Big Apple, Boardwalk, and Beach - Bullies and Wrap-up (The End!) (pg 44)

You know me so well :thumbsup2 I mean, that's some really good advice.........I think out of respect I will take it. :rolleyes1

True Dat! ::yes::

;)

Oh my goodness! Just peeked in om Instagram. I can't believe Lauren graduated this yesr! Seems like two years ago you were feeling the "my oldest is leaving for college" angst. Now on to more big adventures for her. It is funny how the DIS leaves people kind if frozen in time, especially kids. :rotfl2:

Yes, this is quite the summer! A couple of BIG milestones occurring. Update coming soon.

Now everyone knows where I'm getting my inside information.

Hi Glenn!

Hi Mary Kay!

I have been off for a while, but now I am back and all caught up. Love the pictures from the Boardwalk as we are just a little over 3 months out. We haven't stayed there in five years due to various reasons and I can't wait to be back in the Creepy Clown Pool (with its easy walk to EPCOT and DHS).

We loved being able to walk to either DHS or Epcot. I'm glad for you, that you'll be able to get back there soon! Say "hi" to the creepy clown for me.

I actually love those creepy chairs and wish there was a way to bring them home with me. We have a 120 year old Victorian home and they would fit right in.

I like 'em too, but I don't think they'd fit in here as much as it sounds like they would in your home.

From the comments it appears you had one graduate college. I do agree that you forget about people's children aging. Congrats! That is so exciting.

Yes, it's crazy -- I wish they could stay at trip-report-age! We had another big event this past weekend that I will post some pictures of.

Sounds like the trip is still going well. Looking forward to reading more and isn't it about time to book the next one?

Mary Kay

Well, the next one will have to wait a couple of years until James' graduation. I have a couple of people using some of my points for their honeymoon (at HHI) right now. :rolleyes1

I actually made to park closing a couple of times and while there is no hard and firm GET OUT the shops will stay open for a while after rides close. Then the shops close or at least stop letting people in. People in can of course finish their purchases.
Then after hearing about actually working hours from Caitlin and other CM's I assume it is count out the money, clean up and restock and then to make sure most if not all guests are gone from the park then they get to leave.

We've never come close to staying that late, we're just not night owls. It's good to know that the GET OUT's are somewhat gentle. Yes, I imagine there is a lot to do to get the stores closed and ready for the next day.

Someone just posted posted one with KYLIE on the back. Yikes there is a 3rd one!!!!

Interesting. I wonder where it is.

I am not on instragram but I am thinking Lauren had a special day - Hope all went smoothly and the proud papa can relax ( and put away his checkbook now)

Yes! I'll post some pictures shortly. I know some of you are very interested to see.

Lauren and David's Wedding!!!

A quick update on a big event in our family -- Lauren and David were married this past Friday. I've posted some pictures on Instagram, but will try to get you folks caught up.

We went swing dancing the weekend before. Lauren and David met at a swing dancing club in college, and besides, I had to practice (ie. learn from step 1), for the big father-daughter dance. The handsome young man next to Marlene is her boyfriend from Ohio, and the statuesque young lady next to Judy is an exchange student we had from France a few years ago. She has kept in contact with Marlene and wanted to visit us this summer. We said that she must come for the wedding!

Lauren's headpiece and necklace were handmade by a friend of ours from when we lived in North Carolina. http://www.smhjewelry.com

This one was right before we walked out. We could peek out of the window and see the bridal party enter, and it was just us they were waiting for. It was an unbelievable father/daughter moment.

We had a brunch at our house the next day, and were able to decorate with this sign from the reception and many, many flowers!

It was a WONDERFUL weekend and we feel truly blessed.

Good times at Boardwalk! Glad you got some time in the pool, IT is certainly interestingly themed.

Sometimes, if you are in your room and not in a rush to get anywhere, a Disney rainstorm can be fun to watch.

I don't know much about BW- the secret door is new to me (but I know all about the ones at BC and YC).

Community Hall looks pretty impressive, too. Do you pay to play things like air hockey and the video game that are in there or are they gratis?

Space, Jungle, BTM and Wishes, plus an awesome meet with Caitlin, make for a super night!

:goodvibes

Congratulations Lauren and David!

Lauren is a pretty girl, but WOW OH WOW!!! She looked gorgeous on her wedding day and her dress is amazing!

Wishing the happy couple a lifetime of years together.

:love::love:

The Mickey and Minnie ears at the rehearsal dinner were a perfect touch.

Beautiful Bride and wedding pictures! It looks like everyone had a great time. And I loved the Mickey touches. Thanks for sharing

Absolutely gorgeous. :love::love:

I can see the tears forming .... of happiness. I am sure that is a moment you will cherish forever. :goodvibes

What a beautiful day!!! Thank you for sharing Lauren's and David's day :bride: ( Yours and Judy's too ;) )

Goodness gracious, you were spot on in your previous update about the impression thanks to TRs about the ageless-ness of your kids - I originally came to comment on how I'm finally caught up and all I can say is goodness gracious Lauren is married!! It looks like a truly wonderful day and I wish so much happiness on you all.

Congratulations to Lauren and David! Her dress was absolutely beautiful. I wish them all the happiness in the world!

