Finally after 2 weeks of our offer being accepted, it was finally sent in for ROFR (took a long time in my eyes for the seller to return the signed contract)

aokeefe- $89-$15,016-150-BWV-Dec 0/16, 300/17 (150 pts banked from 2016), 150/18 sent 6/1

Try link on post #1 to fix the formatting. Killer deal on BWV at any rate!

I am so annoyed and confused so maybe you guys can help me understand this situation. As of 5/11 I signed my contract, gave my deposit, got everything settled and was told by my agent that I would be notified as soon as Disney let her know about ROFR. So I have been waiting impatiently for three full weeks. I just got an email from the company stating that they just sent the contract to Disney today and Disney has 30 days for ROFR. Of course I was completely confused and emailed asking what was the three week hold up. Apparently the seller's wife only just agreed to sign yesterday. However, I was NEVER told this for the past three weeks! Is this standard practice? I understand it is what it is but I would assume they would of let me know that there was a hold up for 21 full days instead of just not mentioning anything at all and have me waiting thinking I'm only a few days away from a ROFR decision. I am a member already but only have bought direct before so this whole process is new to me. So I guess I am back to the drawing board and back to Day 1 of ROFR. =(
That's so frustrating! I've purchased resale 4x and it's always gone to ROFR within 1-2 days of the offer being accepted.

Ok, here I go again, hopefully I will have better luck this time!

Hang in there! Our very first DVC purchase was 50 points VB. ;)

Another long wait before being submitted! Sorry to hear that you needed to start waiting before all the real waiting!

This is not normal. It sounds like your broker didn't keep you notified of what was happening. I have heard things like this happening, that's why when our seller was dragging her feet a few days to accept the offer, I made a decision if she also doesn't have the offer signed within the 10 days I can back out without penalty, I would give up the contract. My DH has a co-worker that had to wait 3 weeks for the seller to sign the contract AFTETR it passed ROFR. Some sellers are in bad situations and getting divorced or having financial problems, that's why they are selling. Its one of the potential hassles of saving thousands of dollars on a resale.

Yowza! Passed ROFR Today!

Good to see this. Mine was sent 5/24. Hope to hear soon. Congrats to you!

Passed today so no more worrying going into the weekend. Paid a little more for this one than I might have liked to, but the interesting contracts started going fast between the one I lost and the one I ended up with. I was always willing to pay a little more for the right contract and less hassle, so we'll see if this turned out to be the better fit with more points.

It's my birthday, so hoping that helps, lol!!!

We PASSED, got word today! I submitted on my birthday & 10 days later (on my deceased sister's birthday) we passed!! Love good news on a normally blah day!! Can't get over that excitement. I think all of you are the only ones who truly get it.

Wow, that's a long, long time for the broker to keep you out of the loop. Usually it seems ROFR submittal happens within 1-2 days of the acceptance. This is not normal, so I hope this doesn't sour your experience going forward. What resale company are you using?
I hope the rest of your resale goes super quick now!

I am trying to not let it sour my experience. We absolutely LOVE Vero Beach and the price is so amazing so as long as Disney let's us have it I will eventually get over the wait once it is mine. =) We figure we are going to use our direct points for WDW and these points if we get them for VB and the occasional HH so we feel like we have 2 Disney trips a year and one beach trip a year. So fingers crossed.
I am using Fidelity. Process has been frustrating but I'm hopeful the rest will be smooth sailing. No point in letting the negative get me down for too long!
