DETAILS Released for rumored NEW SOUTHWEST card:
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/rumor-chase-will-launch-premium-southwest-card/

- $150 annual fee
- 70,000 point signup bonus (no mention of spend required)
- possible A1-A15 boarding upgrade (I really wonder about this one though - Southwest may be underestimating just how many of their flyers could potentially have this card)

I hope I can get this even though I have the plus and the premier and it would be great if it wasn’t 5/24 restricted.

We are expecting this to be under 5/24 (sorry #1) and also require you to not currently hold a SW personal card (sorry #2) and not have earned a signup bonus in the past 24 months on any SW personal card (potential sorry #3) :(

EDIT: I’m honestly pretty shocked at that low of an AF. I eat my words from the other day...but it also isn’t much of a premium card if you ask me. (I interpet that to mean high AF and some premium benefits like travel reimbursements, TsaPre, etc.). That won’t stop me from wanting to apply though ;) haha!

I can deal with $150 AF. last year I paid $99 and $69 for the 2 SW cards to get the CP. Wondering what the anniversary bonus points will be.

Your #3 will not allow me to get it....hoping that is not the case.

Just spent my afternoon changing our June vacation plans from Mexico to Punta Cana since DH decided Mexico is too risky right now. The bad news the flight required more points and taxes. Luckily, I had SW points available since we fly them nonstop from BWI. The good news the resort is a $1000 less so it totally offset the bad news.

I was on Ebags and using a combo of last year's Ebags gift cards offer from Chase Pay, accumulated Ebags points, AA shopping portal bonus and the Amex offer for 1500 MR points at Ebags. I managed to trigger the offer without buying yet more packing cubes which was miracle in and of itself. Then I got the email that I used my Amex offer. If this comes to fruition it would truly be a miracle. Somehow, I doubt it.

I just edited that to clarify any SW personal card. Not sure if that changes things for you but a Biz card supposedly would not be a problem.

I got both SW personal cards in 2017 to get the CP. I have already cancelled one and will cancel the other when my anniversary points hit my account this fall.
If I can't get the new card my DH can. But I would like the CP since I sometimes fly with DS.

Well I was just inputting the last couple days charges from DH's CSR into YNAB and see that he spent $500 on Ticketmaster on his card. :headache: Meanwhile I am trying to meet MSR on the spg biz.:badpc::sad2::crazy2:

Maybe he at least used a shopping portal? Trying to find some bright side for you.

Interesting news. I could get it in June if I cancel my premier, which I hate to do since I have had it a long time, but whatever.
I think I will wait til late year so I can combine with biz for a cp 2019. I agree with you about a1-15 boarding though. Probably just the cardholder I assume. Not everyone he/she bought tix with on the card...which makes it moot for families.

Yeah right...in my dreams.

That would get me to use the offer! I don't need anything, I bought the suitcase I needed last month at TJ Maxx and have enough packing cubes from Ikea.

I’m definitely interested for DH. If he got the CIP this June, how likely would it be that he’s approved for the SW Biz at the end of the year? I really want to get the CP again.

I must be missing something - I don't see why this is a "premium" per se. There has to be something else included that DoC doesn't know yet.

This is another Chase card I won't be able to get. Sigh.

Perhaps this is as premium as it gets for us cattle call loving SW fans (I count myself as one of them, lol!)

At $150 AF I'm not sure they can offer much more here to make this "premium". As somebody earlier said...the real questions is will there be anniversary points?? Nothing has been said on that front yet...if there aren't any then this could be a DUD compared to the current cards beyond the signup bonus. As you said...it feels like we are missing something here still :).

I personally think 6 months between business apps is a good gap. But mind DH’s credit lines and whether you might want to preemptively reduce their amount to potentially increase his odds of automatic approval if you don’t want to be calling in for recon.

10,000 anniversary points would be decent considering we get 6000 with the $99 card. 12,000 would maken the deal nicer.
