Well WDW is 2 for 2 in resort room remodels (POP and CSR) that our family does "not" like. Both for the same reason, they have did away with the table and chairs:( Our family will normally eat breakfast in the room, whether it's cereal or bagels or me grabbing something from the FC, as well as late night snacks after the parks. With this new setup it looks like we will be all over the room eating. Normally we just moved the table close to the foot of the bed and DW and I would sit on the bed while our DDs sat on the chairs by the table and we got to eat together. Now it looks like our youngest will eat at the desk (facing the wall) our oldest will be in the corner chair with the small end table and DW and I are still on the bed, but with no place to put our plate or drink:( Not to mention I do not see a bath tub for our youngest to take a bath.

Sorry, I am new to the thread. Is the Food Court undergoing construction?
Our trip is: 3/11/17-3/14/17

No, the food court and all amenites are open. That was CBR that had the food court closing.

The food court, pools, and fitness center at CSR have all been recently refurbed.

There isn't a table in the rooms now.

Sorry, thinking of POR with round table and chairs. But didn't CSR have a desk that was separated from the dresser and a couple of small ottomans that you could sit on by the desk? I still remember we were able to use the desk to eat at with more then 1 person.

Hard floors, huge TV, and walk-in shower? Sign me up! Reminds me of a room I'd get at a Hyatt. I know it's a bit too modern for some, but I absolutely love the look. Too bad I can't book anywhere (Disney and 3rd parties) for the dates I want to go in September.

Yes they have a desk seperate and the 2 small ottomans. However it's not a desk you could pull out into the middle. From what I've seen of the new rooms there is just as much desk space to eat off as the old rooms, maybe even a little more. Not ideal for what you are describing, but I don't think they've made it any worse.

We are supposed to stay for 3 nights in the middle of June....but we do have POFQ as a back up. Only a $150 dollar difference so not devastating (but would cover a couple lunches ) Any advice on which resort we should pick?
Will be myself, hubby, three DC. Ages 14, 13, and 2. Just looking for sleeping, swimming, breakfast, and fast buses.....will any of this be affected? Thanks for any help!

I could be wrong but wouldn't the walk in shower just be for the handicap rooms? I would assume they would put tubs in the non-handicap rooms.

Business hotels like the Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt are starting to ditch tubs and go to showers only. I've stayed at Hyatt's all over the country the past few years and they're all showers now. If they're planning to pivot CSR to cater specifically to business travelers, I'd assume it'll be going to shower-only.

Well that is just a bummer and would take them off my list of places to stay. After a long day in the park I like to soak in a hot bath and don't want to go over to the main pool to get in the hot tub and deal with kids jumping in and out.

I think no tub, if that's really going to be the outcome in all rooms, is going to be a big problem for families with small children and infants. Even business guests have their families come along sometimes.

The existing tubs aren't really big enough that an adult would be soaking in them anyway.

My guess is that Disney expects families with small children will stay at a different resort. CSR has always been more of an adult friendly resort compared to the other Mod's. With these changes they are obviously focusing on the Business and adult guests. Everyone in my family will love the new showers. I wouldn't be using one of those dinky little hotel tubs anyway. Maybe in a Deluxe resort with a big jacuzzi tub. I'm guessing the Suites in the tower will have the big jacuzzi tubs.

I get what you're saying, but they have one of the coolest main pools on property and have regularly offered activities for kids. Add in great views of fireworks and families are definitely interested. It has had something for everyone despite being a convention resort. That's my only confusion. If they can attract both business guests and people with kids then more $$ for them. I don't personally want to use the tub, but there's no way my toddler would be happy about a shower.

After seeing a maid in my room in a very well known, exclusive golf resort in CA take a sponge and scrub the toilet down inside and then go straight to the jacuzzi tub from the toilet to scrub it out with that same sponge, toilet water dripping off of it--- I realized it happens everywhere and I can say with blessed assurance I will never, ever sit my behind down inside any hotel tub.

I never liked taking a bath in any tub but my own before seeing that happen, though, not even when I had infants and babies. I would get in the shower, hold them to me while I washed them and hand them out to my DH who was waiting to towel them off.
I guess it goes without saying-- I like the new shower. :)