Gotta love the accessories.

Great shots. Looks like a beautiful bride and a proud father.

It was a WONDERFUL weekend and we feel truly blessed.

Congratulations to Lauren, David, and the family! Wishing them many, many years of happiness together.

Congrats on gaining a new member of your crew of merry adventurers! Beautiful pictures.

I'm dying to get to your HH portion of the trip report to see your kids' reactions.

Yes, that's half the fun -- if you're staying at a new (to you) resort, you have to check out all of the amenities, right?

Sometimes, if you are in your room and not in a rush to get anywhere, a Disney rainstorm can be fun to watch.

I totally agree. And they do such a good job with them, how the control the weather and all.

I don't know much about BW- the secret door is new to me (but I know all about the ones at BC and YC).

It's at the far end of the building, closest to DHS.

Community Hall looks pretty impressive, too. Do you pay to play things like air hockey and the video game that are in there or are they gratis?

No, they're all free. So a much better idea to steer your kids there than to the pay-arcade, if they have a videogame penchant like my son does. You can also rent movies there to take to the room, and they're free to DVC members.

Space, Jungle, BTM and Wishes, plus an awesome meet with Caitlin, make for a super night!

:goodvibes

It was a super night. We'd had a full day and still squeezed in a few things to top it off.

Congratulations Lauren and David!

Thanks Dee. (I agree with everything you said!) It was an all-around great day, well weekend really since we had the rehearsal, wedding, and a brunch the following day.

The Mickey and Minnie ears at the rehearsal dinner were a perfect touch.

She bought those on the Boardwalk during our trip. I'm not sure if it'll come up in the trip report or not -- probably not if I don't have a picture to post of her buying them, which I probably don't.

Beautiful Bride and wedding pictures! It looks like everyone had a great time. And I loved the Mickey touches. Thanks for sharing

Thank you Vanessa. It was a great time, and from what I could tell, everyone did enjoy themselves.

Somehow a perfect touch!!!! :earsgirl::earsboy:

It kept the rehearsal a little bit light-hearted!

Absolutely gorgeous. :love::love:

Thanks Pat. Oh, the headpiece and necklace were handmade by a friend of ours in Wilmington, NC. http://www.smhjewelry.com I think I'll edit the post to add that.

I can see the tears forming .... of happiness. I am sure that is a moment you will cherish forever. :goodvibes

It was an amazing moment. I've heard dads tell of what an honor it was to walk their daughter down the aisle, but I think that moment right before going out, when it was just the two of us, was one I'll cherish even more.

What a beautiful day!!! Thank you for sharing Lauren's and David's day :bride: ( Yours and Judy's too ;) )

You're welcome Pat!

You mean I didn't have to go to all of that trouble to make my point, Jenn?

Thank you!

Congratulations to Lauren and David! Her dress was absolutely beautiful. I wish them all the happiness in the world!

Thanks Clare. She's such a fan of "Say Yes to the Dress" that I was a little worried about that particular line of the budget, but she actually made a great find in that one.

Gotta love the accessories.

It's all about the accessories. So they tell me.

Great shots. Looks like a beautiful bride and a proud father.

Thanks Mark. I was a beaming dad all day long.

Congratulations to Lauren, David, and the family! Wishing them many, many years of happiness together.

Thank you!

Congrats on gaining a new member of your crew of merry adventurers! Beautiful pictures.

Thank you. Yes, and he's never been to WDW before, so there'll be an initiation somewhere down the road!

I'm dying to get to your HH portion of the trip report to see your kids' reactions.

I'm such a bad trip reporter, taking so long to get through this. But as you can see, we've had some distractions pulling me away from TR writing. I can tell you this much though, Lauren liked Hilton Head so much that she and David honeymooned there.

Thanks for sharing your family's special day. Beautiful pictures!

You're welcome, thanks!

Very, very beautiful, Glenn! A beautiful bride and a beautiful location and party. You all look so very happy! Congratulations to all of the Glennbo Family from our home to yours!!

That's encouraging! I took note of their so-so feelings about Vero Beach because my two would probably feel the same away about a straight-up beach resort like that. I'll look forward to updates once everyone decompresses from the big day.

Congratulations to all of you! Lauren was a beautiful bride, and the wedding looks beautiful, too! I love the Minnie bride hat for the rehearsal! :goodvibes I was going to ask where the honeymoon was, and then I see it was HH. Seems like a good choice if it's not WDW. :rotfl2:

Thank you for posting these wonderful wedding pictures! Lauren was a stunningly beautiful bride and I love the picture of you walking her down the "aisle" (quotation marks because it was just a lawn ;)). Congratulations to the young couple, I hope they have a great start into married life!

Thanks for pictures of all the creepy crap at the Boardwalk. Now I won't be able to sleep for a few weeks.

In all seriousness though, it is a very nice resort and it looks like it worked out well for your family even if the living room area was a bit crowded.

I'm glad you got to go to MK and try out JC and BTMRR at night. Definitely a couple of things you need to try at least once.

Congratulations to Lauren on her wedding! Looks like it was a beautiful day for it!

Congratulations! What a beautiful bride/wedding/day!

I've been following along on your trip reports for years and can't believe your daughter is old enough to be married. How does the time go so fast??
