Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

My son and I will be at AKL Mar 2-7. I'm very excited to experience this resort. DH will hang back since he says he's not into animals or disney, even though I know he's enjoyed each of our prior trips

My wife and I (no kids) have a Savannah view bunk bed room booked for March. We have no interest in the bunk bed since it is just the 2 of us, it just happened to be about $600 cheaper for us to get a savannah view with the bunk bed then just the standard savannah view room, even though the bunk bed rooms tend to be more expensive. We also happen to be getting to the resort pretty early (our flight is scheduled to land at 8AM). Do you think if we told the front desk we wouldn't mind switching to a standard savannah view room and they can upgrade another family to the savannah view bunk bed room, they might be able to help us out and switch things around? I know they figure out room assignments well in advance. Or are we just better off keeping the bunk bed room?

We are staying at AKL in March for the first time. Are there any activities or tours that are exclusive to guests at AKL? Anything we should make an effort to experience while we are there? We've resort hopped to AKL before and have enjoyed viewing the animals and some of the dining.

There's ceiling fans. Will that work?

How successful have people been with getting Uber or Minnie Vans from AKL in the morning time frame. Planning a Thanksgiving 2018 trip and we've stayed Poly, VGF and BC the last few years but kids voted to try something different this time which is fine with us but want options for travel!

I was totally UNsuccessful in getting a Minnie Van the Saturday after Thanksgiving around 11 am. I requested four times and one never came. After close to an hour of trying, someone from valet finally got us a private hire van that was in the loading area.

A few days later we were able to get one from WL with no problems.

We have had issues getting a Minnie van at AKL; we have not had any issues getting a ride from Lyft or Uber while staying at AKL.

Maybe. We like it for the white noise. Maybe I'll try to find a good app for that. Sometimes When on vacation we will just stop at a Walmart and buy a cheap one that we lave behind it when we leave

I understand that they actually have box fans that you can borrow at many Disney resorts. But we use an app for our white noise.

Thanks. We had issues at BC one time too this last December. I keep debating on renting a car vs dealing with it all. I love AKL and my kids requested it over Poly/BC/WL this time around so we shall see.
