 on page 162 (my own followup post on this was #2449 on page 164) describes what to look for on Hotwire. It seems the distinction with the Fairmont is whether it is "indoor pool" vs. "Pool(s)" (Fairmont is indoor).

Note that Hotwire gives you a city view, and you would have to pay to upgrade to a harbor view. We actually could see part of the harbor/bridge from our city view room, but we wouldn't have been able to see the Wonder come in. I did talk to someone who stayed at the Renaissance Harbourview Hotel who watched our ship come in, though...

You raised a good point... what happens if the Wonder docs on the City side in 2015/2016 and your room is facing the harbour? Abandon hotel room 7am with your cowbells?

This is great info. Thank you! I don't mind paying for an upgrade if we get a screaming deal on the room. But with a party as large as ours, we most definitely need to plan in advance

We are on the same sailing - 8/31/15. We were able to book the Pan for 8/30/15 for $195 + tax thru Last Minute Travel. This was thanks to a Dis'er posting a thread in this forum with very specific instructions on how to book (without joining their club & making sure it was the Pan Pacific & not just a "mystery" hotel). Search for the thread and maybe the Pan will still be available.

Bumping this up- has anyone had any more recent success booking on LMT or hotwire for the Pan Pacific? I haven’t seen it on LMT since about mid-November unfortunately and I regret I didn’t book then. I’ve read historical hotwire tips to hopefully get the Pan on here, but haven’t seen any recently; I’m looking to book for this July, so I would love to hear from anyone who has booked in the last few weeks for this summer—what rate you got, and what tips you used to “ID” the Pan Pacific on hotwire or priceline to get it?

We are booked thru LMT for August trip also. We were able to book on their site for the PP at $216 per night.

I was able to book Pan Pacific for two nights for our September Hawaii Cruise through LMT. I ended up paying $201.33 (tax included) per night using a $30 discount code I found. This code works up until the end of January and is only good for reservations over $400. The code is JAN31.

Also, I just checked the LMT site and it looks like they have an even better code for $35 off a reservation over $400. This code is WTR35. This doesn't make me feel too good because I could've saved a few more bucks, but I figured I would share in case this helps someone else out. :)

The trick is to purchase this by going to the LMT site through either your tablet or phone. You'll see that when you search for hotels in Vancouver using your tablet or phone that the hotels are no longer listed as mystery hotels, but by their actual names. This worked for me using my Google tablet.

I'm just so glad to be booked here at a pretty decent price. I have been stalking this hotel for a while now on the LMT site because I really want to stay here. I like the fact that we'll have easy access to the cruise terminal the morning of.

I hope this helps!

Thank you for sharing. The odd thing is that I saw Pan Pacific on LMT for several months this past fall but didn't book as I was waiting to finalize our plans and making sure the cruise was a definite. By mid November when I was committed and ready to book our hotel, Pan Pacific is no longer showing up on their site for our dates. I check almost every day but it doesn't come up. I am using my phone because as you said the computer doesn't show the hotel names. Can someone else try looking for me for 3 nights 7/10-7/13 on LMT and see if the Pan comes up? It is making me feel crazy that I saw it there for the longest time and now it isn't listed. They do have a great rate for the fairmont waterfront but I really want the Pan.

You're right. I just checked the LMT myself for your dates and Pan Pacific is definitely not listed. :confused3

Not sure why? I do remember reading in the Vancouver thread that someone else was having a hard time booking the Pan for July as well. One of the other posters said that July was peak time in Vancouver which could explain why Pan is not an option on the LMT site anymore.

I know even for my September dates, they held my reservation for 2 days until they confirmed it. They said something about their allocated rooms already being sold out so they had to check with the Pan to see if they could book a room for me.

I was wondering if it was still on Hotwire so I just did a quick search for your dates and it looks like it might be. There's one available for $233 a night and the other for $281 a night. I wonder if you could pick out the Pan by using the Vancouver Thread's posts about what to look for on Hotwire to tell if you're booking the Pan?

I totally understand your hesitation though. I know I was uncomfortable about this too which is why I was so happy to find that my tablet would identify the hotel on the LMT site.

Good luck! I hope you're able to score the Pan! Here's hoping for some pixie dust :tinker:

Hey, everyone!

I hesitate to even post this, because I know far too well how quickly these rates can change.

HOWEVER, it's worth a shot!

I just booked two double queen harborview rooms for $241/nt USD each, taxes included. I found the rate on Trivago and then called the hotel directly to ask if they would match. I told him I saw it on Trivago. He placed me on hold, came back a moment later and honored that price. We are on the 8/31 sailing and heading up one day early.

NOTE: You cannot call the Pan Pacific main ressie line. They will have you call the Vancouver location directly. For your reference, that number is: 604-662-8111.

Good luck everyone!

Thanks for sharing! I tried on hotwire , thought I had the Pan, and ended up with the Hyatt Regency. So bummed at first but we will live!

I booked October 2014 for Hawaii September 2015 thru hotwire for 218.00 plus tax for 3 adults. Listing stated that the previous 3 bookings for this secret hotel was for the Pan Pacific so it was easy for me to decide to pull the trigger on the booking. I was also charged a higher rate for the 3rd person in the room but it was include in the 218 price( 2 adults would have been cheaper ).
