I love credit cards so much!

Would I sleep in a cargo hold? Yep! I may have drooled a little before I remembered to shut my trap :) Not as nice as a suite but I like the option.
I honestly think the only way I'm getting hubby excited to venture somewhere across an ocean again is lie-flat seats at minimum; something like this or a suite would make it even easier. He's had not awesome experiences on his few transatlantic journey's so I think that's made him hesitate a little on future plans. There's many places he'd love to see and still plans to see, but it hasn't been long enough to forget the pain that was the transportation there and back yet. So I've got a couple year to save up points for somewhere and just hope the points are actually worth anything by the time we get there

I'm attempting to catch up, about halfway now...

$3.10. I had to do the math, lol. I still have VGCs from the Staples $20 rebate deal months ago. I used some of the balance to pay for DD's spring soccer fee (since it was a round $ amount) but I don't want to end up with random cents left on cards and have a hard time using them up. And now I'm working on that $7K MSR so every cent is getting charged to my SPG Biz.
I just wanted to add, that I haven't had a problem using up the last random dollars and cents on VGCs in years. I remember at one time you had to know the exact balance and run the GCs for that, but now it seems every system can figure it out itself. I usually use mine at the grocery store.

Yes. It definitely exists. Albertsons owns Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Randall’s, Tom Thumb, United Supermarkets, Acme, Shaw’s, Star Market, Carr’s, Haggen and I’m sure I’m forgetting another one or two.
Oh man, I thought Safeway bought Albertson's because the Albertson's by me became a Safeway :)

@imbatman @brownhaired_girl
I had no issues making a payment to Toyota with a Chase card. AMEX wouldn't let me as-is, and I never bothered to try a work around.

. . . and just want to add . . . was having so much fun I totally forgot to check-in for my SW flight home! 3 hours later when I finally remembered, I was assigned a boarding number of C42, so naturally none of us got to sit together. I both love Southwest and hate Southwest!
I was so proud the other night, we were lined up for the World of Color Dessert Party and I had set my alarm to check in... I got A34 and A41 for us! I can't remember the last time I boarded in A, minus our last trip where we paid the $40 upgrade at the gate :crazy2: Then when it came time to board last night, they told us there were only 68 passengers on our 144 seat plane.

Yes, for the most part the banners have been kept separate, but in a few geographies where there was overlap between Albertsons and Safeway and where Safeway had the better reputation, some Albertsons stores were re-branded to Safeway.

Did anyone pay taxes with Plastiq? This was supposed to have been done 2 weeks ago, but someone (not me) has been procrastinating, we've never waited this long. I went through the steps with Plastiq and it wants to send my payment to my local office, but the IRS website says I should be sending to NC. What to do? This is not what I want to be doing today. I want to pay via Plastiq with my CIP and I'm going to get irritated and end up just writing a check because I can't seem to find answers.

I would just plug in manually on plastiq the address that the IRS directed you to send your payment to.

I bought 2-$50 VGCs at the grocery store to use for gas purchases. DH used $10 from one, then I tried to use the rest at another gas station. It was declined with 3 attempts. I looked on the VGC website and it looks like the gas station tries to preauthorize $100 which obviously won’t work when the balance is $40. Any way around this?

It should work if you go inside and pay with a set amount.

We were traveling with a friend, and found a nice little one bedroom apartment with a giant fold out couch. It wasn't anything luxurious, but you couldn't beat the location and the owner was very helpful. She had an arrangement with a coffee shop a few doors down to hold onto the keys for each new renter so she wouldn't need to be present when we arrived. She even provided a local cell phone in case we didn't have an international plan. It worked out really well for us. On a side note, we traveled down to Brighton for the first time, and absolutely fell in love with it. I would take a trip solely to stay there again and never even bother with London. Have you been there? Add it to your list, if not.
I haven't been to Brighton, but I actually have friends who live there now so have tentative plans to spend a couple nights there at the end of a trip to London. It looks fun and a couple days at the beach sounds relaxing after the busy city. I also want to visit Bath; DW and I took a bus tour from London that went to Windsor, Stonehenge, and Bath. We only had a little bit of time to see the Roman Baths & walk around that immediate area before we had to be back on the bus, and ever since we've said we want to spend more time there. I think with the kids we would just do it as a day trip from London though, so we don't have to change hotels/schlep our luggage around as much.

What @speedyfishy said :) Can't use it at the pump directly. Found that out couple years ago on our drive down to Disney. We used to use them at the pump but at some point they started using $75-$100 holds at the pumps (instead of the .01 - $20 I used to see before). So our $100 GC's would get held for $100 and we had to wait until the hold fell off.

I'm extremely jealous of your friends. We were off the train for 10 minutes and were already trying to figure out how we could move there. :thumbsup2

To bring myself back on topic, I just met some of my MSR on the IHG by finally finding someone who was selling a ticket to the West Wing Weekly Podcast live event in NYC in a couple weeks. I've been following the podcast from day one, and rewatching an episode of TWW each week right before each pod episode drops. I'm usually a rock star at getting tickets for events, but this one somehow got past me and sold out in half an hour. And when they announced Aaron Sorkin was the special guest I was extra bummed that I missed out. Resale tickets were going for hundreds of dollars. I ended up finding two separate people on the podcast FB group with single tickets who were actually selling them at face value, so I got one for each of us, paying one with Venmo and the other with PayPal using the IHG. DH liked TWW but doesn't listen to the podcast, so he's getting the balcony seat while I sit 6th row center. I'm SO EXCITED!!!

I would pay through one of the third party websites that have a lower fee than Plastiq. Pay1040 . com only charges 1.87% in fees.

ETA: Nvm, I see you're trying to get the 3x on CIP thru Plastiq. Still, for anyone else looking to put taxes for MSRs, that's a less expensive way to go vs 2.5% on Plastiq.

The post I looked at on asthejoeflies said WDW packages only. Did you see a way for tickets only?
Yes, I was able to get a quote for tickets only by calling the "cruise and tours" department. In the end, I went with Chase because the Chase Sapphire Reserve gave me 1.5 cents for my dollar compared to 1.25 using Citi premier.

But pay1040 doesn't earn 3x on CIP.

could pay the extra .1% and max out your freedom card.

I have some FFDs and I don't Freedom yet. Fee wise came out the same I think using my FFD and Pay1040 so I wanted (and really need) the extra points I would get with CIP through Plastiq. Does it really matter? It's going to get where it needs to be eventually right? If I let Plastiq send to Austin, it'll be 3 days. If I use the NC address, it won't be received until the 20th. Ugh.
