Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Well my pick would be AKL! It’s an amazing resort to begin with and even more incredible at Christmas time. You’ll get a similar tree at WL though and I would imagine the carolers and bell ringers too. So in that case, I’d say CR for the walkability to MVMCP. We just stayed in the garden wing and it was so super convenient. With only two nights/split stay and one night being a CP package, it doesn’t seem like you’d be able to make the most use of of CL.

I’d totally move things around and add Disney days for NPH if I could too. Outstanding!
As much as I'd like to stay at CL YC I'm honestly afraid we'd be disappointed in CL WL food offerings! I want to end with a high point. Contemporary is actually the cheapest offering! However I've always said if I were to stay at AKL, it would have to be a Savannah view.....

I don't think you will be disappointed at the WL CL - we really enjoyed it. It was before the reburb but the food offerings were good. We really liked the WL a lot. You can't go wrong with any of the hotels you have to pick from - they are all good. We are staying at the AKL this summer and can't wait. Enjoy wherever you decide to stay.

I know, right? LAST time we stayed at WL was 1997! It was December then, too! Love this place with the Christmas decorations! I was just saying that from what I've read, the WL CL offerings seem a little less than some of the other CL offerings. Clearly the WL is an awesome resort otherwise!

Going to get on @focusondisney's bad side for giving some praise to YC CL, but wanted to share a bit about our experience while thoughts are fresh. Apologies in advance, going to photo bomb the thread here.

We (family of four, kids 8 and 3) were at Poly CL last week, then moved over to YC CL for one night. We had never been to YC CL before, so it was an entirely new experience.

Maybe we just really enjoyed the change of scene after several days at Poly, but we left saying we will absolutely be back. Everything about the setup, the location, the rooms, the lounge style, etc definitely worked for our style. Obviously one day isn't enough to see a whole "body of work" for any given CL, but we were definitely impressed.

Given comments around the DIS sometimes I have always wondered if YC as a resort and YC CL would be a good fit with young ones - but those concerns quickly dissipated.

CMs seemed very professional and personable, but not over the top in your face - it was a great balance.

So the CL floor is the fifth floor (the top floor) - see below. The lounge and CL Desk area in the image is not exactly drawn quite to scale, but you get a general sense of the layout. Our room was 5223 which is a Water View room (in red). Walking time to the lounge was about 1 minute, 10 seconds and was 115 steps. No complaints there.

I don't know what I think about hard surface floors in hotel rooms and I'm still not sure.... but coming from Poly this feels nice, crisp, and clean. The room sizes are obviously smaller here than the monorail resorts, but they use space efficiently, in my opinion.

I didn't get a pic of the shower - but it's a shower, no tub. Dual shower heads, one is the "rain" style. Felt a lot more elegant than a typical Disney resort bathroom. Not a great room if you actually need a tub, like for kids baths - but fortunately we're mostly past that stage.

Toiletries...

Keurigs here with Joffrey's pods.

Fancy looking clear-front fridge.

Robes and slippers...
IMG_3406.jpg

These maybe look worse in the pics than they do in person since I'm down low with the camera, but the floors in this particular room were showing a bit of noticeable wear already. That's probably not the best sign for a room that's not that old.

I know I’ve seen earlier comments about this but...

WHAT is with the teeny tiny plated apps? At Poly CL tonight and, for example, there are tiny plates with one single bite of pork and tiny plates with the smallest amount of stir fry that there’s one miniature bite of beef per plate. If you can call it a bite. And the poor chef/server is going crazy keeping up with making all these single tiny plates.

And yeah, pretty much nothing picky kid-friendly here to make a meal with. All the kids I’ve seen have been getting plates of bread and butter and cheese and crackers.

Also, guys, please don’t force feed your children something they don’t like or they might puke right here in the club level lounge. This just happened. Felt so bad for the kid.
Agreed! The plates were very tiny bites. We just got home yesterday and while we were there, they ran out of some of the food at least two nights.

Sunrise this AM.....

Straight ahead view...

View left. You do have some rather ugly roof in your view from these rooms.
IMG_3360.jpg

View right....
IMG_3367.jpg

Looking down. I did notice a bit of "exhaust fan" noise when on the balcony, but nothing really complaint worthy - just not quite perfect with an otherwise pretty darn good view.
IMG_3365.jpg

But your eye doesn't really focus on the roof with this in most of the view area....

A look around the lounge...

