Rope Drop is Tip #1!! A June 2016 TR...updated 10/31 pg 19 post 373 THE END!

I'm so glad your plan worked out here! I remember when you were rearranging things to be able to see the fireworks. That last photo is absolutely gorgeous. Sadly, we are also leaning toward ponying up the dough for the dessert party next time. The problem is that we have done the Wishes dessert party 3 times in a row and it's become a tradition. I don't want to give it up, but I also don't want to pay for 2 parties! Decisions decisions. Looking forward to hearing about your MK experience on the day we apparently just missed each other!

Great fireworks pics! I'm leaning towards booking the dessert party for our December trip. DH is leaning the other way but left it up to me. No pressure here!

Awww...I really miss the old fireworks too! I loved how you could get a great view from almost anywhere in the park. Now I feel like if you don't get a prime viewing of the Chinese Theater, then you'll miss out on half the show. The new show I feel has less fireworks, and more "effects". It looks amazing in it's own right and I'm excited to see them too. Just wish they could release dates past October!!

:) Now going to catch up on everything else...

Great fireworks pictures! When we saw that show in January we were completely in awe; honestly felt it was the best Disney fireworks display we'd seen with Hallowishes being the possible exception. So I too am disappointed they changed it and as you know I'm not a big SW fan so the projections won't do much for me.......little spoiler here, earlier this week Steve and I were able to see some of the new SW fireworks very well from Epcot (don't worry I have some pics for my report :)) and they looked pretty good! But I still don't think I'll be as impressed as I was with the original SW show.

I have been reading along and enjoying your trip report and then I realised I haven't actually come back to comment.

The aquariums are great at The Seas. After a poor meal at Coral Reef a number of years ago I commented that you would be much better grabbing a quick service and sitting up there. The boys look so focussed on the tanks. I honestly could sit for hours watching sea creatures swimming round -it's strangely therapeutic!

I like your Disney Springs family photos. I didn't realise they had Photopass at Disney Springs.

Glad you enjoyed the Star Wars fireworks! The star wars music is so good. I really enjoyed the new show and did it without booking the dessert party. I will get to in my TR in a time far, far away!

I'm so undecided about the party with the way they are doing it now. Of course, we have tons of time to figure out if we want to do it or not bc the way they are releasing dates now, June won't be bookable until May!

If we don't do the SW one, I may do the Wishes one just to do one. But I really prefer the SW one. Just sounds like a logistical nightmare with two young kids.

Haha. Pretty much everything at Disney is up to me bc my DH hasn't been since he was a kid. I don't feel the pressure at this point but I'm sure I will as we get closer bc I really need to hook him with this trip!

I'm so glad we got to see the previous one. It truly was amazing! I'm sure the new one is good, too, but just seems like more of a hassle which can take some of the magic away. Yes, I will probably get to read about your experience before we head down, assuming you do a TR and based on your updating schedule, of course, so that will be good!

Yeh, the previous version was just amazing! I'm sure the new one is good but it seems like much more of a hassle to see it! Looking forward to the photos!

No problem! I do the same thing, quite often!

They really loved it. To be honest, that's probably the first time they had seen anything like it! And we have the GA aquarium here but we have never been. It's incredibly expensive - I think like $40 a ticket, which is so much, especially compared to a ticket for Disney.

I like your Disney Springs family photos. I didn't realise they had Photopass at Disney Springs.
I probably didn't know it either. We just stumbled across it!

I will be interested to read about your experience. My only issue is with two little ones, I don't want to have to stake out a spot very early on. We will probably have to do it at MK but there's so much to go do while one person holds down the "fort" so to speak. Not as much at DHS. But I've heard the dessert party isn't the easiest to maneuver with two littles, either.

Just read all of your report so far! I'm so sorry your plans were so thrown off every day, but so far it sounds like everyone had fun! We are going in Feb and I'm currently debating about the Star Wars dessert party myself. At first I thought it would be a great plan since we did the Tomorrowland Terrace party on our first trip, but now I'm wondering if we should just buy some treats and drinks and find a spot. Frozen Nutella is tempting, though :lovestruc

Thanks for reading! Yes, regardless of thrown off plans, we most definitely had fun! I'm really not loving the newest inception of the SW party. But who truly knows the changes that may or may not occur in the next few months, right? It's so hard to make plans in advance.

Uh-oh. Sounds like I'm going to have to look into how they're doing it now. I haven't been following the SW thread lately, so I'm out of the loop.

Yeh just look at some of the reviews on the SW thread. Supposedly they upped the tix to 175 so it's quite crowded and the tables are only high tops in launch bay so young kids can't reach. I think as of today they put more benches about so that may be ok for the little ones, but there's so much time between now and then, it's hard to speculate how things will be, so I'm going to reserve judgement for now.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I won't even attempt to plan or not plan it anytime soon, as I remember how difficult it was to pre-plan for this past summer with all of the changes. I don't like the idea of high tops, though. I guess we'll see.

Joining!!! Been scrolling for some new trip reports and stumbled onto yours. LOVING IT!! Your boys are just adorable and having been to the parks with toddlers I totally get the feeling of being rushed and trying to fit everything in and missing out on some of the just soaking up the magic moments. Also I get the frustration of planning things and having someone throw off the plan. We always go as a group of 12 and that can get chaotic. On our last trip I was at every rope drop because I said I am going and you can either come with me or meet me there later. Most of the time everyone was with me. My kids are older now so it's much easier.

We did TRex for the first time and I liked it. It's a little loud but my kiddos loved it. My DH and I enjoyed adult beverages, which made it much more enjoyable. I can't remember what he got but I got the Raptor Rita and the two of us split that Chocolate Extinction dessert although we barely put a dent in it.

I had so many comments as I was reading all 13 pages but as usual I get to the end and forgot all of it so I will just start from here. Looking forward to the next update. :)

Thanks for joining in! Thank you also for the compliment on the boys. They can be adorable...when they want to be...lol. It's definitely a different trip with young kids, that's for sure! And yes, Dad really influenced quite a bit so I'm glad we are getting a Dad break this next trip! That sounds bad, huh?

Next trip we should be able to make some rope drops. And if it goes well, I'm sure we will keep going with that plan, as my DH doesn't really like crowds.

T-Rex was worth the visit for the boys and yes, I'm sure I had an adult beverage! We will skip it this next time though.

Thanks, again, for reading and commenting!

I'm really hoping

I hope things are easier with planning this upcoming trip...but I don't really think that will be the case as Disney seems to be on this short-notice train and they aren't getting off! Like they have switched EMM at DHS to Saturday's and that's supposed to be our DHS day for JTA. We are planning a PPO at H&V to get signed up early but I hear the EMM crowd can make the sign up line long...which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. But who knows if that will all be the same in June, right?? Ugh. Well we have 3 months before ADRs so, we'll see if anything changes between now and then.

Ugh, I had forgotten the feeling of trying to plan around the constant changes. I'm sure something will change between now and when we book ADRs and I'm sure it will change again between making the ADRs and actually taking the trips. Oh well. We can cry and commiserate on pre-trip reports again. ;)

I'm a little behind but trying to get caught up.

We've been guilty of losing lots of time in The Seas. There's just so much to see and explore. TREX is one of our family favorites. Dennis would eat there every trip if he could. I love the fact that Disney has so many playground for kids to just play.I really think young kids would be happy just to swim in the pool and play at the playgrounds.

You got some really good photo pass pictures @ Disney Springs. I really enjoyed your fireworks pictures too. I'm really bummed we missed this.
