DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Okay, is it me or is the method to invite someone to mydisneyexperience absolutely bass ackwards?

Instead of an invite someone else to join you button (logical), you have to add a person manually and then there's a little button that says invite them.

Sorry, as an IT person and having done some web design, this is a$$inine.

Thank you, sir. We had a great time. It's just never long enough.

Thanks, Dan. But you know as well as I do the brownie points never last.

Scoring System:
Bring home flowers for wife = 1 brownie point.
Take wife on big 20th anniversary getaway = 1 brownie point.

Leave toilet seat up = -1,000 brownie points.
Watch game instead of taking out trash = -1,000,000 brownie points.

The system is rigged!

First, welcome back Mark. Hope y'all had a great time.

Second...that is EXACTLY how the points system works, but you forgot the most prevalent one...
Say something innocuous, but it's taken the wrong way by wife = -15 billion (didn't want to type that many 0s) points

I think my points deficit is close to the national debt.

'Morning all...
Trying to get ahead at work in preparation for taking a spot of time off...
(kind'a defeats the intended purpose of vacationing)

Think I steal a bit of time and talk to y'all anyway.
(not that I'd be listening f I were any of you.)

I've never turned on the tap in my house and not have water come out. It does make me appreciate what I have even more.
Appreciation of our gifts is always a good (and often sobering) notion.

Oddly, I've been in situations without water on a number of occasions.
Lived in a house with a well when I was young and had the pump go out. A bit later on the check valve failed (that took a while to get repaired). Now-a-days it's more similar to the problem y'all encountered. The water mains in town are very old and we end up having to make repairs that shut the whole town down three or four times a year. (Infrastructure maintenance requires public funding, but those two words are seen a profanity down this way.)

But enough of this, there's James Brown in a Reverend outfit to watch.....
that can make a lot of things better
(if only for a minute or two)

Cast came off yesterday, now in a boot with wedges, but off the crutches so, progress.
And that is a good thing.
May the healing continue and do so quickly.

Nope, I think we are holding our own in the "My great great great great great grandma got knocked up by Charles II, so I therefore lord over all aspects of life without achieving anything, milk the state with my moody tax schemes and drive round in state sponsored cars, whilst demonising people who are trying to earn for a living" stakes. Their sense of entitlement is as craven as it is galling. I don't know what's particularly kicked me off this week, but I am actually angry.
We don't have "titles" per say but don't think for a minute that we don't have a class structure.
Everything else in that description applies here just a fiercely.

easier to explain sports in this office than something like the Blues Brothers.
Demolition Derby!
That's a sport!

Happy Birthday Mr. Belding!
What he said.

Have a happy day, sir
(And I promise that I for one am not carrying a shiv at the moment)

The system is rigged!
And yet we still play the game.
(without even a second thought).

I think my points deficit is close to the national debt.
So, situation normal then.
You certainly ain't alone.

Happy birthday @RodBelding

Huh? What? Did you say something?

Appreciation of our gifts is always a good (and often sobering) notion.
One we often forget in this nation...how blessed we really are.

And yet we still play the game.

Yeah, well I'm not sure I want to play the game anymore and the deficit is so large, not sure it's worth trying at this point. Just tired.

Oh my, I’m out of it a few days and 80+ messages later...
Well I skimmed through and must give congrats to Dan and the Three Lions, and hope @pkondz enjoys vacation.

I had a little getaway myself this weekend. Went to visit a friend of mine who owns a summer house in a small town by the ocean...you would call it a village really. It was just myself and youngest DD, so a nice little getaway to spend time with her. It was a very nice spot. We sat on the balcony Saturday evening and watched whales breaching. Can't always do that while having a cup of tea.

For any of you who are survivor fans, the first time was Shambo at final tribal council.
I'm a Survivor fan for sure...I remember Shambo, but can't remember "feckless" at tribal council...I have heard that word before though.

I keep gallons of water at the house for emergencies. Plus, I can carry in the pool water to flush the tanks. I don't have showers figured out. But, there are others far less prepared.
I have to admit, I would be the "others far less prepared". But it's true that disaster could strike at any moment, I should really do better. I hope the water situation gets better for you...looks like a bad break..

I succeeded in ripping up a tire while driving into work this morning. (fun fact: it had only 300 miles on it)
Ouch...that sucks. Not much else one can say about it...

Cast came off yesterday, now in a boot with wedges, but off the crutches so, progress.
Good to hear there is progress. You'll be storming the castle in no time.

We also still have a tropical storm/hurricane moving up the coast but it is suppose to stay well south of where I am. They said that 4 years ago and we got nailed.
Well south of where you are...right in line for me. The track may still move it more offshore, but it could be an interesting Friday night, for the wrong reasons.

Good to hear Dan, you should be out running in no time.
Cheers buddy
The system is rigged!
But the prize when you win is AWESOME........
Happy Birthday Mr. Belding!
This. Happy Birthday Paul.

