Photopass Superthread!

Hi. I pre- purchased the 7 day option and since we were in DL for 9 days I have not activated it yet; I wanted to decide when to start the 7 days after I look at pics. I just got a photo pass card the first day and used it for our trip. At the Surf's Up breakfast I spoke with the Photographer and all I had to do was show her my email confirmation that I purchased the pass plus and she instantly added the non-watermarked pics to my account. Super easy.

I was just trying to buy the 1 week PP+ and I'm wondering if I will get a disc or just digital downloads? Also, If we're leaving in 2 weeks for DLR should I be worried at all about a voucher coming in the mail?

Sorry, I just remember how it worked last year and I'm having trouble catching up on the new way of doing PP+.

You just get digital downloads for the $69 option. If you want the disk, you will need to stop by the photo store on Main Street or in DCA and pay to upgrade.

You don't need to get a voucher in the mail. They'll send you an activation code via email that you can activate on your phone by downloading the DLR app, so you'll have it as soon as you purchase. If you download the DLR app, you can add the code to the app and just show it to them when you want photos. Or if you don't want to do that you can get a card from any PP photographer -- but you will have to link that card to your account (which you can do later when you get home). If you don't have the app you would have to do like the poster above and have your confirmation to show at any character meal to get the (digital) photos there.

Unlike the old PP+, this new one does not come with a printed copy of character meal pictures. But you do still get the digitals at character meals.

From there, you will see a link for "Photopass Plus - One Day." Click on it, even though you want a week (yes, really!) That will take you to a page where you can buy either a day or a week. :)

Thank you so much! I can never seem to find anything on their website...

I noticed it requires me to sign in. I currently have an AP so I hope that by signing in I don't screw something up!

I know with the OLD PP+ if we had an AP they told us not to use our AP as our PP card because it would not work. I am guessing that's still the same with this updated version?

Thank you all so much for your help!

Hi --

I just got back from Disneyland and went to Photopass to access my pictures. I saw the watermarked thumbprints and bought the 1 week option. I tried to purchase some prints but I couldn't figure out how to buy multiple pictures. It wanted me to checkout separately for each picture I wanted to purchase. Is there a way to pay for more than 1 picture at a time? Better yet, is there a way I can download the pictures to my iPad so I can go to CVS to print them?

I haven't done Photopass in years, and then it was at WDW. It's too bad you can't add borders from Disneyland. They really add to the pictures.

Thanks for the help.

I know the borders are gone ( which is awful and I am soooo sad about it!) But are there any editing features? Zooming in, changing to black and white...etc?

It's not very obvious how to do that -- but if you click on any photo, a message should appear just above the photo gallery that says "Select all visible media." You can check that box so all your photos are selected, then click the Download button.

There's no editing from the Disney site. You just have to download them and edit on your computer using whatever software you have.

I'm pretty sure someone said you can add borders in the photo shops in the parks. Can anyone confirm if this is still the case?

For the life of me, I can't figure out how they found a way on the WDW system but not the DLR system.

WE are going in November for 4 days and want to purchase the week option... is it better for me to buy beforehand or when I get home? If I prepurchase, how will they know this so I don't have watermarks on the photos?

Hello there! I have a question that is probably quite stupid but here it is anyway: I don't know how to buy the one week Photopass option. Through the app I can buy the one day option, but I cant find the full week option. What can I do?
Thank youuu!

I couldn't find the option on the app either when I checked but you can purchase it online. If you go to the Disneyland website, under "Parks and Tickets" you'll see the "Photography" header with Photopass underneath it. Once you click on that it will take you to the Photopass+ page. Just above the photo banner is an "additional products" tab and you can purchase it there. Make sure you are signed in though otherwise you'll get nowhere.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! This helped me tons!!!

It really doesn't matter if you purchase before or after. You will have watermarks on the photos even if you pre-purchase until you "officially" choose your starting date (which can be done on the app or online). After that, the watermarks go away from that date forward.
The only reason I can think of that you might NOT want to wait until you get home would be if you want the CD or upgraded package. You can only purchase that at the park.

The only other thing I can think of is that we had a little problem getting them to give us the download link at Goofy's until we showed them our Photopass number. I think they were just a little confused on how it worked, but it might be helpful to have it ahead of time just in case you run into that if you're doing a character meal.

Thank you!!! So when you visit your very first PP photographer do they give you a card to use all week??

I've noticed a few CMs are not always up on the changing offerings and what's included. I know some on these boards have stated they've been told that the code didn't exist until a picture package (the physical dining one) was purchased (I'm still baffled by this answer people got since the code was printed on a separate card in the package and easily removed). I had zero issues getting mine with my pass at Plaza Inn. I just said I had a Sig+ with PP+ so I would just like my download code. I didn't have to show anything or prove I had the pass I said I had.

I did get the impression, though, that they're instructed to only give the code to those who already have PP+ (either one day, one week, or through the passes). So I would agree that it's better to have it in advance (even if not activated yet) to show one is entitled to the code.

Are you talking about if you have purchased in advance or if you haven't purchased yet?

Either way, you are able to get a card from the first PP photographer you use and use it all week. However, if you purchase in advance you ALSO have the option of downloading a code (you will get it as soon as you make your purchase) to the DL app on your phone and using that instead of a card. It's like a little barcode on your phone. Or you can do a combination of both; sometimes use your phone and sometimes use a card, which is good if your party splits up. When you get home you can just add the photos on the card to the photos on your app.

THANK YOU! That is just what I was looking for! I really appreciate it!

If I pre purchase how do I pick the day for it to be activated? Also can I access the photos from the website on my laptop? Finally once downloaded to my laptop is it okay to have them printed from a store??

After the problem I had trying to buy multiple photos and being forced to checkout for each one separately, I emailed Photopass. Their reply was that the Disneyland Photopass web site was set up that way and the shipping charges are nominal for that reason. It was $1 shipping for each picture. I don't understand if the Photopass site for WDW allows for multiple prints in 1 order (at least it always did), why the Disneyland one would be different.

Also, someone said that when I clicked on a picture I should get an option to download all media. I didn't get that option. All I got were buttons underneath for download and Facebook and a trash can to delete the photo.

I finally managed to get the pictures I wanted downloaded to my iPad (most times after saving the picture when I tried to go back to the gallery I got the message that someone ate the page with the disgusting picture of Stitch with his tongue up his nose). I'm going to go to CVS over the weekend and try printing them. Hopefully it will work.

What's really annoying is that I specifically stopped in the camera store on Main Street to ask questions and from the answers I got it seemed like it was the same as before. I asked if I would be able to edit them and add borders etc and they said yet. They never even mentioned the disk. If I had known about that I probably would have gone that route just to avoid downloading/ordering problems.

Oh well. Live and learn.

When you go on the app and click on a picture, it will ask you if you want to activate starting that day. So if you're there 7 days or less just click on your first picture. The activation is effective as of 6 AM, so if you accidentally click your fourth or fifth picture it doesn't matter as long as it's on the same day. (The pictures have watermarks until you activate, so I activated mine while I was still in the park so I could see my photos better.)

Yes, you can access from your laptop. I looked at my photos in the park from my phone then once I got home I pulled them up on my laptop and downloaded them.

Yes, once you have paid and downloaded the photos are yours and you can print them anywhere. There is no copyright on them.
