Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Just back.... Let me know if you have any questions. We were at BCV in a 2bdroom Villa. Construction going on in the BC still. They were doing a first floor wing on the back way to Epcot, so we passed it everyday. Front desk said BCV renovation may not start until October?? Our room was fine (if you think shabby chic), super clean and Mousekeeping was amazing. Loved the location and much less walking to our room (having stayed at BWV,AKLV, WL)

36 more days until WDW and 41 more days until we check into the BC!

About laundry.......we always do laundry on our rest day on our own. In the past we've stayed at CBR and the laundry facilities are right next to the pool. Easy enough. I plan on doing laundry at Poly on our rest day which is the day before we check into the BC. Then maybe doing laundry at the BC the day before we leave or just going home with dirty laundry.

Teena- I live in South Jersey, about 5 minutes from Philadelphia. I arrive 8/31 to the BC if you would like any tasty cakes. :) You have been so helpful with information and I would love to pay it forward.

I never ever say no to Tastycakes and Tastypies!!!!! I love anything chocolate and my pie choice is chocolate or cherry. Once in a while we can get some of them here now that we have WAWA but the selection is very limited. But if you have room for a real Jersey tomato, I would kill for one!!!!! Florida has no idea what a real tomato tastes like!!!!!

For our BC "resort day" we've decided to do Blizzard Beach since we have a free WP day on our tickets through our TA. We will then have dinner at Yachtsman. Hoping to catch some entertainment on the boardwalk after.

For our Poly resort day we are sleeping in and hanging by the pool all day. We will then have dinner at Cali Grill, just as a date night. The kids will hang in the room or do movies on the beach. DS15 can babysit DD9.

My boyfriend would love Cape May but he's the only one that eats seafood so it would be a waste of money for us. :(

I don't eat seafood but we do eat at Cape May. I can always fill up on the other stuff they have there and the beef they have is usually very very good.

My favorite are lemon pies. My kids devour butterscotch krimpets. But I don't buy them often! Craziness!

I think I can get those in my luggage. :) Jersey tomatoes are the best!

I think we would be okay there but I've always wanted to try Yachtsman. I love a good steak!!! And I want to try the truffle mac and cheese.

we are planning a super lazy day on our rest day (smack dab in the middle of our trip) We will sleep in late, hang out by the pool, and just rest. We are having dinner that night at Captains Grille.

25 days till our trip! Woo hoo!!

LIVE REPORT!!

We are on the bus to DTD. When the bus reached BC there were only four empty seats. Before getting to Typhoon Lagoon we also stopped at Boardwalk to drop off and pick up people.

I forgot to tell you about our evening last night. After doing the laundry the rest of our night was at SAB. Dinner from HH was delicious as always and we used our snack credits for ice cream from the take-out window of B&C. My hot fudge sundae was super duper yummy. The slivered almonds on it was a nice touch!

I must have still been wiped from the previous day because I fell asleep before 10pm. I didn't hear my son come in after closing down SAB!

The bus just pulled up to TL (15 minute ride) and a few people got off. Lots are going to DTD. I can't wait to check out all of the improvements that were made since last summer!

Oh boy ... Yachtsman steak is wonderful.

Best burger in my opinion with truffle fries: Crews Cup!!

I have to agree with both of these statements. Yesterday we decided to go over to WDW for the day (gotta love being only an hour away and having APs) and had lunch at Crews Cup after a few hours at HS - burger and fries for me and a lobster roll for DW. Both were absolutely delicious as always!!!

P.S. Teena I completely forgot that it was a Monday and you might be in the BC lobby, or we would have stopped by. Next time we're there on a Monday, we'll be sure to stop by.

Hmmmm....maybe we will cancel our B&C ADR after our DHS morning and try Crews Cup. Are they open around 12?

I believe they open around noon or 1:00. We think they have better burgers than B&C. Actually, I think their burgers are some of the best I've ever had anywhere. They definitely accept TIW - I used mine yesterday.

All ears shows that it does accept TIW.

Dumb question but I assume there are no ADR's here?
Correct - no ADRs.
The place has very limited seating, so highly suggest slightly off-peak dining hours for better availability.
There are a few tables for two, a couple of larger informal seating areas, and a handful of booths along a wall.

I'm looking forward to checking out DTD too! When we went in January there were still lots of walls up. I particularly want to check out the Italian ice cream place!

:welcome: to this thread and posting on the DIS!

I'll pencil you in on the Be Our Guest list- no worries if you decide to change.

Lots of opinions about booking and waiting for a discount. My advice is to get something booked and hope you are able to switch to a discount. I have been booking room only lately, skipping the dining plan and getting the tickets through Undercover Tourist.

:goodvibes:

After reading up a little more I think I'll be getting a package soon and then hoping for the discount when they open up. If I have to upgrade to save some money that shouldn't be a big deal.

I'd go room only, but the dining plan is one of the things we're looking forward to. We're looking forward to not having to worry about food and just eating our way through Disney on our honeymoon.

So very excited!!! We were originally going to stay at Wilderness Lodge for our trip...but due to the construction going on over there, we have decided to switch our ressie to BEACH CLUB!! Though I love WL...I am over the moon about staying at BC. The more I research and read/view the more my smile widens.

Look forward to enjoying your thread and becoming part of the BC Family!! Pencil us in for October 25-29th. DH, ME and DD cannot wait for our stay!! :yay::yay::yay:
