Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I'm booked in a YC CL Water View room, our first time at YC CL. This is the info I see:

Standard View Club Level= can sleep 5+
Garden/Courtyard View Club Level=
Lagoon View Club Level= can sleep 4+

which leads me to assume there are not many/any daybeds in the CL Water View rooms? I am willing to give up my view for the daybed. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to look at a dumpster (Lol) but we really need the daybed so my 2 teens can each have a bed.

Also assuming GV has some daybeds but not many, which is why it's blank/unknown for sure. This would also be true for our experience with BC CL where we usually had to book SV to have best chance at daybed.

Thanks!!

I'm booked at the YC for 4 nights next week. This will be my first solo trip so hoping it goes well :) I had an unused airline ticket I needed to use before it expired and also have a 5 day park hopper ticket left over from years ago we've never been able to use, (usually have gotten packages like for free dinning etc). I was very tempted to give Pop Century a try as it's so much cheaper and I don't really plan on table service too often and I hear the room renovations are very nice, but it's the ability to walk to Epcot and HS that won me over. I was afraid of getting tired and coming back to the resort for awhile to rest - if staying at Pop and the buses were crowded it might un motivate me from going back later to see fireworks or other shows. At YC, it's a simple walk. I'm pretty excited though a little nervous about taking my first solo trip.

I haven't done a truly solo trip, but I have had trips when I stayed with friends, but had lots of solo time at the parks and the resort. You are not wrong about how wonderful it is to be so close to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Even at the end of a long day, it is very simple to make the (at most) 10 minute walk to EP to watch Illuminations. I haven't seen the holiday ending to the show, but I hear it is wonderful. A solo trip with allow you to spend as much or as little time as you wish checking out the chocolate carousel at the Beach Club, the train display at the Yacht Club and all of the other wonderful decorations.

I love travelling with my family, but sometimes it is fun to go at your own pace, stopping and taking as many pictures as you want!

Have a magical trip!

:santa:

Friendship Boat to EPCOT, Service Ending at 9:30 pm nightly until late December due to Gondola construction:

I was on the boat to Epcot yesterday afternoon and they made the announcement that the boat would NOT be going to Epcot starting today. You can still walk to the IG.

I am staying at the Yacht Club currently and can confirm that the boat to Epcot is running. They said they were planning on closing it but are now just closing the boat service an hour earlier (9:30pm) working on the skylines during the night.

Thanks for the reply.

There was a post on another thread this morning, which had a link to a Disney announcement from today. The notice stated the FriendShip boats at EP currently cease service at EPCOT nightly, at 9:30, until late December.

Thank you all for these reports!

I have updated the post on Page 1 with the info about the Friendship boat service.

:thumbsup2

Thanks natebenma :)

Yep, I think I'll enjoy taking my time gandering over all the Christmas displays, window decorations and such. I know I'll miss my family, but I'm determined to do my best and appreciate some of things I miss being with a larger group.

We have a YC CL standard view room over Christmas. When doing online checkin it doesn’t give me any options for room location requests. Is there any request I should fax in or do I just get what I get? I’m really not picky but I guess ideally the only thing I’d put is close to the lounge. Is that even a possibility with standard view? Just want to make sure I’m not missing anything. Thanks!

As others have said, there are some CL SV rooms close to the lounge, so you can request that by calling Central Reservations and/or contacting Disney Signature Services.

I had you down for an anniversary trip in October. Did you change dates or is this another trip?

:cool1:

Oh happy day! I have been trying to return to my happy place since we last stayed at the BC/BCV in 2011, and now I can finally request to be added to the Be Our Guest list again.

:flower1:

We’ll be there October 20-26, 2019 in a 2 bedroom villa and I can’t wait!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

DH and I will be staying at BCV (cash stay) 1/30-2/2 before our SWDAS cruise! I've been dying to go to SAB so as long as it's warm enough to keep it open, I'll be in the lazy river!

My mini review: *snip*

Thank you for providing us with feedback about your trip.

::yes::

I'm so excited that we are coming to BCV! June 2-9. It's our first time renting DVC points. I'm hoping that DH falls in love with DVC and we just have to become members:rolleyes1

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list and cross my fingers that you have a spectacular trip.

:goodvibes

What is the difference between the Beach Club and Yacht club? We stayed at BC years ago and loved it, thought we would try something new. Major differences???

:welcome: to the thread!

shoreward gave you some good comparisons between the two resorts as well as suggestion to check out Page 1 (particularly, Post 1).

Please let us know if you book a stay here.

I'm not sure how many of the rooms in YC CL, especially since the renovation, but I believe you are correct that there are probably a higher percentage of daybeds in the standard view rooms.

I'll add you to the list for July.

I've searched and searched, and read all the relevant posts I can find, and I'm looking for some specific advice. We have a 2-night stay in a BCV "deluxe studio" that we booked through the disney website (not dvc, not renting points). These are "resort" days for us, and we plan on spending most of our time at the pool, weather permitting. Any suggestions for room request terms that would get us closer to SaB? (I know the building isn't particularly close to that pool, but I would prefer to not be alllll the way at the other end if possible.) OR, if it really won't make that much of a difference, are there rooms that have the corner 'wrap-around' balcony?

I hope it's okay to post other web site reviews, I thought this one was nice about the Christmas decorations at the Yacht Club :)

Can't wait to see in person!!
And, just an FYI, though I am new to this thread, my family and I have stayed at the Yacht Club 3 or so times before, we do love it :) Though, I will also say the last time was after the room renovations and I kinda miss all that beautiful blue. Ha ha I have to chuckle because when we first got to our room (after the renovation), I thought maybe the maid had forgotten the bedspread! Oh, and they used to have a beautiful blue and brass Mickey Lamp I think was also gone?
Regardless, I am very excited, less than a week!

So I booked a bounceback in October for Yacht Club next August. When I booked it, YC was the only deluxe that could sleep five that we could get (traveling with SIL and her family, which is a family of 5). I have to admit, YC doesn't seem very appealing to me. Has anyone stayed there and not been all that excited about it but found it was much better than they expected? The only part I'm really looking forward to is Stormalong Bay - and the refurbished rooms look nice too.

Where do you normally love to stay and why do you pick that resort?

I am not obsessed with the nautical theme, but between the walking distance to two of my favorite parks, newest deluxe rooms on property, and shared amenities with BC (including the pool you mentioned), there really is a lot to love at YC!

Yep! We stayed at YC last spring mainly so the kids could enjoy Stormalong Bay. We originally had a reservation for BC because it appeared to be more our style and is always billed as being more family-friendly. We switched to YC when discounts were released and we could get a significantly better price. We LOVED it! The complimentary upgrade from our reserved garden view to a water view certainly didn't hurt! We loved the refurbished rooms and, despite the whole yachting scene TOTALLY not being our thing, the decor was wonderful. My boys loved looking at all the boats in the lobby and a brief visit to the more crowded BC lobby confirmed that we made the right decision to switch!

I wasn’t able to get a bounce back for BWI so thought I’d give YC a try. YC is my new favorite and DD and I arrive for her first stay there in 12 days.

In the Beach Club, is there any sort of a door between the vanity/sink area and the rest of the room? Based on the pictures and videos I’ve looked at, I think the answer is no, but I am hoping I am wrong. Thanks!

Unfortunately not

Though the BC rooms do not have a divider, guests have been known to put up something like a temporary clothes line with suction cups, and then drape or attach a lightweight sheet, etc., as a privacy divider.

Got home on Saturday evening (along with a hitchhiking flu virus!!!) and am now feeling a bit better so thought I'd send along some photos of my room and balcony at Yacht Club. I was in room 5180 (club level - but 4th and 3rd floors should have the same type of balcony). As a big Beach Club lover, i really wasn't overwhelmed by the Yacht Club as some are, but often got up and out early and didn't return until late... which is probably why my tired old body came home with the flu! Anyway - you could hold a dance party on this balcony!! And, bonus, one night as I was sitting and enjoying the quiet, I happend upon the MK fireworks. Here are a couple of photos of the room and I'll put balcony pictures in a separate message
