Airmiles Shop the Block 2018 - BONUS MILES POSTING NOW

I still haven't received the airmilesshop bonus, or points actually. I shopped at Well.ca and did get those points posting already. It is one I will keep track of though, both because it's STB and because it annoys me.

I've done Shell, Children's Place, Global Petfood and Airmilesshop (which hasn't posted yet). I have Rexall, Miss Fresh and Metro still to do. I also did 25 transactions on my BMO MC, but there's no points on that so not sure how it will show up (fingers crossed it just works). That will be 8 though so hopefully the 2000 will post no problem and I'll just have to fight about the online purchase.

I have the 1 mile from The Bay posted in my account. Nothing else from the portal shopping weekend.

Chapters just emailed me and said my pop socket order is cancelled as it's out of stock. Well, why was it listed as "in stock" on your website? So glad I bought a $100 e Card then used that for my Chapters purchases! Now I have to try and find a pop socket before Christmas! Maybe Winners?

Hello! I’ve recently seen a lot of stock for pop sockets at Chapters in store. You may want to try one near you. They may be out of stock online but not in store. I bought from Claire’s the same brand that Chapters carries. Good luck!

ugh...I see how many people are nearly finished...I haven't even started. I will be trying the Shell fill up again tonight...this time, going inside to prepay with my coupon - lesson learned from last time. Hoping to sit down with the hubby tonight and do an amazon order as well. So that is 2 down. The dog will need more food - so I'll go to global for his food - it's on the other side of the city...and driving in this place with all the extra traffic of people here to do their xmas shopping is a freaking nightmare some nights. I'm hoping i can sneak in a safeway shop this weekend with the coupon as well. I'm working more extra hours at the second job...and honestly I'm exhausted. I don't want to shop and finding it hard to chase miles, plus xmas shop, and be the mom and find time for family things as well plus work 65+ hours a week. Sorry...rant over...whatever I accomplish is what I accomplish. I need to let go of the guilt and the " what can I do with those extra earned miles " and accept the number I can while having a fuller than normal plate this year.
OK! I've wearing my mama bear hat right now (because this is more serious than a Duck can be :P )

You need to take a step back and do a quick look at the math involved in this and decide if the return is worth the cost to your mental, physical AND family health. T
otal you could earn is 2000 miles which = $200 return if you collect all cash miles. How much extra are you putting out to actually get those miles? What is your time worth to you personally?? Can you afford the cost connected to making yourself too sick to do the things you NEED to do? If you are only able to complete 2 offers, fine, complete 3 even better, complete just the one you've already done .. also good.

Some suggestions to help (maybe):

  • Any Christmas gift you can include in a Staples order to possibly complete a coupon -- nice thing here is they do NOT use Canada Post to deliver so you won't add that worry to your plate!!
  • Are you able to justify picking up some stuff in your grocery shopping that you can just toss in the oven/microwave to heat up and then eat while watching mindless Hallmark Christmas movies or annoyingly chipper cartoons? My kids always thought this was a treat and i never told them it was a sanity saver for me <snicker>
  • Have you done the HBC conversion before? If not this will only take you max 5 minutes at a keyboard.
  • Give yourself permission to simply STOP chasing the miles. This is not an end-of-the-world situation.
  • Are you able to ask each person in your family what they consider a "must" for Christmas? You might be surprised to find that the things you feel need to be done won't be missed by anyone. Maybe the traditional Christmas morning breakfast that takes you far too long to create (and is often gobbled up in a zombie state) could be swapped out for Pillsbury Cinnamon Buns and (heavily laced) egg nog
NOW, most importantly, you need to find a way to put aside the "coulda/woulda/shoulda"s for the holiday and give yourself a bit of a break. Trust me, i know this isn't easy to do -- I'm convinced that part of that shot they give you after you give birth is a massive dose of guilt that magically expands as time goes by -- I have the scars and heartache to prove that! There will always be more promos that you can work when you have more time on your hands. We'll be here to help you when the next one rolls around and to cheer you on as you struggle with this one!

In store Chapters probably have them. Hot Topic sells some if you can stand to go in there :)

I've seen those darned things EVERYWHERE in the last week -- several dollar stores, Winners/Marshalls, Giant Tiger, end rack in one grocery store, Staples etc ... unless you're looking for a specific design you should be able to find one somewhere!

Ok I plan to use the Sobey’s STB coupon this weekend. Sobey’s also has an offer this week in the flyer for 150 airmiles when you buy a $150 gift card. So I plan to buy the $150 gift card for the 150 airmiles, then do my shop, use the gift card to pay, and use the STB coupon which will give me another 100 airmiles.
Hopefully I’ve thought this one through properly .. it’s early and I’m still working on my coffee. :surfweb:

Orrrr... I could maybe buy the $150 giftcard at Foodland and see if it counts to use the STB coupon there. If it does, that's 250 for buying a gift card. Then I go to Sobeys and spend the $100 needed for that STB coupon and get those 100 miles.
That would be 350 miles and two STB coupons down. This may be too good to be true.

While this sounds like a great idea I'm afraid it won't work. The fine print on the back of the StB coupon for Foodland -notice the highlighted parts. This is only my speculation, but your original plan of buying the card at Foodland and using it at Sobey's will work just fine, just won't let you get 2 coupons done

Thanks Donad I had just read that and was coming to update my post. Oh well. I can get the gift card, spend $100 at Sobey’s and use that STB coupon and then use the remaining amount on the giftcard toward the STB Spend $60 coupon at Foodland. 2 offers done, $150 in groceries and 220 miles plus any in store bonuses. I’ll take it :)!

I am planning to get the GC from Sobeys Urban Fresh (STB) then use it at Foodland (STB). You can double dip this way. I don’t think I can buy $100 worth of groceries at once so I would have to skip Sobeys STB.

Ugh, so my airmilesshop for over 100$ at amazon, well they shipped in 3 different packages, so I only got 4 AM. Which means it won't credit as one of the 100$ shops. Why oh why send everything individually???

My Rexall Shop the Block 20 miles just posted. Just says bonus miles and nothing about Shop the Block.
I have 60 bonus miles that posted about a week ago and I can’t figure out what they are for. I don’t see the 20 for my Rexall shop yet though.

Can someone confirm that I'm not missing something? Safeway has a spend $100, get 100AM coupon for StB starting tomorrow. The back doesn't say anything about GCs. It does say I can't combine it with other offers though. So does that mean I can buy a $100 CG to amazon and have that count?
