I love credit cards so much!

Our PO is 20 minutes away without traffic. We have a Pak Mail and UPS store that both offer USPS dropoffs, so I have been using them instead of making the trek to the PO. Definitely more convenient!
We have a place called Post net by us now that takes all carriers. We just happened to be stopping somewhere by the actual post office

I've been reading but not chiming in.

The Wave, which is in the Contemp - (at least I think you said BLT is their hotel?), has a breakfast buffet or table service, whichever you prefer. I've been there maybe 10 times for breakfast and I am always pleased with it. Low key and relaxing and not busy when I'm there usually on departure day. The only negative is the darker atmosphere but I've gotten used to that. No characters. Decent food choices. And walking distance very close to their rooms.
I love their breakfast too. The BEST grits I have ever eaten. And I have eaten ALOT of grits!

Oh we're having fun for sure. But I don't have the same tolerance for crowds anymore!

I've eaten so many good, fattening things I feel like a beached whale. And so many adult drinks.

I will say this is probably my last October trip. We like late January for many reasons.

I am going late Jan to move DD19 into her DCP place. We will do the parks for a couple days too. And youngest DD will come along for the fun. I've never been that time of year. Hoping it isn't busy!!

Back from my work conference in Nashville. Trying to get caught up here.

From my trip, I should get my stay points, plus 1500 for no housekeeping for 3 nights (have no problem with making my own bed!), plus there was another bonus of 2000 points for a stay during a promotion. I used the CSR for the one night I had to pay for since my AMEX offer on the SPG biz card excluded Westin. It will go toward MSR and will be wiped out by the travel credit.

Saw the update on the Marriott game for points. I had stopped after the first day but just played again. 50 more points which are better than nothing (barely).

Still trying to get DH approved for SPG Biz. Keep getting the dreaded pop up of not eligible for the welcome bonus. Thinking of using his Hilton Biz (only AMEX he has) exclusively for the next two weeks and applying again prior to 10/31 and the 100K promotion ends. I did use his AMEX for a few purchases but apparently not enough.

Good news on my AA points. Barclays had already given DH his additional 10K points to match the most recent offer. I got mine this week! It was weird that they never responded to my SMs but with the next statement closing they gave both of us the additional 10K points.

Last year it was really nice - warm days (not hot) and low crowds! Cheap DVC points too if you own/want to rent. Rental car and flight prices are decent and that is a nice plus! I know many say it's too "cold" in January but I'm coming from Ohio where it is cold and miserable.

I did pack jeans and sweatshirts for the nighttime.

hit that quickly... i think BJ is currently having a 8% off Disney GCs right now.
Thanks for the Info. i called Chase to put a rush on my Chase Freedom, They said should be here in 2 days. Hopefully the 8% will still be available

We never check bags either and I've never had anyone ask to measure my carry-on. I just got out my tape measure and with the wheels mine are well over 21 inches!
thanks.... two of ours are 22" with the wheels.... I guess the worst thing that can happen is a gate check last minute....

Now I'm having ebay woes with the post office. Yesterday I dropped some packages off... they lectured me because the date on the postage labels were from Saturday/Monday, and over the zip code.

... Googling indicates I may have grumpy postal workers.

Pretty much. I can kinda get the date on a Priority package but they're only responsible for the "guarantee" from when they get the package so it's still kinda dumb. But I think there is something out there that it's supposed to be within X days of that date on the label. There are many zip codes that exist that may not have a PO still. But the only time shipping from a different zip code than the one printed matters is...

I think the only time time zip code matters is when you get into the regional/zone pricing of shipments. Unless your zip code is a zone away from the next town over, it shouldn't matter...I wouldn't think.

^ this!! Things may have changed recently, but I routinely shipped from different zip codes than my own - like different counties even. My local post office in my zip code is not convenient, I frequently would mail my stuff from work which was 25+ miles away, in a different county, and completely different zip code. But we're all in the same zone so it costs exactly the same shipping from work's PO as my PO. I shook my head every time I'm mailing stuff from work back to the town < 5 miles away from me but it is what it is. I figure I'm getting my money's worth this way :)

If it's more expensive, they'd make you pay more postage but I'm sure if it was cheaper to ship from their office than what you prepaid they wouldn't be complaining ;)

It looks like your questions have been answered but I would just add (and hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong) that you can renew to the gold and then if you later decide you want to go during block out periods you can pay the difference and get the platinum; same expiration date but then go during blocked out periods. I keep going back and forth of what I am going to do but thinking now I will renew my platinum to the gold and then if they add block out dates in the fall and reassess. As stated above it sounds like Disney would be more than willing to take more of my money then.

I believe the Platinum Pass can be renewed as a Gold pass as well. That is if you have no trips in the block out period. And, if you are unsure, renew it as Gold and upgrade it later if you decide to go during blocked out days.

I'm trying to decide if renewal will benefit me....a way to stretch my stash of passes. I'm going on a trip that starts in Orlando on the 6th of January. My pass expires around the 15th of January and I'm tentatively planning another Florida trip during February which may have a few Disney days. Then I won't go back until Nov 2019. I guess I would have up to a month to make a decision, so don't have to decide right away. With my January to January planning I get three trips this pass.

It was my intention to use UR's to buy Disney passes for family at 1.5 using a CSR in a year or so. As we all know, that reduced itself to 1.0 if I do statement credit. I can still use some of the gift cards bought with my Freedom card at 5%, plus the UR's earned, so not a loss.

There was a time that I was looking at DVC for the AP benefits. I believe you can put up to 6 people on the deed. At that time I would have added my daughter and mother to allow their households the discounts. This was just before Disney decided resale deeds would not get the benifits. The current owners were grandfathered in but resale deeds no longer got the AP savings.
Thank you! We're going to renew that pass as a Platinum, because we already know it'll be used during one of the block out periods. I will definitely keep that in mind for future renewals though! I didn't consider the AP benefits when we looked into DVC, but I will say that it is a much appreciated perk!

See where these say From XXXXX? Between the weight and date at the top?

They told me that they can't ship any more if I don't put their zip code on there. Okay.... you are simply my closest/most convenient post office. Why does it matter that we have different zip codes? They're not that different... You're 10min from my house. Ebay's new label printing page doesn't give you an option to change that... the classic page does, but then when I bought the label and printed it, it still showed my zip and not the one I entered. :badpc: Googling indicates I may have grumpy postal workers.
Wow. I just have to give a plug for our local, the next town over and even Weis that is in PA and not MD. I drop a lot of packages off for DH for our eBay businesses and I have always had amazing service. Our PO workers are always super friendly and helpful. Joy frequently gives me compliments on what I am wearing.

Being from Wisconsin, I didn't think there was such a thing as a Packers and Bears Fan! I thought if you loved one, you had to hate the other:-)
Yeah my dad was from Wisconsin but after college moved to Chicago where he lived the rest of his life. So he was kinda half cheesehead half FIB. :rolleyes1
He would have friends or business associates give him Bears tix, so when in Rome I guess. But always a Packer fan at heart.

Where do you go that charges $12 for coffee?! Even with all the hipster coffee shops around here, I think the most I've ever spent on a cup of morning joe is a little over $6.

Buyin for a friend. Or random act of kindness for the guy in line behind you.

Got my Barclays AAviator Biz all setup today and it's ready for its one swipe - bring on 60k AA :D
No word from BoA about my Alaska Biz yet :( Getting a little worried here. Maybe I have too much income. :p Not since the days of paper applications have I waited this long to find out about a credit card. Almost tempted to call in... almost, not quite there yet.
