Guess I missed adding my name to the list. DH, DS and myself will be at Coronado Springs 9/2-9/11. Very excited about this trip, but nervous. I'm having arthroscopic surgery on my knee later this month and I'm worried about the walking. No matter, we will be there and happy!

Welcome and congratulations. Get that knee fixed so that you have some time over the summer for it to heal up and be ready for Disney. My Mom had a knee replacement in January and walking at Disney has been her goat through the whole process. Even if you aren't up to full speed (and distance) it will still be a great place to be.

Sure, welcome to the group. You can still hang out and check out Disney resorts as you wish, and offsite you'll have better options for families of five that aren't quite as crazy price-wise.

Yes we are getting a very much needed break. Our kids are adults however our son is disabled and lives with us. This trip was initially intended to celebrate our son's life. He has been chronically ill and in a hospital bed for the last 18 months and just had a major organ removal and transplant Feb. of this year. So needless to say it has been a long time since we have had a break. Well since his recovery is going well our son said he really didn't want to go this year but he would like a break away from me (the old mother hen). I figured DH and I could really use the alone time to just reconnect and why not go ahead as planned without the whole family. We are so excited and nervous about leaving him in the care of others at the same time. We are not able to go on our actual anniversary day because that would be just too soon since our sons surgery. I guess a few months later to celebrate will be just fine with us after all we will be at Disney who can complain!

That sounds like a nice anniversary plan. Hopefully things work out with your son and the vacation is nice for everyone. Taking a 30th anniversary trip should be a great way for the two of you to spend time together, even if it is delayed a few months from the date. When you're talking 30 years, what's a few months. The Poly theme should work out well for that too, and you'll have that great location for either monorail when you do head to a park. Hopefully you all (your son included) will have a nice time and it will work out well.

Great. We stayed in an AB room and loved it. The buildings have beautiful green space between them and the whole area is very pretty. The mansions are nice too, just a little more dense since they are taller buildings. The room floor plans are identical so it doesn't matter a whole lot. There is lots of great info on www.portorleans.org, everything you might want to know about the resort.You should have a great time.

Hi! We will be at WL 9/25-10/1! It's my husband and kids second trip down there and we are celebrating our daughters 5th birthday. We did a super short visit in Feb so they would know what to expect. It was the best idea ever! They talk about going back every single day. They are so much more excited now!
