Brazil - the next likely pavilion

I should clarify...

Both China and Japan have representations that hold/held religious significance at one time...but I don't think we'll see such an overt reference to icons of WESTERN religions...not in the 80's...definitely not now.

I wouldn't call that "overt"
I would tend to agree. Just pointing out that they haven't been afraid to add religious structures relevant to a country before.

I'll also be the first to say that although I wouldn't oppose any world showcase country, Brazil only appeals to me because it's in South America which isn't represented at all. Greece or Egypt. Enough said

Beyond disappointed if that is their choice.

"Emperor's new Groove" and "Up" have been the only films that have taken place in Brazil. If they are going to build an attraction for this pavilion "Up" seems like the most logical choice. It is fairly new and it could really showcase the country.

Somebody check me but I think UP is tied to Venezuela and and Emperor's New Groove is Peru.

Peru (or Colombia) would have been of much more interest to me than Brazil if they were going for SA.

Had hoped that Greece would be the first new addition.

Is there nything that overtly religious in WDW. If there is I'm drawing a blank.

They have this going next to Germany. That would mean the end of the train set... I love that train set.

Can always be moved to the other side of Germany, near Snow White M&G.

Regarding Brazil, I'm neither surprised nor excited. Nothing about a Brazil pavilion (Food, theming or a movie) entices me to want to visit it, though neither does Spain. It's one too many countries (Spain, Mexico and Brazil) that just feel too similar in what they'd offer.

Just my personal opinion.

I'm not religious, but I wouldn't mind the Christ the Redeemer statue. In truth I'd like to see more stuff like that in miniature (cheesy and kitschy but i like it). Like we have the Eiffel Tower (even if only from far away). I'm always disappointed there isn't a Big Ben, Notre Dame, Moulin Rouge windmill, mini Mount Rushmore (sorry I think the American pavilion exterior is pretty much the most boring thing they could think of!)

You're going to have to offer a little more insight as to why you think Spain, Mexico and Brazil would be too similar in what they offer ...

Although, with what WDWNT is saying, I don't like the location choice for Brazil between Italy in Germany. I feel like that isn't enough space for a new pavilion.
Why not? It is a full size country pad the same size as any other. When they built World Showcase each country was designated with a spot of roughly equal size. The American Adventure was given 2 pads to fill because, ya know, 'Merica. But other than AA, each country that's been built and each of the remaining expansion pads are roughly the same size.

Rio .... great movie. Very colorful just like Disney. Import the rum for the Ciprihinas (?) and help the economy recover. Dancing will commence and the people will get a chance to sample the Country without having to take the 15 hour flight. Win Win
