Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

HELP!

This is a serious, not sarcastic question. Wish I could say asking for a friend since t his has been answered for me before.

Can someone explain Speedway/Safeway to me.

Which one is the gas station over by Boardwalk, formerly Hess, where it is recommended that you bring over a rolling suitcase to transport your cases of beer/soda? How are prices? Do they have a delivery service? Speedway, right?

Safeway is a grocery store? With a location in Orlando that (used to) deliver to Disney resorts.

Speedway is the gas station by the boardwalk, I have never heard of them delivering anything. I can not say to much about safeway since each region of that parent company is a little different, but the parent company child store in the chicagoland area has started a delivery service so no idea if that is rolling out down here yet.

Can anyone tell me-in regards to the Ale and Compass Restaurant-At breakfast is the bar open?Wanting to get Bloody Mary ,but not wanting to eat a big breakfast.

:welcome: to the thread!

When/where is your trip.

I have a friend staying there now and going to Ale & Compass for breakfast every day. I'll see if we can find out.

Did you see the menu I posted a couple of pages back. Had some adult drinks listed at the bottom of the menu.

::yes::

I'm getting commercials on TV at home for getting delivery from Target through Shipt, but when I checked the website it's not available in my area yet.

I plugged in the Beach Club zip code of 32830 and it says try 2 weeks free. Delivery in your area from ABC Fine Wines & Spirits, Publix and Winn Dixie.

Thanks, yes saw the menus-Bloody Mary looks great-also read a blog about them and they looked delicious-just don't really want to sit down for breakfast.I would appreciate any info from your friend. My trip is September 9-12 - staying at Boardwalk Villas

Target bought Shipt.com late last year to streamline their delivery systems for same-day delivery of items and groceries. All in an attempt to compete with Amazon.

Looking into other options now as we had 2 orders coming up. Instacart supports Publix, Winn Dixie and Target. Shipt.com is a ongoing fee, and not available in my area yet. Chatting online with them, was told it is free for 2 weeks and then you cancel.

Walmart also is delivering. One poster submitted their review in another thread. Seems it went ok but plane was late and that caused a problem.

Hi Everyone!

I'm thinking about booking Yacht Club for an upcoming trip so I can check out Stormalong Bay. I tend to stay at the JW Marriott which has an incredible pool area along with a large lazy river but I was looking at the map and it looks like it's just a small loop that you go around under a few bridges. I know maps can be deceiving, but I just wanted to ask anyway.

Thanks

If you're accustomed to a place like the Marriott, Four Seasons, etc, a Disney deluxe is going to be very different. Not better or worse, just different. What you'll give up in accommodations and amenities is replaced by location. IMO, the pool area at Four Seasons is the best anywhere in or around Disney. SAB is really, really, nice. I would say it's more for the kids. If you are able to visit the resort and check it out for yourself before committing to staying there, that could be really helpful to you.

Hi all, Happy Fourth. :)

My wife booked a BC club level water view room, and requested a King Bed. Does that combination even exist? Do the club rooms have a greater chance of a full balcony, or is it still hit or miss? We stayed at the BC years back (before the refurb), but in one of the Deluxe rooms so it was very different. Any other room tips for this category?

Thanks!

Updated! Please take a moment to see if I have your information listed correctly. Let me know if you have any changes or additions to your trip listing.

Post 15: Be Our Guest List

:goodvibes

Hi there. We (just myself and DH) are staying at YC for one night (4th August) as part of a split stay.

Very excited because with our horrible exchange rate I thought we were priced out of on-site, but with a special the other week we were able to change to onsite for our whole stay.

I’ve been reading this thread for all the great info you all put up. Thanks!

Has anyone been able to book a room at Yacht Club for June 2019? Both we and a travel agent weren't able to find availability.

Dee, could you add us to the Be Our Guest list for June 14-23, 2019 at beach club?

Thanks!

I've stayed at other deluxe resorts in the past so I'm aware that they often don't match up to the elite hotel brands. You're absolutely right about it being more of a location classification over anything. SAB does look nice and I like that they have several jacuzzi/whirlpools but I can see what you mean that it's designated more for kids. Thank you for recommending the Four Seasons as I just looked at their website and am now very interested in staying there in the near future.

I hope you have a wonderful visit and love YC as much as we do!

We were in AU/NZ in Feb 2017 and the exchange rate definitely worked in our favor. We’ll be visiting Sydney, Melbourne, and New Zealand again in early 2020!

Ale & Compass restaurant serves Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and Bellinis at breakfast so there’s no reason you can’t book a table and order just morning beverages! We’ve done that in the past at Trattoria - and Flying Fish when they were open for breakfast during the Trattoria refurb several years ago. They would even make the Bloody Marys to-go so we could enjoy them out on the Boardwalk. ;)
(not sure if A&C will accommodate to-go adult beverage orders)
