Pop Century Room Renovations

And the beds are on the short wall.

Respectfully, no, they're on the long wall. On the short wall, two 60" wide beds would leave only 21" for the nightstands, bed access, and the door.

Thank you. I woke up thinking that even after about 25 POP stays I was crazy.

Thanks for all the good info, your site has been most helpful over time.

Thank you! I couldn't find actual numbers. So with two 60" wide beds, that would leave 10' 2". That's assuming both beds are queen-width. If they're actual queens, the Inova bed will take up more width. Three feet, at least, of that is doorway swing (so, potentially an air mattress could fit there.) Seven feet+ left for bed access from both sides and the nightstands. Say the Murphy bed Woodside nightstand doesn't interfere with door access. So that allows, say, a foot for that nightstand, which leaves six feet. Three feet between beds, three feet between the permanent bed and the wall. All measurements guessed, of course.

I didn't think the Value rooms had that much space!

They are on the short wall. The beds are along the same wall as the entrance door -- hence it being the "short wall". The TV, dresser, new beverage center, connecting door (if connecting rooms) are on the "long" wall.

ETA: Didn't mean to beat a dead horse....I must have been posting the exact same time as HopperFan. :)

Pretty sure those are the original test room photos that were circulating at the start of the project. They do appear to match the thru the window photos so many amazing people have snagged though.

I don't remember the photo with the curtains and coffemaker so maybe that one is new?

Sorry guys. I supposed CM posted this yesterday and I got excited to see it ready. But yep no fridge and still no bathroom!

But no fridge so you're probably right!

Strange some of us never saw the coffee station/window pics before. They look new, yet not.

That's weird they have drawers under the coffee station. Makes me wonder if they originally planned to put the refrigerator behind the double doors in the dresser, then realized people would use the drawers for clothing and switched it?

I still want to know what's behind the double doors in the dresser.

You can also tell because there's a runner on the bed.

Ahh, the hottest item on the black market, the stolen bed runners. :tiptoe:

I think back in the day when they first converted to white duvet, they pretty much just had all the comforters cut and hemmed to make the runners .......... so to not do anything to begin with saves money too.

Posted multiple times already. It's why we knew about the beverage station/coffee maker and that the curtains were orange.

From Sept 2016

Here are the pics of the room renovation proposal that were posted awhile ago on here..

Wonder if they are going to do the drop down daybed thing in all the values in the future. I travel with my adult son and while, I'm not a fan of the value resorts, it is a possibility for a quick long weekend trip or a split stay and I'm not sure that would work well for us. I am a tiny woman and would certainly fit on them but I'm not young and not sure how my back would like it. My son could not sleep on them as he has permanent nerve damage in his spine. The two double beds are fine for us but I'm thinking the daybed would be a deal breaker.

The second bed is a Inovabed that has a pillow-top mattress on it identical to the one on the queen bed. What we're not sure yet is whether the Inovabed is a full or queen. That will be the main difference. If you go back in the thread there are pictures from yesterday (top post on page 49) of the 2 mattresses on the beds and they show the similarities. They look very comfortable!

Ah. The shorter of the two long walls. Not one of the actual short walls in an 18'2" x 11'9" room.

Storage shelves? Drawers? A Zonk?

:rotfl2: Considering the short wall also has a big door ............. Well I suppose you could put a bunk bed on that piece of wall, queen on bottom and full on top!! Look at all the room you'd have then!

Yes, I've been in hotels with dresser doors and you open to shelves or one of those "inner drawers". I think we'll have to see what they did to the bathroom to see how much storage there actually is.

But ZONK? You even had me googling that .... didn't help, still confused.
