Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

This is my guess that they are doing some type of load testing there look like no one is riding it yet My guess is there will be more of these in the coming days/ weeks. So if anyone is down there keep your eye open and take pictures

They only have one cabin on site as of right now so it will be a while before anyone is riding.

We just got back from a great trip to WDW on Friday evening. I'm thinking that they may move the entrance or add a second entrance on the other side of the shop that is located at IG. The current area is pretty small to accommodate all the additional traffic that will be added due to the gondola's. At least that is what I'm hoping will happen. What do others think of this idea?

I think if there were plans for any significant change to the entrance they would have started it by now.

I don’t think there will be a ton of new traffic to the entrance as the gondolas are more continual (not like a “dump” of people from a bus) but the backup could be at security which will have to move and/or have security for those on the gondola be at Caribbean Beach when you board / transfer not at the IG

This. If security is before getting on the gondola they don't need much of an increase at the IGW as it will be a continuous rate of people delivered and nothing like a parking tram, multiple resort buses, and the monorail all arriving at the same time at the front entrance.

I would think they would continue the trend of having security before you get on the transportation .. but not sure how that would work when getting off at DHS though .. since the station is in front of the security gates at DHS.

I'm not a fan of that having security at the transportation areas though .. just makes it way too congested in areas not designed for it.

Yea WDW buses have crashed as well. I'm just waiting for the Minnie Van to unfortunately-and likely not the drivers fault.