What a great movie.
And that is a good thing.
May the healing continue and do so quickly.
Thanks Rob
must give congrats to Dan and the Three Lions
Cheers fella, except that euphoria has been replaced by nerves again. 24 hrs. And we could be in a World Cup Final. Or not.

Here's hoping it misses....

Calzone and a pint of Peroni for lunch today, so not too bad. Settling in for the 1st semi final.......

I guess. We have no water at our house. Both my jobs don't have water. Local businesses are posting they are closing as well. I guess if you can't flush the carp, then it's time to close. Stores are open to sell the remaining water they have left.

Wow, that sucks, good that you were prepared. Have they given any updates?

I'm back from a quick getaway with the missus to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Glad the world didn't burn down in our absence.

Saw the pics, nice. What was the name of the wagon hotel?

I succeeded in ripping up a tire while driving into work this morning. (fun fact: it had only 300 miles on it)
That chewed up about four hours that I didn't really have to spare.
Yep... It's Monday everywhere.

Sorry man. Can we abolish Mondays?

Morning guys from a slightly overcast but now slightly more mobile London. Cast came off yesterday, now in a boot with wedges, but off the crutches so, progress. Done some chores and now just watching the Blues Brothers. With the amp up real high. The only way to watch it.

YEA, you are more mobile. Continue to heal so you won't hobble around as much when you are at the World.

Happy Birthday Mr. Belding!

Happy Birthday Paul.

Nice pics. Supper jealous of you just sitting outside watching the whales breach.

I saw that it was headed for your part of NL, stay safe my friend.

Was the village near St. John's? Looks like a great spot.

Watching World Cup today in waterless city. At least there aren't any riots. Also heard that Ronaldo is moving into Juventus. I can't believe he didn't come over to the USA and play in MLS. :lmao:

.

You've already had surgery and cast off, and my surgery isn't for two more weeks? Yeah America? What were we making great again? Let's not compare bills either. :furious:

Sorry, as an IT person and having done some web design, this is a$$inine.

If they only had access to a program like Facebook. :lmao:

Sadly, we spend so much in taxes, and spend so much of it on manager salaries. People want to argue too much is spent on military, welfare, social security, immigration, etc. But, if manager and politician salaries and benefits were withdrawn, then we would have lots more $ for that infrastructure.

I'm a Survivor fan for sure...I remember Shambo, but can't remember "feckless" at tribal council...I have heard that word before though.
.

I like Survivor as well, but would do bad on the show.

Wow, that sucks, good that you were prepared. Have they given any updates

.

Maybe after 6 PM today. Maybe.

Supposedly, both breaks have been repaired. Poured concrete earlier, and it should be dry enough by this evening to turn the water back on.

If they repaired the pipes shouldn't they be able to turn the water back on?

Sorry, I saw this earlier and meant to comment. Glad to hear the cast and crutches are gone. Halfway to freedom!

We all do that. Where to? Myrtle Beach?

Nice! Always cool to give the kids some individual time.

Saw the pics, nice. What was the name of the wagon hotel?

That was the Broken Spur Inn of Torrey, Utah. We didn't actually stay in the conestoga wagons (they called it "glamping"). I was just messing with people. The wife was surprisingly receptive to the idea, though.

Since you want her...ahem,...scoring system, then you gotta play by her rules.

Rigged, I tell you! Rigged!

Supposedly, both breaks have been repaired. Poured concrete earlier, and it should be dry enough by this evening to turn the water back on.

Let's hope it works out.

If they repaired the pipes shouldn't they be able to turn the water back on?

They need time for the concrete to set. If any moisture gets into it while it's setting it could all fall apart again.

Some great #10s on display. Hazard & Mbappe.

.

I don't know. Let's ask Mark.

They need time for the concrete to set. If any moisture gets into it while it's setting it could all fall apart again.

There's that engineering. If only you could figure out that scoring system. :lmao:

Interesting 1st half.

You sound like you are an authority on this. Oh wait, you are.

Anyone stayed at the Don Cesar in St Petes?

Yea, but it isn't going to help you. It was in the late 90's. Don't remember the amenities which I am sure were updated many times since then. Do remember the staff was attentive and friendly.

Some great #10s on display. Hazard & Mbappe.

True.

There's that engineering. If only you could figure out that scoring system. :lmao:

Good one.

We all do that. Where to? Myrtle Beach?
Seattle
Well... Kingston, WA actually (on the peninsula) .
I have close kin out that way and seeing them is the main purpose for the outing, but we'll poke around the area a bit while we're there.

That system is far beyond the capabilities of engineering
Heck, it's beyond the capabilities of Theoretical Physics, Neurosciences or even philosophy...

TERRIBLE NO CALL.

Agree. But, this has been a game/ tournament of set plays. Sorry CJ, your super team is out.

Should I cheer for Croatia since they have never won it, or not in that Volkswagon World Cup commercial?

Should I cheer for England, to make Dan have to suffer between cheering for the Lions or the Spurs?

Should I cheer for France because they have the grey goose/ grand mariner slush at Epcot? Winner.
