***Official November 2016 Thread***

Homestretch, this last minute packing is driving me crazy, LOL! I keep changing my mind on how many hoodies/jackets and pants to bring for the kiddos in case it's cooler in the evening. I have to do laundry in the middle of our stay so at least I can wash things if I don't bring enough.:)

weather is making packing tough, in September/October our last trips was pretty easy.
now planning less shorts, more long pants and a few capris.

It's going down to the 20's here tonight but tomorrow it will be 80 in The Big Blue Pool at AOA!! Lol

Oh, fun!!! Enjoy!!! We will be there one week from tomorrow!!!
:fish:

This has seemed like a long week as I have had to put in extra hours at school so I haven't gotten as much done as I wanted. I felt like I was ahead in preparations, but now I've fallen behind. At least I have a weekend to catch up!

I feel the same way we lost one our medical assistants and everyone is stretched thin at work. I've be so exhausted when I get home haven't had time to do anything else. I have the weekend to pull it together. I don't want to pack until it gets closer when I have a better idea of the weather. We leave a week from Sunday so at least I'll have next Saturday. Of course I scheduled a mani/pedi and a hair appointment for next Saturday :rolleyes1
I'll be too excited to sleep next Saturday anyway ::yes::

Yep, tonight is looking like a high of 29. Brrrr La Nina has arrived. I checked the extended forecast and so far so good for our flight on the 22nd, but it shows possible snow flurries on Thanksgiving! Enjoy...Disney is showing 80!

I know this week is going to be long, especially since I have to fit two weeks worth of my own schoolwork in so that I can have it all turned in on the Monday before we leave, because I am NOT doing homework while at Disney...silly college professors.

Hey everyone! We arrived Wednesday and have had two awesome park days! My almost three year old is enjoying it SO much more than last year (though we did have a meltdown at the Ariel M&G!). She is wearing her birthday button and we were selected for first row seats at the Lion King show today! Plus a birthday card and cupcake at Tusker House. Weather has been awesome! Crowds seem about the same as last year (so moderately heavy, but manageable with a good plan).

You sound like my DD she is determined to have everything turned in before our trip. Especially after hurricane Matthew closed down her college for 2 weeks, the professors are really pressed to fit everything in.
Good luck with getting your homework done.

Thanks for taking the time to check in with us. I'm so glad your trip is going well and :bday: to your DD
I'm sure she loved the Lion King show.

I can't believe how close I am getting now to my trip! I really have enjoyed following this thread and hearing about your plans, so I thought I'd join in! We had to have our family Thanksgiving early this year for logistical reasons, which meant DH and I were "off the hook" for family obligations for the big day. I have always dreamt of waking up in WDW on my birthday, but knew that would never happen as my birthday is always around Thanksgiving.

Well 2 weeks from yesterday, I will be waking up on November 24th, at the Polynesian, on Thanksgiving morning, which also happens to be my birthday this year!!!!!

I have ADRs for Liberty Tree Tavern, BoG breakfast, BOMA (for Thanksgiving meal!), SANAA, and BOMA (for breakfast). We will be doing 2 nights at Poly, and then one night in Tampa to do BG, and then 2 nights at AKL.

I have never been to WDW during a holiday, so I am just prepared for crowds, but feel good that I have great FPs and ADRs.

@ariane37 I read your TR from last year, and I hope my bathtub is clean at least! I don't think I have ever gotten so worked up reading a TR before!! Hope you have a better experience this year!

Have a great weekend and safe travels my Disney fam!
OMG I sincerely hope your bathroom is clean, too lol! We've had 2 wonderful stress-free trips ( with clean bathrooms :thumbsup2) since last Nov. so my faith is restored, and I'm feeling positive all will be well when we arrive next Sat., too. I hope you have a wonderful trip pixiedust: And a great Disney birthday! I'll be doing another TR when we return, hopefully you'll follow along and just enjoy it and not have reason to get worked up-that'll be to my benefit, too!
AKL is one of my 2 favorite resorts and we loved Boma breakfast :goodvibes

Woooohoooo mouse dining came through before touring plans! We got 1900 PF on the 23rd finally! Had to give up Crystal Palace, and find something to replace the 1900 on the 25th, so we will try out Boatwrights at Port Orleans-Riverside...menu looks pretty good!

Can't believe this time next Sunday we'll be in our Happy Place :cloud9:
I have our packing lists made but won't start packing till Saturday. I'm a last minute packer :rolleyes1
So far the weather is looking good hopefully it won't change much as we get closer.
Just have to get through this last week of work :surfweb:

I know I'll do some last minute packing but I'm actually trying to get some done today, while watching Christmas movies on Hallmark channel :santa: Love the movies, and as excited I am to be going to Disney in 6 days I HATE the packing!
I agree the weather looks SO good! Hope your last week of work goes fast :car:

I'm back...my trip was just a quick one-day trip plus half a day at Disney Springs. Our park day was Thursday -- we did Epcot EMH for Frozen (15 minute wait at rope drop -- not bad), then did TT (single rider), Finding Nemo, Living with the Land, Journey into Imagination, and Soarin, as well as the Food and Wine booths that we wanted to do. The crowd calendar showed it as a 6 and that seems about right. It wasn't too bad, and we didn't wait too long at any of the Food and Wine booths. I was really disappointed, though, that we weren't able to get any same day FP+ for anything, at any park, that fit our schedule. The attraction lines were crazy -- 45 minutes for Spaceship Earth at 2 pm on a Thursday in November....and no FP+ availability at all for later that day. I've never had that happen before, even on our August trips when the crowd levels are at 9. So that was frustrating, but oh well. We left Epcot at about 2:30 and headed over to Hollywood Studios to use our FP+ for ToT and TSMM. Tried to do RnRC single rider but that line wasn't open, and everything else had insane waits -- 40 minutes for Great Movie Ride, well over an hour for Star Tours.... So we just did ToT and TSMM and then hopped over to MK since we had tickets for MVMCP. Was disappointed to see that they weren't checking party tickets when we arrived around 5 pm -- they were giving wristbands to everyone who came in the park. The crowds were fairly heavy until around 7 pm, but we were able to do all of the attractions we wanted to do except 7DMT which was down most of the night. The fireworks were amazing. We watched the second parade and then headed out of the park around 11:40 pm. It was chilly first thing in the morning and then in the evening....I had a long cardigan on over my t-shirt and jeans and almost bought a sweatshirt/hoodie, but I ended up being fine.

The next day we went to Disney Springs and did some shopping. The crowds weren't bad at all and the Christmas decorations, though rather sparse in many areas, were lovely.

The weather was gorgeous while we were there -- high of about 82 degrees, clear skies, sunny, and a gentle breeze. It was really lovely.

I hope everyone enjoys their trips!

My mom and I are going for a short mother daughter trip at the end of the month and I'm so excited! I've had a pretty serious illness and we are celebrating getting back on my feet (hence the short trip I've been on medical leave from work) - we have reservations for BOG and SCI-FI. We have tickets to the December 1st Christmas party and I can't wait for her to see it snow on Main street... I went last year, but this will be her first time. I also want to take her to Japan for pearl while we are at Epcot. It's going to be amazing.
