I agree with this comment.
Let's pick on Poly CL a second. Probably the poster child CL for high-carb and/or fried food offerings when we first stayed there 2013ish. Hardly a protein available at breakfast, no hard-boiled eggs... used to drive me nuts. Evening apps were often mass produced potstickers, sticky wings, meatballs, etc, etc. The cheese and cracker tray was the dominant fixture every night.
These days, plenty of protein available at breakfast.
Truly, if CL menus have recently become more healthy that is good news.
I still wholeheartedly maintain that say that too many WDW QS menus still follow a rather dated fast food model. Bacon cheeseburgers are still very prevalent.
Why can't WDW do the reverse? Why not offer a place like Satu'li in every theme park? (By that I mean a place where healthy options are more the focus than an afterthought?)
Doesn't this sound exciting?
"A large, urban-inspired food hall called
Urban Pantry, featuring “diverse flavors, fresh ingredients, and globally-inspired dishes" across four stations:
1. Roast Station: a selection of organic entries (lamb, chicken, salmon, and paella), served w/choice of quinoa, couscous, spinach, and seasonal veggies (think: rainbow carrots).
2. Pizza- with your choice of gourmet/healthy toppings: think fresh baby tomato, fresh greens, shaved parmesan, smoked salmon and other freshly prepared meats as options.
3. Wok - hearty, healthy bowl of fresh ingredients: choose style (wok or ramen soup), protein (tofu, chicken, shrimp, etc.), and your choice of veggies (baby corn, sugar snap peas, broccoli, etc.) Plus sushi and tuna poke.
4. (Admittedly, the 4th station sadly has bacon cheeseburgers w/fries, but it is only one option amongst 3 healthier stations, and it will also offer Fresh Florida Grouper and veggies burgers)