Just outside in the hallway.....
IMG_3376.jpg

There are two doors into the lounge. The one on the left was open all the time, the one on the right closes between services - the food area is behind that door. This pic was taken around 12:45AM.
IMG_3377.jpg

This candy seemed to be out all/most of the day. Trouble!
IMG_3379.jpg

After a week at Poly - those LARGE PLATES there on the shelf were a very welcome sight!
IMG_3386.jpg

Food serving area....kids TV is there behind that counter - you can see the small chairs. This lounge also has outdoor space with I think three tables. So nice to actually be able to dine outside if so inclined.
IMG_3387.jpg

IMG_3396.jpg

I think this may be new. Ice cream available all day. Again, more trouble.
IMG_3403.jpg

CL CM desks. These are pretty much right off the elevator. I personally like the CLs where you pass the CL desks during your daily comings/goings like this. It seems more personable and you can take a moment to chat with the CMs, if so inclined.
IMG_3578.jpg

Somewhat strange back "nook" in the lounge. There's a TV and two comfy chairs in there (hard to see).
IMG_3627.jpg

This is what you'll see up between services and overnight blocking the "service" side of the lounge.

Beverages...
IMG_3382.jpg

Wine list. Lots of options. I don't have pics of the beer but it was Stella, Kona Longboard (why?), Bud Light, and maybe one or two more?? Didn't listen much past Stella. :-)

IMG_3573.jpg

Dessert cordials.
IMG_3575.jpg

Actual chilled wine (ahem... Poly)....
IMG_3576.jpg

This pic was around 12:45AM this morning... sodas in the fridge available overnight. Looks like Coke, Diet Coke, Ginger Ale, and Sprite.
IMG_3631.jpg

Evening apps last night. Obviously all of this stuff is very subjective and I'm sure not every night is a home run, but this is some of the best lounge food you'll find, in my opinion - both in quantity and quality.

IMG_3410.jpg

IMG_3412.jpg

Ok, can't all be winners. The Mac & Cheese was extremely runny... but the kids didn't seem to care.
IMG_3415.jpg

After nightly Uncrustables at Poly for a week, these were a welcome sight (both the apple slices and make your own PBJ).
IMG_3417.jpg

Some pretty flavorful cheeses here if that's your thing....
IMG_3420.jpg

Really enjoyed everything on the plate. The potato salad is some of the best we've ever had.
IMG_3424.jpg

IMG_3426.jpg

Last post... desserts...quite abundant here.

Panna Cotta and No Bake Cheesecake....
IMG_3562.jpg

Design your own cupcake...
IMG_3563.jpg

Chocolate chip, Sugar, and Oatmeal cookies....
IMG_3564.jpg

Hot Mini Dutch Apple Pie. Put this in a bowl with some of that vanilla Edy's ice cream and you have yourself a nice treat!
IMG_3566.jpg

Cheeses still out....

So that's it - had a great <24 hour YC CL stay. Those who have seen my posts over time know we're mostly a MK-centric family and we've spent most of our Disney travel time at the MK resorts. Our experience here really has us re-thinking that strategy. Storm Along Bay is a pretty awesome pool now that both of our kids are decent swimmers. The larger pool facility, abundant seating, and actual real pool-side service were really nice.

After evening apps we popped into Epcot.... got a Soarin FP, rode Journey into the Imagination, rode Nemo, took a lap around World Showcase, and watched Illuminations. Sometimes the best Disney nights are the unplanned ones, and we had the good fortune (and cooperating weather) to have one last night. I know walkability to Epcot is an obvious benefit of the Epcot resorts, but not going to lie, it was really nice!

Anyway, thanks for following along - happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for the photos, it’s so interesting to see how unique each of the CL offerings are and how they mesh with each resort’s theme overall! From your pictures, YC seems very elegant and refined with regards to their food and drink. Glad you enjoyed, that one is our bucket list for sure (if we can ever tear away from AKL)!

And no, you really can’t beat being able to walk to to parks...

OY, my husband and I are checking into the YC in about a week for our anniversary and I have been thinking about upgrading to CL, it looks fantastic from your pictures. Decisions decisions.

I do have to say that although the service was excellent and the WL CL has some outstanding features I didn't see at AKL, the food offerings at most times were not really that elaborate, esp. at snack and dessert. At the night appetizer part there were good selections however, but just know that they focus on fish there. AKL had better snacks and dessert, but missed on other parts. WL has IPA on tap, and a fridge with unique beers, I'm guessing to the Pacific Northwest. They also put out the trailmix baggies. But just get used to seeing the same mini cupcakes and cookies at snack and dessert in some variation, and at dessert will be one other kind which will be in some kind of a glass thing. Another plus is WL has the mini disani water bottles to grab on your way out to a park.

I overheard someone ask if they could get Coke Zero for them and the answer was “ yes”. It might not hurt to ask if it could be done for you also.

WL has it in their fridge, so it should be available elsewhere??

Hubby isnt a huge fish eater but that's ok as we only have a few days where we will even be at WL during appetizer time anyway....... the IPA on tap, however, will make him very happy! Thank you for your thoughts!
