DVC Member's Cruise - July 23, 2018 - Castway Double Dip

We got in right around midnight. Booked dinner at Palo.
Yeah, it's weird. I was on at 10:55 CST (11:55 EST) and was refreshing often. At midnight EST, the "Book Now" link became active and I could get into the booking. However, anytime we tried to click on Port Adventures, Onboard Experiences, or Adult Dining, we'd get the 7 Dwarves looking at us with the "We're working on it" message (which, BTW, I am still getting today). I tried Chrome, Safari, as well as using my phone. None seemed to work. Finally, after about 50 minutes, I finally got in. However, about 10 minutes later, it was back to not working...

So, found out what the problem was. Did an online chat with DCL. Apparently, I had to clean out my cache and cookies. That fixed the issue. Just a note to others that may be having the issue...

Good tip.
I did that for my other WDW pages and they started to work a lot better. Note to self to do this when my booking window opens, though it appears I won't be getting a cabana or into Palo or Remy... LOL

We have only done things on the east coast while my son was in school, finished up in Dec. we are more about the entertainment and the cast member interaction than the destination. We hope to do a repositioning cruise in the future.
Well there has always been lots of great entertainment and cast member interaction on the Member Cruises! :thumbsup2

We have done one previous member cruise and are very excited for this one. Wish we knew the lineup before sailing

For the 2005 MC which was my first, they seemed to promise updates about what to expect, but they never really followed through. I think we got two newsletters of sort, then nothing. I wish they had better communication before hand!

On the Alaska Member Cruise, Ken Potrock gave out the agenda at the sail-away party.

FE Notification Question

To all FE participants:

We are now at 15 cabins for the DIS FE group. I was thinking that we would split into multiple groups at 16. Before we do this, could you let me know if you would want to be in multiple groups (I have heard from a couple of you on this already).

Basically, if you are in multiple groups, you would exchange with all members of the groups you are in. However, if there are others in both groups, you would only still need to exchange with them once. If you are only in a single group, you would just exchange with those in that group.

Last, what to call the groups? I like to use fun names for the groups, so I am open to suggestions. For our SWDAS cruise last year, we had a "Hoth" and a "Tatooine" group. I was thinking that for this cruise, since it's a DVC member cruise, we could use some of the properties or terms specific to the DVC program. I was thinking for 2 groups, we could use something like Shadow (after the HHI mascot) and Sea Turtle (after VB) groups. (Disclaimer: I know these may not be the best, so I am open to ideas if you want to name the groups!)
Sorry for the delay in replying. I was out of town and didn't have my password with me. Oops!

We'd like to be part of one group and the April 30th cut off sounds fine to me.

For at least 3 Member Cruises now, a special Disney Files has been handed out on board with great overview of what the presentations will be about. This may have been mentioned earlier in this thread, but since recently we’ve been talking about experiences that will be available, something like this could very well be in our cabins, and if so, it is not just an ordinary Disney Files, be sure to read it.

I’m intrigued...:ssst: thanks for the tip!

@bobbiwoz, you have inspired me again! I had forgotten we had all of that stuff!

Here was our Disney Files!

And looking for that, I found a few other things...

First, our DVC MC Lithograph:

And here are the menus from each night. We had special DVC MC menus that we were allowed to keep (Sorry about my toes in this one...)

OK. I'll get working on splitting the groups in two. I am going to think on group names tonight...

For the record, we would want to be in both groups...

Also, is anyone else planning to run the Castaway Cay 5k? I believe that we will only have this on day 1 at CC, but I am not 100% sure on that...

Ok, I'm bored today.

We live in Florida, but are transplants like 50% of the residents. I am from Indy, and my wife the Windy City. Any others from there?
