Are there any restaurants in WDW that you won't eat at?

My (extended) family has always had a good time at Tony's. The food's not the best Italian food I've ever had or the best meal I've had at WDW...but it's not the worst in my own experience. I also prefer Tony's to other sit down restaurants in the Magic Kingdom for quality of food compared to price.

In fact, the one place at Disney I have no interest in returning to is another Italian restaurant, Tutto Italia in Epcot. I found that it had just ok (to bad) food...and at vastly greater prices than Tony's.

Other than that, there aren't any places I'd never go back to at Disney. Though there are a few "if I don't go there again, it's not a big deal" places.

I was underwhelmed at the lunch buffet at Tusker House in AK. I went last year with the extended family group that takes annual trips to WDW...and we went to Tusker House at my suggestion, because of the reviews I've read on disboards...we had fun with the characters, and everyone liked the food well enough, but it's not a place any of us are clamoring to go back to. It just didn't 'do it' for us.

Likewise, Coral Reef's food was disappointing. The atmosphere was good (not great), but the meal was overpriced for the quality, IMO. Nothing stood out, and for the price, I expected more.

And after two trips to Chefs de France, I can honestly say that it's another 'not a big deal if we don't go there' place for me. Food was decent, but nothing stood out. There are so many other places in Epcot that I love that if I never get back to Chefs, it's not a big deal.

However...I've learned not to take too much stock in reviews, because everyone is different. For every restaurant I don't really like that much, there are plenty of people who LOVE them. And for every place I love, there are plenty of people who would not return again ever. I still look at reviews and take them to heart when trying new places (see my going to Tusker House last year), but I also don't let reviews deter me if I'm interested in a restaurant and want to try it at least once.

As a vegetarian, I won't eat at meat centered buffets (Germany, Canada) because I wouldn't get my money's worth from side dishes and I'm not one to special order.

While I absolutely love Boma, I probably won't be back. :(

We have been at least 4 times for dinner and I think this trip last weekend will be our last. I cannot justify spending $40 for dinner for DS11 (not DS14 either, but he can eat about as much as an adult). Nor $20 for 4 year old niece! :0
But the worst of it was when DH wanted to go back up for more meat, the line was sooo long and never got better, in fact it got worse as he was watching, waiting for it to die down. :(

I don't eat meat so it didn't affect me. But I don't think we can spend $40pp for me to eat yummy, soup, salad and hummus and DH to get one round of meat. And like at pp said about ohana, having to wait so long past Adrs to be seated is irritating.

Will not eat at BOG again. Have eaten there 3 times, I wanted to love the place but I can't. Each time the food was not bad but unforgettable. However, the worst of it all is the service. My server last November was so pretentious. It is a theme park restaurant, not Le Bec Fin there is need for his attitude. He rubbed me the wrong way the whole dinner. I almost made reservations for my upcoming trip but DH reminded me how much I hate the place.

For me, it's T-Rex. I mean, we've never eaten there - it just seems so noisy that we've not even entertained it. Our perception could be completely wrong - but I'm thinking not.

ITA. Can't understand the appeal of T-Rex, Rainforest, and Planet Hollywood. They're mall restaurants!

I love the Le bec fin reference...

Now I'm hungry.

They are exactly mall restaurants...just on a bigger scale.

I for the life of me can't figure out who goes in planet Hollywood?

The stench of failure is not enough to drive people away from there?

To each his own I guess...

The character buffets in many instances are even more shameful than mall restaurants. The food is an afterthought and they charge 2x what it's worth.

While I've lived in cities that have these restaurants, for the last 8 years, even if I actually wanted to go to a Rainforest Cafe, I'd have to drive 3 hours one way just to get to a very pathetic, little one. Not everyone has easy access to these mall restaurants, and they are very cool to kids who have never been before.

We absolutely loved T-rex!! Nine Dragons is our never again and we tried more than once :( Food was mediocre for the high price tag.

They are not in any mall near my home.:( Which is why going to the Rainforest Cafe has become a tradition for me and my nephew when we go to the Animal Kingdom.

I also had fun last year when we went to Planet Hollywood. I'm excited to see how it is after the remodel.

I'm vegetarian too. I have never eaten at Biergarten, but I have eaten at Le Cellier twice (Is that the Canadian restaurant you meant? It's not a buffet.) The first time, I had a really good vegetarian ravioli dish. The next time, I stuck with a salad, and I should have tried the vegetarian dish. Live and learn. Regardless, don't count out Le Cellier for that reason.

Citricos. Although the food was decent, my whole family left hungry. I can understand my husband and teen boys, as they are big eaters, but me and my, at the time 7 year old left hungry too. Hungry enough that we hopped the monorail and the boys got a burger at Contempo right after eating at Citricos. It was Thanksgiving and we got a piece of turkey the size of a 1/2 dollar, a squirt of potato and a dallop of squash. I think 1 green bean, cut into 3 pieces.

I wont go back any time soon. We prefer GFC.

Tony's, By far........:crazy2: Sorry but it's true....Everything else that is sub par ( which is very few ) we can tolerate...:confused3 And there are a lot that are excellent.:thumbsup2

Oh, that's the standard Thanksgiving plate. I saw the same thing at Hollywood Brown Derby last year. I was glad we ordered off the regular menu. You know, it's kind of sad, because I looked forward to a "special Thanksgiving menu". The problem was, it wasn't very "special".

I have no interest in any of those places either, but there are plenty of people who are interested in them. I'm sure there are places that you like and places that I like where someone may say they don't understand the appeal of them. :goodvibes

We won't be going back to Whispering Canyon. Just too much food for us that we didn't really like. Our service was good there though. We also won't go back to BOG for dinner. We have done it and don't feel the need to return. It was okay not great. Now TRex is a must do for our boys. They love it there and we enjoy the food. We do split meals there because the portions are so large.

Cosmic Ray's - mediocre food in a disgustingly dirty and loud venue.
Pecos Bill - mediocre food in another loud restaurant with difficult-to-find seating.
Crystal Palace (breakfast) - mediocre food, overpriced, and poor character interaction.

Most everyplace else we've been at Disney I would at least return to. Wouldn't go to those places for free.

I'm on the Hollywood & Vine boat. Went here on our first trip and it was mediocre; food was bland, buffet was poorly stocked, and service was terrible. No interest in ever returning.

I would never eat at Teppan Edo again. There are much better Hibachi restaurants near where I live for a much lower cost. I would also never go to BOG breakfast again. The service was terrible. The staff gave a lot of attitude about answering questions. The food was mediocre.
