2017 Holidays at Disney World: What's New & What's Returning

I remembered reading a couple tweets that the Jingle Cruise is indeed coming back to WDW for 2017. Below are links to them and a quote from them, as well. If things have changed since these came out, I think Oct 3rd, I'm not aware of them. I tried to go look at the Disney website but having trouble getting it up right now.

A few days ago we reported that the Jingle Cruise was rumored to not be continuing at Disneyland this year and it was still undecided if it was going to make an appearance at Magic Kingdom in Disney World. Well we can confirm that the popular, festive attraction will return to Disney World starting November 2017! You will be able to enjoy this Christmastime overlay of the Jungle Cruise through January 2018.

There was speculation that the holiday overlay to the Jungle Cruise known as Jingle Cruise may not return during the 2017 holiday season. Disney has since updated their website indicating the overlay will return for 2017.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Check out info on the Jungle Cruise page....scroll down...and there it is! Jingle Cruise is returning for the 2017 holiday season! I hope y'all are just as thrilled as my family is! It's an absolute favorite for us as well! Expect it to debut for this season early in November!

I'm wondering what age group the Chip and Dale Christmas Ornament Hunt will be best geared toward. I realize it's new this year, but I'm wondering if anyone has done the Easter Egg Hunt or Ratatouille version that can offer some insight. Thanks for starting this thread PlutoTheDog89!
We did the Easter Egg Hunt last year with my kids (8 and 10). They loved it! Actually all four of us enjoyed it. We're going next month and they can't wait to do the Ratatouille version. I think it's geared for a wide age range. The younger kids will probably need more help finding the ornaments in each country, whereas older kids may not. Either way they enjoy finding them and putting the sticker on the map. I did google the Easter Egg Hunt and found a website that had hints so if we were searching for too long, I looked up a hint.

Thank you, cmorris303, for the helpful reply! This is exactly what I was looking for! We love Epcot, and it’s so great to see them doing activities like this to keep the kids completely engaged as they explore WS!

I have a couple of questions to help plan for my short holiday trip. First, would the Jingle Cruise be more fun during the day or at night? Second, I don't have a lot of time but I'd like to see some resort decorations. Which do you think will be more festive--Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Thanks!
IMO, Wilderness Lodge is more festive. WL and AKL are my two favorite Disney resorts (plus AoA). The AKL decorations are nice too, but they're African themed, so they don't scream traditional Christmas. WL on the other hand is 100% "cabin Christmas," and on a massive scale. We stayed last Thanksgiving and just loved wandering and hanging out in the lobby. Plus it's a fun boat ride from MK

@trill2017 Wilderness, bar none. It's the BEST decorated on property during the holiday season and you'll really be in the holiday spirit there. It feels like you stepped into a cabin or ski lodge in the Pacific Northwest. We would and will stay there some day—we're just obsessed with Beach Club right now.

DH and I are seriously considering pleading temporary insanity and taking a trip for New Years Eve at Disney.
I know both MK and Epcot do HUGE fireworks on the 31st. We're looking at Epcot on the 31st
Doesn't MK do them on a 2nd night too? Or did I imagine this?
Trying to figure out if we can make both shows

No drone show?
We went to see this last year.
So disappointed. Too short. If it didn't return I don't know how big a loss it would be.
If it does return, I hope it's longer.

Here is an update to my previous post about the Jingle Cruise being confirmed for this year at WDW. I was able to get into the Disney site now,(couldn't get it open for my earlier post), and got the link to the Jungle Cruise page which lists the Jingle Cruise. I found it by looking for Christmas rides. Provided the link and the info.

The Jingle Cruise
Join the homesick Jungle Cruise skippers as they set out on a holly jolly journey packed with shenanigans.

Each year during the holiday season, your favorite Jungle Cruise experiences transform into the Jingle Cruise—a festive-yet-familiar adventure, from stem to stern!

As you make your way through attraction queue to the boathouse and beyond, be sure to check out all the merry décor that’s been mailed to the skippers, or that they've created themselves. They’ve even added a few holiday jokes to their tours to help everyone get in the spirit!

But afaik JC isn’t scheduled for downtime. How are they doing Jingle Cruise?
They just add decor to the existing set pieces of the ride. It’s not extensive... it’s similar to how you’d add decorations in your own home for the holidays.

Has there been a release of all the food booths at Epcot this year? I read it was doubling in size over last Christmas.

Thanks.

I've been planning this first week of December trip since last year...I had no idea until yesterday that Illuminations has a holiday tag at the end during the holiday season! I love the finale tags on Illuminations and can't wait to see this one! So excited!
